Audible despair at Bluejays watch party as Yamamoto is shown warming up in G7

  1. Sometimes the World Series MVP award is just for show, this was truly one of those scenarios where one player struck fear in the other team and their fanbase. Definition of MVP.

  2. I searched Yamamoto in Reddit search bar so much that l discovered there is a NHL player named Yamamoto who scored a goal the day after Game 7.

  3. Making people audibly groan just over the sight of you in the bullpen

  4. The same way “Baila Conmigo” strikes fear into the hearts of Yankee fans everywhere, so will the words “Yamamoto is warming” for Jays fans.

  5. that’s the same sound my dad made when i told him yamamoto hit his first batter to load the bases lmao

  6. That has to be deflating. After Yoshinobu left game 6 Bluejay fans probably thought, “well at least we never have to deal with him for the rest of the series because what pitcher would go out on 0 day rest?”.

  7. I totally forgot about this watch party. I can’t even imagine what the vibes were like at the end.

  8. I truly empathize with blue jays fans, Watching Yamamoto this series gave me horrible flashbacks to watching madison bumgarner terrorize us in 2014

  9. There’s another recording that shows him coming out the bullpen. He fucking skips out the bullpen door. Looked like a caged fighting animal being released. You can hear someone in the background say “Wow!” as he literally flys out of the bullpen. I wonder what the Blue Jays hitters were thinking.

Edit: Couldn’t find it on YouTube, but here it is if you have Instagram.

  10. Imagine watching a guy who threw 96 pitches the night before warming up and just absolutely knowing he’s about to end your dreams.

  11. Yoshinobu Yamamoto. He might have become the most famous Japanese name in Canada, hasn’t he?

Yoshi warming up after throwing 110 pitches the previous night

  13. I was at that watch party and there was genuine fear in the atmosphere when they showed Yoshi warming up in the bullpen

  14. What a moment, thanks for sharing! Shout out to the BJ fans that are so into the moment. It was almost destiny for Yamamoto this WS and he was not going to be denied

  15. He’s like that horror movie where you run and run, and he’s still somehow right behind you, still warming up in the pen.

  16. recency bias is brought up way too many times. this guy struck fear into an entire country. edit: guy from Quebec downvoted me, I feel it in my plumbs

  17. Some final boss shit.

I still think him warming up in 18th inning was what gave Freddie the boost to send the ball over the wall after multiple short attempts.

Once he showed up in bullpen to warm up it suddenly snapped everyone out of the nap they were taking.

  18. This is such a strong video. Hadn’t seen this one but really shows the impact an elite pitcher has when he’s in the zone for a series.

  19. My husband is a dodgers fan and did the same thing as Yesavage warmed up. That was an great series.
