Andrew Wiggins, Bam Adebayo, Erik Spoelstra | Postgame Interviews | November 3, 2025

Yeah, I mean, uh, I’m used to the pace. Um, like you said, the Warriors, all of them, they played, you know, pretty fast and, um, that’s what we’re doing now. You know, we the we got the guys for it, got the personnel for it. Um, you know, so we’re we’re playing fast, scoring, but, you know, the most important thing is getting stops on the other side. You know, that’s what we did tonight. Talk about your veteran veteran leadership that you you bring that that that dynamic to the team. Yeah, I mean I just try to show it in different ways, you know, especially just, you know, trying to do it by example. Um, like on the court, just doing the little things. Um, talking to guys and just trying to do whatever I can to help the team win, help everyone feel comfortable. What would you say the identity of your team is? Tough, hard nose, get the job done that way. So, Coach Flo also talked about your two-way play. You’ve been in the league for quite some time. They always about your talent. So, do you ever think about yourself looking at being the top potential player in the NBA based off the ability that you have? What was it? What was you say? So, based off your talent, your ability, do you view yourself as actually that type of player in the league, but based on what people be saying? Oh, for sure. You know, I definitely look at myself as a two-way player. You know, I pride myself on, you know, both sides of the floor. Obviously, everyone in the NBA likes to score. Uh, not everyone likes to play defense, you know, so I pride myself on both. um and you know try to get stops. Andrew, apologize for a few asses, but what’s just what’s it been like to have Norm around as a teammate early in the season so far? Oh man, it’s been amazing. He’s been amazing. Norm’s a he’s a great guy on and off the court. Um on the court, he’s you know, he’s a big help. You know, you see what he’s doing, how he started this year off, and you know, it’s only up from here. You know, making the shots, getting to the rim, playing defense, everything. You know, he’s a perfect fit for this team and, you know, he’s striving for greatness over here. Did you guys want this game maybe a little bit more for him given that it was a return game? 100%. You always want that for your teammate. You always want that for the person you go to, you know, you go to war with and fight with, you know, every day, you know. Andrew, from one defender, what makes Van defender? Are there things that might be underappreciated? Um, I I feel like he he he guards one through five and he does it very well. Very well. Very smart. He’s the loudest person on the court. Great leader. Um, so he’s definitely one of the best defenders in the league. What makes him such a great leader as well? He’s vocal, holds you accountable, but he also lifts you up. Um, he’s someone you want on your team. Like if you’re going to battle, you you want B for sure. You guys forced, I think, just 37 points off your arm in this game. What was it with that third quarter, maybe the game for a hole that you can take away and replicate? Maybe not to that level, but replicate as a whole. Um, I mean, you just that’s Miami Heat, you know, basketball. You know, we got be tough on the on the defensive end. You know, the Clippers have a lot of, you know, a lot of talented, you know, guys that can do a lot of things. So, it’s it’s a collective thing. It’s a collective group. It’s not one guy. It’s not two guys. It’s on the whole team. Thank you. Like for you and and what have you enjoyed the most about how this team is much different than all your other Heat teams in the past? I mean, you know, it’s a this team is different because it’s it’s a collective effort. Uh, you know, we we’ve been playing like this all summer, so it’s just going straight into the season with it’s second nature for us. And, uh, everybody’s involved. You don’t know who nights is going to be. That’s the that’s a wonderful thing I like about this offense and this team. You know, we share the ball. You know, we’re getting to our spots. We, you know, we’re willing to sacrifice and enjoy somebody else’s success. How easy was that for you to buy into that personally? Oh, I mean I’m always I’m always down to, you know, do it as a collective effort. Uh, you know, being able to trust my teammates and share the ball and then obviously it just it just helps all of us cuz we all feel involved. You know, like I said, you don’t know who knights are going to be and that’s a that’s a great thing about this team. On that point, you’ve been two wave for a while now, but Tu was like praising your adaptability whether tier team USA. Where does having that? Uh, I mean, that’s just being versatile. Uh, you know, thanking God he gave me this ability to fit any offense or defense. Um, you know, at some point we’ll win DPI or uh maybe even get a AllNBA. Just uh just speaking that to existence, manifesting that. But uh like I said, man, just thanking God that he gave me this ability. What’s it like to see Mile Manor Andrew Wiggins step up and daggers? you know, maybe he wouldn’t least expect boy. Uh, you know, quiet as kept. Wig has been the hero in a lot of situations for us this season. And, uh, you know, you you love that about him. All right. Like you said, he’s very he’s very even kill. Uh, but you see the emotion every once in a while. And, uh, he does the little things that people probably don’t even know. Um, so, you know, kudos to to Andrew Wiggins. What’s Norm like to have around? how kind of how he handled, you know, today’s game. Uh, I think Norm came in with the right intentions, man. He wants to win. Doesn’t matter who scores. Doesn’t matter uh if he gets his, you know, at the end of the day, he wants to win and, you know, I like having Norm around. He’s uh he’s slowly starting to creep and be one of the co-pilot for this team. Um, so, you know, he’s he’s a great asset for us. Want this game maybe a little bit more for him coming back here? For sure. For sure. I feel like, you know, he can say it wasn’t, but I feel like it was definitely emotional win for him. Um, glad we could get it for him. Uh, Bam. So, Eric, you know, labeled you as the, you know, artist on the team. How would your teammates really label your type of leadership style? How would you view yourself as a leader? Like, would you motivate your teammates? Man, uh, uh, that’s a teammate question. Um, I don’t really like to talk about myself as a leader. Uh, but you know, I want this thing to be a together thing. You know, I want us to all be able to, you know, really rock with one another cuz I feel like off the court matters just just as much as on the court. So, being have being able to have that togetherness off the court, being able to, you know, obviously blend and mesh and, you know, go out to eat, that matters to me cuz when you get out there, if you’re not connected, it’s going to show. Ben, talk about your greatness. What makes you great? What makes me great? Uh uh I’m a guy who can defend, who can guard one through five. Uh and then you can put me in any offense. Pick and roll, motion offense, five out. Uh doesn’t really matter. I’m going to figure out how to impact winning. So I feel like that’s that’s my greatest. Who was your inspiration as you were coming up, man? Growing up become now. Uh Udonis Hasslam, Kevin Garnett, and uh Kobe Bryant. Oh man, y’all know who that player was. The goat man. So on Friday, um what you about to say? Did you see uh Kawi’s winning shot? And if you did, did you guys prepare for possibly that type of game, close game like that? I mean, we weren’t prepared for a close game, but uh we didn’t need to watch that game. We know what Kawhai’s capable of. You know, we’ve seen him take team take take a team to the promised land. Uh so we we we know what he’s capable of or there’s no shock. That’s why we were sending doubles at him. We were trying to confuse him, trying to make shots difficult, uh switching the match up every once in a while and uh you know, just try to make it difficult for him. All right. Thank you. I know you often speak about any way possible. Can you sort of take us through the endgame there and including your thoughts on what you guys did to fight back to get ahead? Bam’s three consecutive plays, the jumper, stopping Harden, the free throws, but then the frantic finish that led to the all or nothing shot. Yeah, you just kind of had a feeling uh in that second half that no matter what it was going to end up in that kind of finish. Um but uh I I I was really encouraged uh and pleased with the defensive um mentality that that second half guys really uh you know did some difficult things. Uh that that’s a a really skilled offensive uh team. Um you know and uh Pella really sparked everything in in that third quarter just with his passion, his uh his energy. Uh and then DaVon and and Wigs uh showed you know showed you what they’re capable of um you know on the ball or just making plays off the ball. Uh really impressive um and Bam you know continues just to be our our leader. Uh you know it was a little bit uh uneven in the fourth quarter but you know that’s what’s what happens usually. Uh the game slows down a little bit. We missed some open shots. Um we were able to take that four uh four-point lead. Um, you know, but Harden has a has a way. You know, he some deep threes uh in this game. That was one of them. Um, but uh, yeah, a very uh, very good Miami Heat win. You spoke before the game about this team learning how to win. How important can a lesson like this be these last two last two days where maybe didn’t close the game as well against the Lakers and tonight you come away? Yeah. And the San Antonio game. Yeah. I mean, all of these are important lessons. Even you go to the Orlando game, it was a very winnable game uh as well. Uh and you know, it’s that adage, it could be any play that really impacts it and gets you over the top. Uh but there was a great karma uh to uh our team in in the second half. Guys were really competing for each other. You could feel the passion. You could feel uh the energy within the group. Um guys wanted to put their imprint on the game defensively. Uh you know and and in the third quarter it was a lot of fun. I mean we were able to get some uh stops and get out and get in the open court. Uh you know get our offense going. I think we had almost 40 in that quarter. Uh but you get to those last six minutes, anything can happen and and the bottom line is you just have to figure out how to uh you know get the win. And um it was it was really good to see that that I thought it was fitting for us the way the second half went that we were able to get the last stop, you know, of the game. Um coach, so the second unit came in with Khalil Wear, Fonteio, and the other guys. What’s the day-to-day conversations you kind of have with those guys that’s coming off the bench, how important they are, and the confidence that you instill to them day by day? Yeah, that’s been happening all year. Uh I I love the way the the first unit talks to that group. uh you know, we try to infuse them with as much confidence as possible. They’re game changers for us. Uh you know, with their energy, they really share the ball. They can they can be so ignitable offensively. Uh and they give us a tremendous boost both in the first half uh and in that third quarter. Um everybody in the locker room loves to see it. Spell, I understand you said before the game, it’s not about the number that Wigs finishes with, but he had a pretty big three at the end and two pretty good closeouts. What did he do to be ready for those moments? Yeah, I think you know when he’s top of his game, he’s one of the elite two-way players in this league. He literally can guard one through five. Um I think u you know it goes without saying uh Kawhi Leonard is one of the best skilled uh offensive players in this league. He can just get to his spot against anybody and he doesn’t miss. You know, that’s and he’s his handle is incredible. He’s poised. uh you know, and so the things that that uh Wigs can do are showed tonight is those are uncommon. Um and then offensively, he just he’s going to gain so much more confidence as the season goes on, getting comfortable uh in our offense. Um he hit that big three. Everybody wants him to be aggressive. Um but he’s already had a knack for big shots, you know, with us and and the short period of time with us. SP you guys finished with 37 points off turnovers. I think at one point in that third quarter it was 15 nothing you guys. Um what are some things that you noticed that we’re really working on that and how do you kind of replicate that defensive effort um to kind of Yeah. I mean we have to expend energy. You got to burn some calories. we’re at our best when we’re flying around disruptive, you know, we we say slightly reckless, you know, and um, you know, that has to be, you know, our identity. Um, and when all five guys are committing to that and then we play into our depth, that second unit gives us life, uh, you know, we really can create some things and you can see it. You can see the momentum, you know, shift. uh we know what it is. We were not really able to disrupt them in that in that first half. Uh but they’re also a very difficult team to disrupt. I mean, they’re skilled. They they they’re patient. Um they have weapons all over the place. Well coached. Uh but in that third quarter, we were able to to uh um you know, bring that energy and and just make some things happen. Bigger game for Norm uh than others. How how do you feel he kind of handled, you know, the big game and how do you come back from that injury? Um, yeah, very well. You know, I he’s been working diligently behind the scenes with the training staff. Uh, he was on somewhat of a minutes restriction. Um, but yeah, you can see how he changes the dynamic of our team, you know, offensively. Um, you know, we really can get to a different level with him and that’s it’ll be the same thing with Tyler. What went into the decision to keep PA in that starting group? you want back. Well, they’re dynamic, you know. Um, and you know, I know probably people will point to Kell and that’s a demotion. It’s not. You know, there might be some team I know there will be some teams where it probably makes more sense to play big. I mean, we have a team that it makes more sense to use our versatility and and sometimes changing the the starting lineup, you know, to do that. Uh, you know, they’re they’re playing Kawawaii or Derrick Jones at the four. That’s that’s a lot of versatility and speed. Wanted to make sure that uh you know we not match that but could dictate things. Um and then Ko gave us great minutes. Great minutes. It was really uh really great to see him uh respond. Eric obviously the toughest things playing at pace playing with all this energy. the second night of a backto-back came through today. Then ending a four game trip as always it seems in Denver at altitude. Is this maybe the ultimate challenge to see how far you guys can push yourself? I don’t know. You probably have a stat. I don’t remember the last time we’ve won there in a regular season game. It’s been a long time. So, uh yeah, let’s uh let’s stack up as much as we can. We we’ll play it on Mount Everest if we have to. All right. Bo, I know we talked about pace a lot. We talked about conditioning year in and year out. Like, how does I guess Ira’s point, like how does a game like this mentally and physically validate what you’re trying to do uh to, you know, move into this season and move past last season? Um, yeah, we’re not even thinking about last season like at all. I mean, um, but I think, you know, we’re we’re a team that’s learning how to win. Um, and I think this is a a great, you know, um, a great game to come off of what we had last night where we had an opportunity to win. Didn’t make enough plays. Same thing in San Antonio. And then tonight, you know, we were able to to really defend and um, and then execute going down the stretch and felt like we were worthy enough to win. It doesn’t always work work out that way, but u, but it was a good uh, growth opportunity for our team. Last question. We obviously know basketball is a game of runs, but from the outside looking in, what is it like to coach this group of guys that seem to take accountability very quickly and make those adjustments and have no egos on the team? Oh, we have egos. What makes you think that? We have very a very ambitious group. Um, but if you want to conquer the world, you better have some ambition. And we have a very ambitious locker room. I I really love that about our group. Thank you.

  1. They got lucky to get out of that one alive… some of the calls and no-calls in the past 3 games really make you feel like Miami doing well this year was not part of the script. πŸ™ƒ

  2. Wiggins is playing ok offensively but his passing and decision making is not that good I notice that Wiggins should be a superstar player like Khawi but his decision making and passing is Wiggins weaknesses
