I mean this tracks. I lost count of the amount of plays where Jackson had perfect coverage but somehow gave up a catch anyway
I assume the difference with Adoree is that the other 60% they’re wide open
I’ve never seen a player be just late on so many plays like Jackson. Maybe he would’ve actually had success in this scheme earlier in his career. But dude is always a step late and can’t tackle for shit.
The other 60% of the time guys might be wiiiide tf open 😨
Honestly a great example of why single stats like these aren’t that helpful. Yeah you can look to it and point out huge gaps in elite players like Gardner and Surtain, but for any meaningful discussion, especially around Jackson, you need more numbers like # of targets, average yards of separation on missed catches. All I see is nobody throws Q’s way and when they do throw Jackson’s way 60% of the time he’s 5 yards off.
I guess this makes sense, because it seems like every time Adoree gives up a catch, he’s right there and *just* far enough behind to not make a play but still close enough to be considered tight coverage.
This doesn’t mean he’s been playing well but at least he’s not getting burnt on every single route
Adoree being #5 makes this stat completely useless
Right. This is mainly because it doesn’t matter how close he is, just put the ball up and your guy will come down with it.
Adoree … So this stat is meaningless?
Yes, people stay shitting on the guy.
The gap between 2 and 3 is really pronounced. It gives Q something to aspire to as he continues to evolve his already impressive game.
That checks out, he’s always following his guy closely until it’s time to actually break up the pass. He’s ranked 101st/107 CBs this year, compared to Ringo, who is ranked 63rd/107. Q is 31st/107 and Coop is 3rd/107 for reference. At this point, Ringo should be the #2 and then see if any of the other guys like Bennett or Alexander can contribute too.
I know that ain’t who I think it is 🤣
stats in a vacuum
i suppose one could take from this that adoree is good in coverage but cant finish the play
