Cal Raleigh & Eugenio Suarez spark 5-run rally as Mariners stun Blue Jays, take 3-2 series lead

always count on Sundays with the NFL on plus. Game five of the ALCS. Mariners. I mean, solo homer to tie this thing up at two apiece. Bottom eight. No one out. The big dumper. That was just the beginning. Eugenio Suarez, the first since Edgar Martinez back in 1995. The Blue Jays respond after that as the Mariners go on to win game five, when it comes to the pitching of the Mariners, which we will get into, but nonetheless three two and now a win away from their first World Series appearance. . And for the first time this series, I heard you guys say it and now I want to, what was the difference maker? Obviously it’s that grand slam, but what did you like out of what you saw? Well we’re good right? They silenced the bats. Gausman wasn’t lights out by any means. He keeping it in untl that eighth. You said it just three hits through seven and then the wheels fell off. Or that has struggled. That has been their Achilles heel all year. They were 16th in And I’me shocked at that last inning. Right. The the Blue Jays bullpen obviously Gausman did his thing. Miller did his thing. You’re superstar you know ties the game right there. Home run. You had no offense going really all game besides the you know first Anthony Dominguez to come in. I really thought he was going to go slider off that fastball once he got away from him. Once he he fouled that that first one off I’m like oh man. He took a good swing there right when he came in. You’re going okay. He’s a little tight is that that’s been his issue. He’s got great stuff. It’s a huge spot he was going to go slider off that we were watching. I’m like, he’s going slider right there off of that fastball. He chased a slider early. He’s been chasing sliders all series. It looked like Suarez. Suarez was trying to damage all series long. All postseason long. He has been swinging for the fences right. He fit the north of 50 home runs this year. This guy hits homers. This is who you got this swing. What a homer Apo you know the place was electric. After that I can talk offense. And what we saw in that final that eighth inning of this game. But I do want to talk about done throughout this series so far. Well, what do you make of that decision now 2020. But in that moment there were a lot of questions about that move. Yeah. And manager makes this time of the year is scrutinized. Right. If a player executes his plan and he gets when he looks like a genius, if a player doesn’t do what he’s supposed to do, why would you coming up there, right? Right. It was a weird spot to go to him and then brash obviously giving it up. Right. I understand the move. We were all questioning it when it did happen. Coming out there. I’m like know, decided to, you know, just kind of switch it up. We did mention guys start to see him a little well I think ten ERA. We were saying the third time through the order up popping up. You end up grounding back to the pitcher with Jimenez, and then you got. And I think part of his thinking is I don’t want to let him get guys third time around. That’s fair. I do want to look a little bit ahead because now we’re heading back to series is shifting. I know we’ve talked about the home teams and trying to find a win, but when I look at Toronto. Your backs are against the wall and now we’re in must win territory. This was, in my opinion earners today. Yes. Because well why is that. Why even though they won those two games in first start of the postseason. So I think he’s going to be a lot better and it’s going to be a tough time when they get back on Sunday. Yeah, that’s going to be a tough ask you right here. This is a you know this is kind of a a big spot or not kind of big spot for your Savage to be in. But it’s going to be again lineup without him at the top of their lineup. Not only the power potential, the three. Obviously that’s a big part just of this team or two off before this game. Six and, and you want to have at least 24, 48 hours to have to really take care of him. What they’re going to do is put one of those tight sleeves on him to keep the swelling out of the area. He’s going to get a lot during the off day, and then obviously it’s see those names. You got Jose Jose Altuve Derek Jeter David Ortiz like in the postseason. He turns it, hey ma, listen, we we’re going to need you. You know, our this last game cautionary reasons. Let’s get you out trying to make his way to first base. After getting hit by that pitch heading to the clubhouse. We’ret taking a look at franchises with no World Series, their year of their first season, looking at the Mariners, they’re trying to get there.or u

  1. Hitting the HR while the crowd is chanting MVP is cinema.

Then a grand slam with the crowd chanting GE-NO is even MOAR CINEMA.

Dude hit the crowd with a ❀ when he stepped on home base.

    Let's GO Mariners!

  2. Blue Jays' relievers backed themselves into a corner after Cal's HR. Polanco and Naylor walked. Arozorena HBP and nowhere to put Suarez. Then Dominguez takes it to 2 – 2. Gotta throw a strike. Suarez knew it and he said after he knew he would get a fastball to drive in the air, just happy it left the yard

  3. Either these commentators are bozos or they weren't actually watching the previous two innings if they are critical of taking Bryce Miller out. Miller had to rely on the defense to pull off two Houdini acts to get out of trouble in prior innings.

  4. Bryce Miller had 2 of the luckiest double plays you will ever see to get out of the previous innings. Pulling him was the right move. Brash just didn't execute.

  5. Little is arguably one of the worst pitchers in the Jays’ pen. Why Schneider put him in with just 6 outs away from going up 3-2 in the series is incomprehensible and baffling!!! IMHO, the decision literally gifted the Mariners the win!

  6. John Schneider should apply to be a Horror movie producer…. I will never forget how evil it was to rob us of a fair chance at playing for a World Title !

  7. Do you talking heads ever pay attention? Geno specifically said he wasn't swinging for the fence — he was just trying to hit a fly ball to get the runner from third in…. and while Cal and Geno's homers were huge, I would offer Cal jumping out to get that swinging bunt before it went foul for the double play when the Blue Jays had the bases loaded was the biggest play of the game. Were it not for that, the following heroics would not have happened….

  8. Seattle causing a earthquake in the 8th inning. This city has been dreaming of a world series and they are 1 game closer. Please close this series out

  9. We're really scraping the bottom of the barrel with these two "analysts". I'd rather have the two drunks at the end of the sports bar break this game down. Who are these guys?

  10. Bringing in Brendon Little was not the right choice. He has not had much success since early August. The Jays needed to go with their top reliever, Jeff Hoffman. That's what they signed him for.

  11. While Seattle could certainly drop the last 2 games, I'm not sure why she would think that Toronto would "certainly" take the two at home- seeing as Seattle is undefeated against Toronto in their stadium in postseason history

  12. Where was Jeff Hoffman? HELLO?! Brandon Little will NEVER see the light of day again!!! You mark my words. John Schneider gifted that game to Seattle with the most egregious managing move I have ever seen. Inexcusable! I don't care what sport you are talking about, you ALWAYS win or lose with your BEST not your WORST!!!

  13. Lewis Brinson, bruh, please take some Toastmasters sessions. The jargoning, especially combined with the rapid blinking, takes away from your media presence, the good personality you exude, your expert baseball analysis, and the chemistry you have with your colleagues. In particular, your usage of 'um' and 'you know', was prevalent, and tarnished the flow of the show. .

Will Middlebrooks also had issues with either repeating a word, or stuttering. Maybe he should take his time for a more smoother delivery. Middelbrooks is used to the hot corner, but on this set he has to play more up th middle to allow Ms. Martin to assume that spot. Just like a pro tha he is, he handles the transition seamlesslessly, helping to ensure the segment continues with that flow.

Keiana Martin definately belongs in the room. Her intro and game summary was great. I particularly liked the question about the quick hook to Miller that allowed the heavy hitters to give their expert analysis. The rest of the conversation was similar to what you would hear an expert analysis at a bar. This would be great minus the jargoning,

The Blue Jays' bullpen is preventing them from being on paper a complete enough team to be evenwith the Dodgers on paper. They gave my hometown team hope. Don't make a mistake with that lineup or the runs pile up.

The midsummer trades really worked out for the Mariners, GE-NO!!! I don't know what's bigger, his dumper or the year this man his having, but Cal Raleigh has really made a name for himself. Judge has a lot of the metrics favoring him to be the MVP, but there are too many intangibles, and the records Raleigh have broken, that would probably land him the MVP.

This is a great series that belongs to the team that plays the best, a continuing tradition of a fall classic. I hope this team continues to capture these moments for us fans. Blessings.
