POSTGAME SOUND: ORLANDO MAGIC VS. ATLANTA HAWKS | COACH MOSE & TRISTAN DA SILVA
Jamal, how would you assess what went wrong tonight for your team? A lot. Uh, turnovers. No, the defensive effort wasn’t there. Uh, we let the offense dictate our defense, you know, that’s on me. I didn’t do a great job of getting these guys prepared for this game tonight. uh understanding how they were so handsy and so physical uh knowing that they were going to try to turn us over. Uh I’ve got to do a better job with this group to let them know that. How hard was it to build momentum with all the fouls? It was tough. We put them on the line 42 times, you know, understanding and knowing exactly what personnel is and what how Porzingis gets to the free throw line and what he does to draw fouls. They’re attack downhill team. Uh being in gaps early, we step slow. I think those are just small pieces of, you know, what it what what was we weren’t able to get the momentum in any part of the game. Just how hard is it to get into an offensive rhythm with the turnovers accumulating like they did? Yeah, I mean it was a combination of the turnovers getting downhill. We missed some at the rim. All those little small pieces and details, you know, give Atlanta credit. They did a heck of a job coming out playing physical, playing handsy, uh getting their hand on the basketball to create those turnovers to get themselves out on the break. Coach, coming off a couple days rest, when we went into the locker room, there was no shortage of confidence in the momentum that was being built. Why do you think maybe there was a disconnect between what they’re preaching and what they’re saying they want to do and maybe the execution? Yeah, I think in that moment, I think a lot of it happened to be, you know, we could turned it over a couple times. The momentum shifted when they were getting downhill early, easy baskets. It took its toll on our defense because they were getting those easy baskets and we weren’t being able to generate any offense because of necessarily turnovers as well as the foul. There was no real rhythm to the game. Jamal, what did you see with uh Desmond’s ejection? I have to go back and look at it. I thought he was on trying to get just make sure the guy didn’t go up to get and one hard foul. Um and that’s all I saw from that from my vantage point. Do you have to say anything to him after a moment like that or? No. What what what’s going to be the message to the team as you guys return home? Get home and regroup and take care of home. That’s the message. Get home, regroup, take care of home. uh be ready to sit back down and play a very good Boston team. Any positives you can take from Tristan’s performance tonight? I mean, he played with confidence, stepped into his shot. Uh guys were looking for him, finding him. So, I thought that was great, his level of aggression. I thought that was very good for him for for for his for his growth tonight. Uh Tristan, uh what do you feel got away from you guys defensively tonight? Um there’s been uh multiple breakdowns I feel like. Um you know, but obviously I feel like it also started with uh with our offense taking care of the ball. Um you know, that was that was one of their um or one of the main focuses for us on their scouting report was uh taking away their transition points and they got um good amount of fast break points. I’m not sure how many, but um yeah, and then uh their movement, you know, they’re they’re they’re a good team. Uh moving without the ball, uh cutting um and crashing. So, we got to we got to make sure that we uh you know, keep our man in front, see man in ball, and um contain the action in front of us. with the turnovers. How hard was it to build momentum with those turnovers in terms of getting into an offensive flow? Yeah, it’s tough. I mean, that it it doesn’t give you a chance to get a shot up. Um, you know, even if you shoot 10% from the field, like that’s still um that’s still opportunity to get a shot up and and better than than 0%. So, that’s kind of something that we got to work on. Um, make sure that we the first open shot that we get, we take. Um don’t don’t turn turn down open shots and you know make the right play. Move the ball uh move it side to side and yeah just just just play our best team basketball that we can. I know there’s no excuses but did you guys sense fatigue amongst your group because it last day of a 10day trip? Um, I mean, you can you can throw that out there obviously, but um, you know, I feel like uh feel like that’s something we got to we got to work on and we got to be ready for because it’s a long season and um, there’s going to be games where you’re tired, but um, got to push through it and you got to, you know, find a way to win, find a way to stay in the game and we kind of um, let that game get away from us a little bit. What do you think was the main cause of all the fouls? Um, you know, trying to play physical because that’s what we do. Um, I feel like some nights it’s going to be like that. Um, but being smart, smart with our heat, smart with our physicality and, uh, not trailing the play. I feel like if we if we stay in front and we’re physical, that’s that’s a whole different ball game. But, uh, that kind of got us in rotations. Um, got some easy ones on us. Um, yeah. And what helped you get into a good flow tonight, finish with 20 points? Just playing, you know, I kind of um was was lucky enough to get some good shots open uh open ones at the beginning of of the game and uh that kind of got me in the flow. But um you know, I feel like ultimately we got to we got to find a way to to find our groove as a team uh from beyond their ark and um defensively as well. All right. Thank you. Thanks, sir. Thanks,

What a game to go see live and watch your team play like dog water
Why do Jeff Weltman loves to hire outdated defensive minded only coach? His brand of basketball is just not working at all.
FIRE THE COACH!!! HE SAYS THE SAME-THING OVER AND OVER
Fire Mose!!! We have talent, he have Bane and don’t know how to use him. This all falls on coaching.
Turnovers fouls poor defense open shots and hitting bricks. Tyus can't hit anything. Bane can't defend. We are in trouble
We haven't had a real point guard since jameer Nelson smh
Y y'all making basketball hard on yourself
Fired the Coach
This team is bad period
I think bane is intentionally trying to keep his scoring down
Dam gambling sites have changed sports 😢
Fire Jeff weltman for sure
They need a point guard Orlando should’ve kept pope
What a group of LOSERS
Always hearing give such n such team credit.. like noooo bruh that’s not it
Please FIRE MOSLEY!!
Bring back Stan Van Gundy !!
Better learn Chinese pal
the stars keep hiding and forcing Tristan and to do these post games as if he has the answers to why his teammates suck
Trust the process guys
Hope Mosely knows Mandarin.
Cursed rebrand — cursed coach.
Bald coach energy.
Please get rid of this Coach. Please get rid of this Coach.
Offensively Mosley has no clue how to put these guys in a better position. He at least had the defense ready to go now that’s gone. It might be time no excuses
Last season we had a plethora of injuries, reason why we lost a lot of games.
This season we are healthy and should not be playing this bad…
He’s got to go!! Theres no excuse for the team not being ready to play. We were off for two days, practiced, and knew Trae wasn’t going to play. No excuse! Get Mike Malone in here.
Same questions, same answers. It's sports politics lol
Put me in coach I’m ready
Mose. This is a trend. Not just tonight. Not just this season. It’s been an issue since you got here. Why is your team so unprepared and sloppy on extended rest and when playing on national television? It’s a trend that is going on for years now. It seems you have a problem preparing your team.
Moseley gotta go! Mike Malone please!
