  4. man i’ll never forget that playoff run- even if we didn’t win the finals and even if luka’s gone forever, at least we have that. that was absolutely incredible. most excited i’ve ever been as a sports fan (i was 6 when i watched the ‘11 finals and i had no idea what was even going on and i don’t even remember them winning or anything; all i remember was cheering on dirk)

  5. I know we got dog walked in the finals, but I watched mutlipe PandaHank cuts every single day of that year’s run. During that off season.

  6. They really blew up a team that beat the now defending champs while banged up and only lost because they ran into a once in a decade super team(that is nowhere near as strong anymore). Would’ve been contenders for years.

  9. Watching Luka demolish his opponents with psychopathic glee used to give me such unbridled joy. Now it’s just painful to see and be reminded of what this team used to stand for. Two decades of stability, continuity and loyalty, sacrificed for one little man’s ego.

  10. Beyond just Luka, I miss the lob game we had going at this point. Luka/Ky going off with DLive/Gafford/DJJ catching lobs was fun basketball.

    I know teams had made adjustments by the next seasons (and Celtics obviously), but still.

  14. This season was so magical man. It felt like any game that got close, the defense would just tighten up and then Luka and Kyrie would take turns walking you down in the clutch.

    It really is a shame the Finals went the way they did and, it’s gonna sound salty, shit luck as well. The 24 Celtics are easily the most dominant team to come out of the East since arguably the Heatles. You could easily say the Bron Cavs were better but in terms of pure dominance in their record start to finish.

    Compare them to any other East team the past decade and it’s fucking laughable. Jokic got a battered play in Heat squad literally one year prior.

  15. Took us 13 years from the championship to have a magical season like this. It may be another 15, 20, or 30 before we get anything close to that again. Damn this hurts to watch now

  16. We had a guy who wanted to slit the opposition’s throat and show the severed head to the fans and make them cry. And he wanted to do it all at the biggest moments, in the brightest light, on the biggest stage. And he often did. He devastated franchises. These kind of players rarely come around and we gave him away because the shoe salesman doesn’t think he has what it takes to be great????

  17. This was the most fun i’ve had watching mavs basketball since 2011. I can’t believe the adelmans and nico exist.
