Probably one of the few guys from the special team who does pretty well with his job! Just do his job day-in & day-out.

  1. He’s been the brightest of lights on a horrible ST. Going from Hekker to him so quickly has been a huge blessing. Dude deserves to get paid here.

  2. Guy’s a stud. He caught a lot of shit his rookie year from people that don’t understand punting. He always had the leg, just worked on directional punting and became damn good. He continues to work every offseason and keeps getting better. I still remember how many people wanted him cut after year 1. Most of this sub included.

Edit: to add, it’s like a QB with a noodle, you can’t teach arm strength. If a punter doesn’t have that explosiveness, he never will by the time he’s in the NFL. Teaching the aim and strategy behind specific ball placement is actually doable, if the guy is coachable.

  3. Hekker will likely always be my GOAT, but Evans is on an amazing trajectory. How is this dude not Pro-Bowl level? I’m definitely not gonna look up punter stats.

  4. Wonder if he will continue handling kickoffs as Karty handled kickoffs throughout the season. Karty only handled one that opened the game. Unless Karty’s struggles or that he pulled something on Sunday, allowed Evans to handle kickoffs the rest of the way.

As for Punting, he went from a slow start to really elite.
