NHL Highlights | Oilers vs. Stars – November 4, 2025
on the second of a back-to-back for the third time this season looking for their first win. Dallas coming off a shootout loss in Florida on Saturday. We’re underway. Nurse and Roman the deep pairing and it’s sent in deep where to Smith immediately turns it over. Going down awkwardly in the corner was Roselvic cleared by Jason Robertson. The Stars are banged up but here’s Robertson firing off the rut. A save made. a rebound and Ransen could not get much on ultimately what turned out to over the years a two time 40 goal scorer and he hasn’t scored less than 29 in the last four and it’s a juicy rebound but it’s an aggressive save here for Skinner he’s got to react to that shot with a left pad and big Edmonton is facing with respect to Dallas do you expect a different stars club tonight here’s Rosik one-time score we’ll get to that but Edmonton takes a one- nothing lead we told you Ross thinks been feeling it and Masili Poulson buries his second of the year. Jack Roselbeck able to fight a guy off Lou. This is transitional play. Chris Nonblock was pretty vocal before the game of this. You need to score off the rush and find ways to create and you have to defend the rush as well. If you’re not, you’re not going to win many games. If you are, you’ve got a great chance. This is just a strong play on Harley here by Ross Levik. Onehanded is able to eventually put this puck over and drive it right through. That’s a one-handed pass over to Pod Coulson and Pod Cole but Coulson from Roselvic and Bousard. And with that goal save on foods has given away their first prize. Quick shot from distance. A save made by Smith. A juicy rebound available. Koolak. Yeah, Jack wasn’t going to refuse that. Obviously was nice enough to give Brandon and his number for 13 games. And then hey, that’s a heavy price to pay for 13. has settled in Dallas and signed a big deal and will be here for a long time. Ranton, but one time team, one-time score. Triidle set up by Roselvic. Two nothing. Edmonton extends on its redhot power play. That’s now 11 goals in their last 21 tries. Really in the corner here. Watch this. I mean, the the power play for Edmonton has really started to work down low and find plays around the net. This clearing attempt is kept in. Great job by Bart on the line. And then the movement once again, the triangle set up. It goes down to half wall. Ticktac one-time, but this is all set up by a keep in right here. Harley thinks he’s got this puck out of the zone. That’s two quick passes. And right there, I mean, he is behind the line when he puts this puck in the net. Just excellent passing. McDavid, incredible shot we just showed you of Roselik giving it in a seemingly impossible position. Ryan Johnston stopped off the rush. A blocker save for Edmonson starter Steuart Skinner. give Rosik and McDavid the helpers on the power play goal. Leon Drytle now leads the league with six power play goals and he’s tied to the league lead with 10 overall. Here’s Robertson down low. Quick one-time to save. Johnston threw that back into traffic and then wrist handled up top by Skinner against Lindell. And we’ve got a penalty allowing Tyler Sean to come onto the ice as Rantinan scoots it over to Robertson. So that’s some big games against Edmonson. A one-timer by Sean stopped by Skinner who’s been razor sharp in this first period already with 10 saves. McD with first period goals for Edmonton. The only cautionary note as Louie talked about in the first. The Oilers also have two goal lead last night. Couldn’t hold it and a 3-2 loss. And a quick chance quick shot off the post from Ranson and right off the hop. And again Dallas first 10 seconds of the period. Regaining the line is Mo Ransom. Here’s Wyatt Johnson. Centering pass. Rich shot. Robertson save. Rebound available and finally Po. That might be 300 for Mo Raman. Two to one. Let’s just continue to battle away here on the entry. It’s a good job by Ranson and takes this pass from Johnston and then again it’s Johnson that finds the slot. this one here. I mean, the glove knocks it down. First one, second one off the post and then Rantin on the spot is able to put it home. Once he funnels this through, you’re going to see him look up. He’s going to stop, get lost in behind. He’s an available target, but then he finds this loose puck as he’s falling down. He backhands this one over the line. 2-1. [Applause] Good movement by the Stars in the power play. It’s been almost everything he does, skating, stick handling, tries to one-time that was ripped and a save made, but Coulson is looking to just fire it. Like the one-times he’s been looking down here up by one into the third to close this one out. 2-1 in favor of Edmonton. Now, the Oilers were leading after two this year. Have seen a couple get away. Maverick Bourc in front. A quick one touch on the net. Robertson unable to jam it home and first on it. Sean now Bor snatched away. Mapani Nan Hopkins cross ice reot score Conor McDavid. Three to one Edmonson. [Applause] Well, that’s some control right there for Edmonton. Transitional play drives this one down the middle. It’s the back track by him. And so often you see goals scored after a great defensive play. The speed to come back, break up the play in the neutral zone and it’s Mapani that sets it in motion, gets his feet moving on the drive, gives it the Nan Hopkins. Beautiful pass across. One pass from Mapani, second from Nan Hopkins. And McDavid is not going to make it. And I don’t know about you, but I think Dallas is going to have to go that route until they get some of their horses back. Here’s Wyatt Johnston. Bring lively. Brandon shoots and scores. That’s his second of the game and Dallas puts itself right back in it. Three-2 with still more than 11 minutes to go. They have some of their big players out of the lineup. Other guys are getting opportunities. They’re playing a team game. They have to play hard. This is the big line going to work once again. They’ve had chances all night. And it’s Wyatt Johnson. Nice transitional pass up the ice. Gets a little stop up. Throws this to the middle. Decoy by Robertson. And it’s Ranton in the trailer that’s in behind Robertson that picks this puck up. He’s ready for it. Skate face off from Dry Settle in the neutral zone. Edmonson is led pretty much all the way. Here’s Dry Settle. A steal dishing off. Russell shoots and a glove save made by Casey to Smith. Went through some great battles together and Gully was very well respected. Only got two years in Dallas and Calgary, but he’s never had a losing season as head coach. Here’s a shot by Johnson. Rebound. Score. Hasten takes advantage of a friendly hop off the Edward boards and we are tied. Robert Thomas with a similar one last night from a sharp angle. Get to the spot. This one goes off the skate of Darnell Nurse. So he blocks the shot, but if you watch the direction that it comes off the wall, it goes right to Hasty who just gets to a spot quicker. Watch him activate once he puts the jets on. and he kind of flies by and what looked like wasn’t going to be Ranson and bottled up in the neutral zone. Dry side to McDavid. They’re on the ice together. Five on five. McDavid a backhander and that stayed out off balance cleared back to center and indeed will settle it three on three where Edmonton has won a league high 69 games since they instituted the threeon three a decade ago. game’s greatest power plays. All right, here’s the faceoff. Dry subtle so good on these typically for first possession. We’re going to do it again. That was one that Steel won and Steel saying, “Hey, honest Sam Steel. Hasten point blank. No shot now. Fires and a save made by Stuart Skinner.” Impatience by Hasten who tried to get Skinner off the wall. There’s the turnover and the good defensive play by Hasten and on McDavid. They’ve seen a lot of each other in this one. Lindell, too in that pairing. And for Glenn Golson, he’s seen a lot of Bard with two and a half to go. We’re halfway through the overtime. McDavid still plenty of room for dry denied to his right. Harley defends and we’re heading to a shootout. That’s the over Robertson 56% in his career. Takes it out wide, brings it in on Skinner and scores. Top right corner chances during the the game with that wicked release that he has again coming wide and then Tricidle 36% again out wide brings it to the middle back score. What a move. Leon Tricidle outlasts Casey to Smith and tucks it inside the right post. I mean just comes in fake fake fake. Always have to respect that quick release. The big paddle brings it from forehand and wraps it around backand just teams are even. Round three of the shootout. New Janopkin sparing down denied and Dallas can win it right here and they’ll go to Wyatt Johnston. One of six in the shootout for his career. Johnston to win it for the Stars. in on Skinner. Scores. [Music]
Mikko Rantanen scored a pair of goals, and Wyatt Johnston supplied three assists and fired home the shootout winner as the Dallas Stars rallied late to defeat the Edmonton Oilers 4-3.

GO STARS GO 💚💚💚
win on Mikko's bobblehead night, nice!
finding every way possible to lose……damn, they collapse faster than a cheap pup tent in a gentle summer breeze
Oilers straight up can't keep a lead if their lives depended on it.
What an entertaining game. gg’s oilers.
The Oilers are coasting. They've learned a lot from the past two Cup runs. All they need to do is make the playoffs. No point in blowing their load early on in the season. They'll get enough wins. They'll be fine.
The Oilers only loose when they need the manager to make a change, I just hope that dummy clues in this time
Can’t believe Avs traded mikko ridiculous
Does skinner get paid by the opposition
Where are you guys who defended Skinner last 2 years? Oilers like auto, half of them Ferrari and another one prius wtf
Bouchard blows, worst D-Man in the NHL !!
I was there. Heiskanen put on a defensive clinic tonight and then tied the game up late in the 3rd.
Then he COMPLETELY shut down mcjesus in ot.
Is there is a better lock down dman on planet earth?
Oilers are going to miss the playoffs 😂😂
Bouchard was taking a nap in front of the net 3:51
Does anybody else notice that Oilers always get a weak powerplay call to bail them out?
Skinners glove.
Completely understandable why DeSmith was in goal tonight: Otter just came back from paternity leave and missed Monday's practice so he was on the bench as backup. He'll be expected back between the pipes against the Ducks on Thursday.
Thomas Harley ' s defending in the first goal was very poor. Miro defended poorly too, but score a goal. They need to defend better.
Skinner is the worst.
Roslovic doing well this year
Hyman – McDavid, Roslovic – Draisaitl is going to give Oilers two really balanced scoring lines finally.
I’m an oilers fan and I’ve noticed something. The oilers always never celebrate their goals lol. Doesn’t matter if it’s a crazy skilled goal or a late game tiebreaker goal they just go meh and fist bump each other lol (ofc some of them they do but majority if u pay attention they don’t lol)
Нефтяники обменяйте вы эту обезьянку под 25 номером и возьмите нормального защитника. Oilers, trade that monkey with the number 25 pick and get a normal defenseman.
Oilers have the triple crown of the worst. Bouchard, Nurse and Skinner.
