  1. My dads been dead for over a decade, decent man, but to this day I will never forgive him for letting me be a Jets fan. This dad should do the honorable and decent thing and allow his kids to become Colts fans like they requested

  2. Posting reactions from your kids (unable to understand and consent to the complicated internet world) is shitty. Even as fellow Jets fans.

  3. I only buy retired players jersey. This team has done absolutely nothing to deserve my money they already squander my time and happiness

  4. Thank god I protected my son from the misery of being a Jets fan. Unfortunately, he has to watch me suffer miserably knowing this team can never have nice things for long.

  5. it’s just a never ending cycle of father’s forcing this tormented fandom onto their sons because their father’s did it to them.. and it all traces back to that goddamn fucking glorious cursed superbowl

  6. This is why you buy jerseys with either your own last name, or an OG player like Chrebet, Mangold, Martin, Namath, etc.

  7. Thinking the jets trading his favorite player is his saddest moment when 50 years from now he will be wondering why his team hasnt won a superbowl in over 100 years

  8. Good learning opportunity for teaching your kid something. Idk what since I’m not a parent and I don’t feel like thinking too hard about this. But there’s definitely something to be learned here

  9. Bears fan here. NYJ pops up in my feed pretty often — kindred spirits in many ways I suppose haha.

Anyway, chiming in to post that I’ve on numerous occasions purchased a $16 piece of fabric from China on Amazon that serves as a new nameplate for recycled jersey numbers. For example, I turned a #1 Justin Fields jersey into a #1 Jaylon Johnson jersey. Way cheaper than buying a new jersey and turns something valueless into something valuable. Helps to have someone in your family who is decent with a sewing machine (in my case my mom :)).

  10. Not the biggest Mike Florio fan but he had a [scathing write up of Woody Johnson](https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jordan-travis-woody-johnson-asked-you-ever-gonna-get-healthy) yesterday that I wholeheartedly agree with:

“So, yes, the Jets are trying to take one step back in the hopes of someday taking multiple steps forward. But, like every chronically dysfunctional team, the tone is set at the top of the organization. Johnson’s alleged comments to Travis provide yet another concrete example of the fact that, for as long as he runs the team, it makes little sense to expect true and sustained success.”

Get out while you still can kids – there’s only pain and suffering for you here!

  11. The disservice to his kids talking how they got draft picks and it’s going to workout, like the team hasn’t been the laughing stock of sports long before they were even born

  12. 2 years ago I bought the following jerseys on the grounds that I thought they were going to be the best shots on the team for years:

    – Quinnen
    – Sauce
    – AVT

I also bought a Rodgers jersey for my then 8 year old, but I figured he would have for a few years and grow out of it.

    Just sad

  13. Something that has gotten lost in modern sports is the enjoyment for younger fans and families to just enjoy the team. Players move so much that it is rare to really become too attached to anyone except maybe the once a generation franchise QB and even they often move towards the end of their career. It’s rough.

  14. I only bought no jerseys ever because they look ridiculous. (And yes I deserve the downvotes but I’m just being real with my Reddit bros.) And I don’t have a girlfriend to wear it around the house on Sunday morning. You know the look. I’m married…and my wife would never wear that 🙁
I did however wind up with a signed Falcons jersey…that I have never worn and did not buy. Its worth $49.

  15. I’m with the kid but save the jersey. I’m done with the Jetes and off to be a Seattle Seahawks fan recycling my Sam Darnold grey alternate jersey from 2019

  16. My 8-year-old daughter asked me why we like this team and I didnt have an answer for her

  17. Still sporting my spotless Coles jersey all these years later.

May add a Chrebet in the future.

  18. My son, who wore his Gardner jersey all last year, finally out grew it and we just sold to another kid. We got rid of it just in time!
