You take Jordan P out the starting unit. You keep Herb Jones in the starting unit. You know, no disrespect to Herb, but teams are totally ignoring Herb Jones from Yiana Arc. The Clippers his former team too. He played way longer with the Clippers. why he was starting that game. Not only did he not start, he ain’t get no run period. They ain’t play him period. He ain’t getting no run. OKC OKC running two big lineups. Even though they missing chat, they still running like with Hartinstein and they have like a traditional four out there at times. So historically, this organization ain’t like been hitting draft picks out of the park any [ __ ] way. People just know everybody. So, David Griffin, he had a lot of personal relationships with people who like cover the team. Personal as far as like, I’m going to throw you a bone every once in a while. say nice things about me, you know, [ __ ] like that. And Joe Dumas don’t necessarily have those relationships. So, every mistake he makes is going to be super duper magnified compared to the mistakes that David Griffin made. Now, let’s go through the list of mistakes David Griffin made. And I’m going tell you why I’m giving you this list. Check this out. David Griffin, he kept Drew Holiday for a little too long. That’s when he was like, “Oh, this is going to be Drew Holiday’s team.” and Drew Holidayiday, you know, he he needs to be he needs permission to dominate. He’s gonna be MVP, right? That’s what he said. Crazy. Then he said he drafted he traded the number four pick, got eight and 17, drafted Jackson Hayes and Alexander Walker. Neither one of those players uh saw second contracts with the Pelicans, drafted Kyrie Lewis over Theres Maxi. And even when he drafted Jackson Hayes, Darius Garland was right there. Drafted Kyrie Lewis over Theres Maxi. That’s two allstar uh point guards you passed up on. They drafted Dyson Daniels because they wanted Dyson Daniels to be the point guard of the future. We know that’s not the case with Dyson. Dyson is an incredible onball defender. Dyson is the same player he’s always been. He’s He’s just not good offensively. It just is what it is. Drafted Jordan Hawkins in the lottery. Mind you, in that draft, now if you follow me, you know I wanted them to trade that pick for the number two or three pick. It would have probably been two because I think Charlotte had more interest in Brandon than uh Portland did. Right. I wanted them to trade that pick, get Scoot Henderson, get some expiring salary from um Charlotte, like go take on Gordon Haywood’s contract, trade that expiring salary, and maybe trade get Mark Williams in the deal. Passed on that, decided to keep Brandon Ingram for another year, which turns out to be a disaster. And um doesn’t uh well, ends up drafting Jonah Hawkins in that tra in that uh draft. Devonte Graham. So, we traded what we did a signing trade with Devonte Graham uh for first structured that contract perfectly because at one point it was like a $15 million uh no it’s like a $12 million non-G guaranteed deal. But of course, team sucked. Luxury tax didn’t work out. So, you end up pretty much paying four first, no, I’m sorry, four second round picks. four second round picks to get rid of Devonte Grant to the San Antonio Spurs for Josh Richardson. Willie Green opts to play Josh Richardson over Trey Murphy. Pelicans fall out of contention for the playoffs. Shit’s a disaster, right? You hire Willie Green. You holler Will hire Willie Green at the at the uh not necess not specifically the request of Brandon and Josh Hart. What I mean by that is they didn’t say Willie Green, go get Willie Green. But you hire someone to match their temperament. And what I mean by match their temperament is you hire someone that’s not going to yell at them or coach them hard. Pause. Right. But since the last guy [ __ ] it all up, if you Joe Dumas, look at the roster you inherited. You inherited the Jonte with a [ __ ] torn Achilles, right on with two years left on this deal at $30 million. You inherit uh CJ’s deal. You got to move off of you inherit um you didn’t get nothing from the Brandon trade, the [ __ ] Bruce Brown, Kelly Oolen, and uh first and Bruce Brown walked in free agency. You didn’t inherit anything, right? You this is a multi-year process. What makes it bad is that you there never was a not even a traditional tearown.
