REPORT: New York Jets Are Looking For “At Least a 3rd Round Pick” For Breece Hall | Trade Deadline

[Music] All right, guys. What’s going on? Welcome in. So, Diana Rousini of The Athletic is reporting that the New York Jets are looking for quote unquote at least a third round pick if they’re going to trade Hall before next week’s deadline. So, obviously, we have to take it with a grain of salt here. But, you know, I got to be honest, a third round pick for Breeze Hall, it just I just don’t know if there’s a team out there that that’s willing to do that at this point because of the contract situation. It’s not just you have to give up a draft pick, but you have to give up this draft pick and then pay him, make him one of the highest paid running backs in football. Um, and you know, whenever you’re in a situation like that, typically in the National Football League, that player gets dealt for less, right? his price tag comes down because he’s on an expiring deal. Now, there has been quite a few teams that have been linked to Bree Hall so far. Um, I would say most notably the Kansas City Chiefs. The LA Chargers are are, you know, another team that’s up there. But again, a third round pick, man, that it it’s that’s just big-time compensation. Um, you know, all things considered. Now, we’ve heard reporters say a fifth round pick. We’ve heard other reporters say a fourth round pick. So, who knows how this whole thing is going to play out. Either Darren Muji is doing an excellent job building up Bree Hall’s value and is going to trade him at the deadline or they’re just going to simply keep him. Now, this is where I stand on it and we were talking about this in a previous video, but I really think it comes down to one simple question. Do the New York Jets want to build around Bree Hall? Do they want him back? I really think it’s as simple as that. You know, if the Jets want him back, then you don’t trade him and you start talking contract extensions. something like James Cook got something like Kairen Williams, you know, a three-year contract, probably 10 to 12 million per season. I think that is totally totally fair for Bree Hall. I mean, there are a ton a ton of different arguments that you can make for keeping Bree Hall. I I mean, I I don’t really want to focus on the rest of this season too much because I don’t think Darren Muji’s making moves in a vacuum where he’s so focused on this one season where the Jets are one and seven. But moving forward, assuming we’re, you know, potentially drafting a new quarterback up at the top of the 2026 draft class, yeah, having a guy in Bree Hall is going to be a really, really nice piece for that young quarterback to uh grow and develop with. Um, and I think it’s also safe to say that, you know, Bree Hall has shown that he’s a capable player. Where Bree has struggled, it’s always to me at least like a mental thing like drops or a fumble. It’s not so much he’s too weak to play. He’s not too slow. It’s not like he’s some sort of ineffective runner to the outside compared to the inside. He doesn’t really have many flaws as a player, but you just kind of feel like when his there’s moments in in a game where there’s just mental lapses, right? An easy easy drop where the ball just goes in and out of his hands and that’s really it. Like almost like a concentration thing or again a fumble here or there. Um you know, specifically looking at last year. So, you know, when you have a guy like that, it’s just all about, hey, if you can get that contract extension signed, sealed, and delivered, if you can eliminate that those mental errors, all of a sudden, you have a really, really, really impressive piece. I mean, to be frank, Bree Hall is a really good player um as we stand right now. Hence why losing him would definitely be a big blow to the offense. But again, I think for me, if you want to keep them, you start talking extensions and you get it done with. I don’t want to see any sort of weird drama where the Jets hold on to him and they don’t really know if they want him back for the long term and there’s this weird, you know, weird rumors and cryptic tweets and all of a sudden, fast forward a couple months from now, January, February, March, we’re in a Bryce Huff situation where we have a young homegrown productive player leave for nothing and the Jets could have easily handled it better. But of course, that’s a hypothetical, right? We’re talk new regime, new general manager, out with the old, in with the new. Hopefully Muji has better foresight than the previous regime. But if the Jets don’t want him, then you move him and you get a draft pick. Draft pick or two, draft pick and a young player, something like that. Um, I really don’t think it makes sense to just let the deal play out and he hits the open market and the Jets get nothing in return. The whole compensatory draft pick, you know, that’s not a for sure guaranteed thing. It’s not like we’re going to be getting an extra two this season or something like that. It would probably be like a 2027 fourth or fifth rounder. Not this year’s class in the following following class. So that to me is just not really a position that I would like to be in. You know, if I’m the Jets, I’m either keeping Bree Hall and I’m extending him, making him a part of this football team for the foreseeable future. or again if the Jets don’t feel like he’s the right fit or here’s a you know a pretty big curveball does Bree want to be here if Bree is maybe one foot in one foot out or he doesn’t really want to be here for the long term or he wants to go to like a win now football team like immediately Kansas City then okay now all of a sudden the extension talks that question becomes a little bit more confusing because then I don’t want the Jets to overpay give him extra extra money to try to just convince him to resign. At that point, I think that would probably be a mistake. So, you know, for me, again, if you want them, extend them. If you don’t want them, trade them and move forward and just close the close the book and be done with it. So, we’ll see what happens. I mean, this has been an ongoing storyline. I It feels like literally every day we’re getting a new article uh regarding the Bree Hall trade rumors and whatnot. But, um anyway, thanks so much for watching. And I appreciate you guys and as always, go Jets. [Music]

  1. The game against Cleveland will give us a real insight of where we are at as a team…As we now see Cinci has the worst D in the NFL. Let’s put in another solid performance against a decent D!

  2. Hope to keep Hall. Any chance on QB vids for the 26 class soon? Would love to hear your take on Mendoza, Moore, etc. Great stuff as always, JC!

  3. That’s too low. It’s Monday. He’s our best Back by FAR. He shouldn’t be going anywhere. Him and Isaiah is a solid 1, 2 punch and Braelon is trash. Bringing up Breeces small issues and making it big doesn’t change the fact he is one of if not THE best offensive player we have. He gets 15-20+ carries a game & 10+ targets a game you get the Breece we had against the bengals and all other big games he’s had in his career.
Keep him, pay him, we’re good.

  4. Believe Breece has seen enough of the Jets. It all starts with the owner and his very poor reputation. His career is short and as a running back and he wants to win now. This will not happen with the Jets who can only hire inexperienced coaches who have no knowledge of developing players. Most likely can not wait to run out that door after the season ends.

  5. kc is desperate now for sb for kelce last year. i think you could do breece and harrison (dl) for a 1 even. kc's 1 will not be a starter for kc so they're not losing anything. also with $90M in cap space, there don't appear to be a lot of FA to run at other than Hendrickson so paying Breece $10M on 3 year contract isn't very taxing either.

  6. At some Point we have to be Sellers ,but without giving away our Star Players for cheap Prices. I would trade Breece for at Least a Second Round Pick ,where ironically he was selected if i am not mistaking. I'd rather trade Lazard and Quincy Williams. And if possible Michael Clemons. Breece, Johnson, Quinnen and Will MC Donald I would normally keep. Quinnen in my Opinion is worth at Least a First Round Pick and another Player. But I definitly would keep these four Players. Quinnen is easyly the Teams best Player and the other Players are important Building Blocks for the Future (if healthy). But I could see Breece get tradet.

  7. Why are we listening to Diana Rossini? She’s literally always wrong. She don’t know what she’s talking about. Go look back at the Aaron Rodgers shit.

  8. He’s asking for a 3rd because if he keeps him and lets him walk he prolly going to get 4th anyways so why trade him if your going to get the same or worse then that comp pick.

  9. Pay the man then you have a good one two punch with him and Wilson for a new qb or fields to work with right away. He could be as good as matera is for Crystal Palace 😉

  10. I think we should pay him and pay him between 9-10 mill a year and have incentives to pay him more. I don’t think we can let him go for just a 3rd rounder, or let him walk. We have to offer him before the deadline

  11. franchise tag him. why send him away for a pick, who may not even be as good as him. i understand the need for picks and the future, but our other backs arent even set right now. if anything, i can see mcdonald being sent off, and well as quincy. im a fan of both, but i would rather move them than hall.

  12. I’ve never seen so much love for a player who has done absolutely NOTHING for this team! Personally I’ve always liked Breece but he hasn’t been the same since he tore his acl rookie year and it’s the TRUTH. The dude doesn’t come out and have consistent 100 yard games like saquon did when he was a giant. If he was more consistent every week l then I’d be alittle more weary of trading him, but Breece Hall is not Saquon Barkley!

  13. It makes no sense to trade breece for a 3rd and then have a hole at rb spending draft capital to find a new good rb, i wish we had some idea of how much he wants.

  14. Keep him and pay him. We're bring in a new qb. Why should he have to struggle trying to rebuild the running game. The OL is finally coming together. Get the qb and let's go

  15. The part that I don't think is being mentioned enough, including on Jets podcasts, is that trading Hall would make the team look like it's totally tanking on the season and no amount of denials from Glenn, Johnson, or anyone else in the Jets organization would be able to dispel that impression. You're going to start Davis with only Herbert behind him as someone who's ever carried the ball much in the NFL? Can't see it, no matter what the post-2025 complications around Hall may be. Especially only a few days after season ticket holders got their price increase notifications.

  16. It doesn't make sense to trade him for less than a third really, because you can get a comp pick that will probably be at least a 4th maybe even a third (I know its not a sure thing, but if you are really going to have to pay the guy a top of the market deal you're going to get a comp pick when he leaves.) Also I would bet the GM and HC would like to win more than one game this year and if you trade Breece your chances of that happening go down drastically. So I just can't see selling Breece for peanuts. I'd do it for a high fourth next year maybe, but no team that has a high pick is going to be trading for him this year, so it really just has to be a bottom of the round third for me at least to ship him off. I'm not trying to hand KC another ring for a 6th round pick.

  17. JETS ARE STUPID TO ONLY WANT A 3 ROUND PICK FOR HALL THAT NOT ENOUGH U ARE GIVING AWAY HALL FOR NOTHING NO WONDER ITS BEEN 15YRS SINCE U CLOWNS HAVE MADE THE PLAYOFFS GET RID OF THE FRONT OFFICE SELL THE TEAM.

  18. The Jets can’t even find a QB. U mean to tell me we’re willing to trade Breece for a 3rd round pick which we all know isnt a sure thing!! Now we have to find a QB & a RB in the draft! That will never happen! This will set us back for a few more seasons… wake up Mougy, sign Breece & find a QB in the draft!! Even though we suck at that!! This is why this organization will never get to that point of respectability!! It’s sad!! Yeah, let’s just get rid of Quinnen And J. Johnson and start the rebuild! 😂 😂 We’re already the laughing stock of the league! Now we’re going to give our enemies all the players they need to succeed!! It has to be a f’kin conspiracy!!! 😮It just don’t make sense!!!🤔 Woodieee!! Sell the f’kin team!!!!
