YEAH, AND IT JUST SHOWS THAT THEY’RE WILLING TO MAKE THAT STRATEGIC MOVE NECESSARY TO TRY TO GET BETTER AND IT GIVES THEM EXCLUSIVE NEGOTIATING RIGHTS WITH RASHID SHAHEED FOR THE REST OF THIS SEASON. AND UNTIL I, IT’S NOT LIKE THEY’RE GOING ON HIM UNLESS HE WOULD JUST ABSOLUTELY EXPLODE. BUT EVEN THEN, THIS IS A SITUATION WHERE THEY GET HIM AND THEY HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO KEEP HIM AND HE CAN HELP THEM AND HE CAN DIVERSIFY THAT OFFENSE. This will help the run game so much. They will have to run 2 high all the time!
Also can't be overlooked how complete of a receiver he is. Obviously the speed and the deep shots make the highlight reels, but if you've watched Saints games the last couple years, especially the first bit of last year while everyone was healthy, he's running all the routes in that Kubiak offense.

Shaheed a proven entity. Perfect fit with our injuries to WR room and to Kubiak offense.
Sadly history tells us that Seattle is incapable of sending more than one of its pro teams deep into the postseason in a single year. Thus the Seahawks are a very poor bet to reach either the NFC Championship or the SB.
Let’s not forget Darnold is amazing! If Geno stuck around I don’t think this season would have unfolded like this! I wish my broncos would have picked up Shaheed
To be fair when Simms made his NFC west predictions, I’m paraphrasing he did say something to the effect that his picks could easily be flipped and he would not have been surprised.
Simms is a hypocrite and can't admit he was wrong about Seattle. Nobody realized how bad Grubb was and how overrated DK was. Now he likes Seattle. 🤣

Slow your roll, boys and girls. As of right now, Shaheed is a *rental.* His contract is up this year so his shelf life on the team run out on Valentine's Day.
IF the Seahawks make a deep run in the playoffs and IF Shaheed gels well with the coaches, the system and the team culture, and IF Shaheed feels he's getting enough targets, and IF Seattle can afford him, Shaheed MIGHT be a Seahawk next year. As with every other mid-season pickup on an expiring contract, odds are running 60/40 he won't be. This is absolutely no jab a Rashid Shaheed, his abilities or what he brings to the Seahawks This is just how the business of the No Fun is run.
Speaking as a lifelong Seahawk fan, I'm not rushing out to buy his jersey just yet.
If I were asked [and I wasn't], I would have preferred getting some help for the LBs than a WR2, but that's just me.
The move is not as much about opening the run game. This O was JSN dependent. 1 hammy and the team goes into the toilet.
We needed a WR to complement JSN and compete with Philly, Detroit, LA, GB and TB. Yes, it can help the run game. No doubt. But it's about adding WR weapon to limit risk and JSN dependent
Chris Simms needs to take a deep breath and relax. Rasid is a bust or Randy Moss. Nobody in the history of the Seattle Seahawks is a DEEP THREAT unless you're Steve Largent, Joey Galloway, Doug Baldwin and DK Metcalf. In order to put him in that category, Rasid needs to start every down and every snap. What does that mean? He needs to be on the side as a No.2 WR. This is the biggest gambe that John Schneider is betting on and John, Mike and Clint should listen to this message. DO NOT PUT HIM IN SLOT. If you use him as Randy Moss, he will become Randy Moss. If you use him as slot receiver, you have just wasted valuable 4th and 5th round draft picks. That's the bottom line.
