We really don’t hate Tom Ricketts and Jed enough
Damn, the losses must be biblical this year
82-80 season just missing the wild card about to go crazy

Dansby Swanson in 2027
“Pinch hitting with 2 outs in the 7th… the cubs trot out *Cash Considerations*…”
What the fuck
I’m good with this. Should’ve kept Shota.
Saving up their cash for Kyle Tucker /s
Just gonna hold my judgement until pitchers and catchers report
A legit back end reliever making $10 million and the Rickets can’t have that. FFS. Every year they try to make the BP work with twigs and twine. And when it doesn’t work it’s a fucking disaster.
We weren’t paying him the $9 or so million the option was for. He’s old and not worth that. Might as well get an extra 100k too
He had a team option right? So the alternative was to trade to a team willing to accept that option, Cubs accept option, or decline the option.
If cubs had no interest in retaining him then yeah trade him for something rather than releasing him for nothing.
Let’s hope these moves aren’t to trim payroll.
Wtf? Kitteedge was solid for us down the stretch and in the playoffs, just why?
So we are going to use this money to upgrade the team right?
…
Right?
…
Tom and Jed have left the chat.
Why do the Ricketts family still own the team if they can’t compete? Do they not have any wealth beyond the team anymore? Seems like they’re too poor to be a big spender
I just want to take this moment to note that I said there was no way this front office would pay Andrew Kittredge $9M next season, and people on here told me I was crazy and that $9M was a great value for him and an option that the team would obviously pick up.
This team is not trying next season. Their goal in 2026 is to not play baseball in 2027.
White Sox legend Cash C. playing for both sides of town like he’s the palatine pounder
Cubs now have officially done as many trades as the Bears have this deadline Tuesday
Ah yes. We are cleaning house of good pitchers after a playoff run hindered by a lack of elite pitching
So they traded a young prospect for him, Kittredge was totally serviceable, helped down the stretch, but then it came down to deciding paying him $9m and we just gave him back to Baltimore. Awful
Your girlfriends and wives are safe. The lumberjack looking professor from every steamy novel is gone from the area.
What inning does cash considerations pitch next season
I wonder if this means they are trying to clear up money to go after Cease, Schwarber and maybe Tucker (depending on how the market goes)
So we have one high leverage RP still left over after last year. Cool.
It’s way too early in the offseason for me to be hating the Ricketts this much.
Bullpen guys like Kittredge are always gonna be easy come easy go. Andrew Chafin a couple years back feels similar. He might have another good year in him, he might be washed by May next year, who knows. I’m not gonna get all outta sorts on losing Kittredge, even though I liked him, but shit like this means the Cubs FO is never beating the allegations
