The Mets have exercised their $4.75MM club option on left-hander Brooks Raley for the 2026 season, according to MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo. New York also declined its $2MM club option on right-hander Drew Smith for 2026, as per an MLBPA media release that listed Smith as a new entry to the free agent market.

  1. After Diaz, he was the surest arm in the pen when he came back. Hope the same is true in 2026.

  2. Yeah no kidding. This guy down the stretch was an absolute blessing. I can only recall one bad outing.

  3. Props to Stearns for making this deal while he was injured. If Raley pitches like last year, $4.75 million is a steal.

  4. We’ve always needed more than one lefty in the pen and now we’ve got Raley AND Minter?! Me thinks things are gonna be better next year in that pen
