Manager Craig Albernaz’s First Day | Baltimore Orioles

You guys ready? Wait, that is this? Yes, that’s the camera. The TV? Yes. For the content, it’s a microphone so they hear everything you’re saying. Yes, the duck in here. Good to see you guys are not shy of the camera. Congratulations. Am I taking a photo with you? Yeah. Congratulations. Thank you. Yeah, we’re really excited. Thank you. the first. Well, we’ll see. Thank you. You guys ready? Hugs. A great upman. You better get up, Norman. Come on, Norman. You can jump higher than that. Yeah, that’s a good look. All right, let’s go. [Music] in there. Yeah. Oreo. Look at the jacket. Yeah. Come on. [Music] Inside. Go pocket. Another little oil bird. Oreo pin. Yeah. Orange buttons. He took out the black buttons. Put the orange buttons. Got the boys to match to. Well, I got one new pair, which is what I’m wearing. And then luckily in San Francisco with black and orange, so I have a few. I got some Jordans, four Jordans. I got a pair of Griffies as well. We’re ready to go. We’re ready to go. I would say I would pitch you one, but this place is way too nice. Come on. [Music] Show it. Show it. You shaking his head. You love it. I love it. Put it in your room. Yep. Okay. I wore the hat. I’m just jealous of their pants. They have like stretchy almost like noodle pants. Yeah. Go GG. Go get them. Move those legs. Yeah. Hey, remember watching the Homeline Derby? Like Ken Griffy Jr. Did you see in the warehouse? Look how far that is. All right. You want to do a funny one now? You silly. There you go. 67. 67. How many times you going to do that today? Six. Seven. [Music] The end of the season. Oh, that’s awesome. Mhm. Full ball hit right here. Yeah. Craig, you have one former teammate that has one on you. The minor leagues. Do you know who that would be? One former minor in the left hand. That would do it. Um, Luke Scott. Luke Scott. He has four of them. That would make sense. No, no right-handed hitter has ever hit one out of I love Mockinguire. Yeah, I was a sneaky Oakland Ace fan growing up. Yeah, I can name that whole team. Yeah, even grew up in Massachusetts. I used to get a lot of crap with all my friends about being an Oakland A fan. But yeah, I love Barry Bonds. We just thought it was cool to be in San Francisco. Um, I’ll see you upstairs. I mean, obviously watching Kyle Ripton, I used to imitate his stances all the time because they change every week. Yeah, they change every week. Change within the game. Yeah, I know. Yeah, the This is This is really cool. Of course, Frank. Yeah, so many underrated ball players. So many even position players playing 10 years in the big leagues. That’s unbelievable. It’s a hard league. It is. Yeah. There’s no league above this. So, a lot of a lot of these really good players that were older and they played like a long time ago, they did everything that we talk about now. He was really good, buddy. He does the uh he does the TV for the games, too. So, a lot of these a lot of these guys play different sports like Cal Ripken. So, what he used to do for his offseason workouts, he would play pickup basketball. Yeah. He would have these epic pickoff uh pickup basketball games and that’s how he stayed in shape in the offseason. Played soccer in high school. Yep. This is this is really cool like for the fans too to come out and hang out like before the game and stuff. Yeah. We have the flag court. Yep. You know above right. Yep. Which u when the ballpark was was open the scoreboard was actually higher. It was about 5 ft higher. Okay. Um, so if you were there, you would lean on the top of the store. Mhm. And it came out, you know, this far. But fans, you know, if you were, you know, Yeah. height restricted, you couldn’t see over the wall. You say I’m short. I didn’t say that. I am short, so I’ll say it. Yeah. I got thick skin. I have thick skin in this game. Kids I mean kids had no shot. Doug else where I need a little step stool, you know. I grab I grab the cooler and stand on it. Yeah. I’m not scared. What a great view of the game. Ballparks like this, they just hit different, you know. Yeah, they just hit different. Yeah, no pressure. Thanks. Go ahead. Go next to Hall of Famer. Yeah. Oh, [Music] you good to see you. Good to see you, too. This guy, good to see you. Really, really know how to fool people. I know. Is that Bodie? [Music] crushing. How’s it going? How’s it going? That was good. Oreos got his kids. Yeah, the kids are eating all the M&M’s all over the place. Yeah. The next manager of Baltimore Orio, Craig Alberise. Such a historic franchise is the Baltimore Orioles. It really is a dream come true. And I just can’t wait for the fans to come out to watch our boys compete because we’re going to play some very exciting brand of baseball. And as Mike alluded to, it’s going to be a great bounceback year for this group. And I can’t wait. I’m excited. Sitting down with Craig and hearing the feedback that we got from the many other people that interviewed him, it was clear that this was just a really good fit all around. Thank you. [Music] Perfect. You guys look great. There you go. So, you’re getting used to the bat. Hey, you have enough rosin on your pants. There you go, Norman. Just got used to that heavy bat. Oh, you swinging. Look at the camera. Yeah. Okay. You ready? Okay. Swing. Oh, bad toss. Ready. Swing. Go. Run. Run. Run. Run. Run. Run. Run. Run. Run. Run. Ready. [Music] Good job, Gigi. Yo. Oh, Appleo Taco. Come on. Let’s go. Let’s go. Heavy. It’s heavy. I got it. You got it. Ready? One, two, three. Swing. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. Go. All right, pick them up. The way I feel about my family is the way I feel about the players and the coaching staff and the rest of the organization. So, we need to have that close-knit, tightknit feel like, yes, there’s going to be bad moments. There’s going to be tension just like in any family. They know where you stand and also they have a feeling that they’re trying to help you get better in the best way possible. You going over here? Yeah. Yeah. I got an eagle right here. That’s a Oreo. Yeah. You guys, you guys did say clean for a long time. So, I’m proud. There you go, guys. It’s been outstanding. Just the way the the whole organization has welcomed my family and also myself. First and foremost, as long as my family feels comfortable and can be themselves, supported, it only makes me happier. So, it’s been outstanding throughout the course of the day. [Applause] Thank you for everything. There a lot of work that goes in behind the scenes and I mean this whenever I say it, but whoever is wearing a B memorials logo, you’re a part of what we do on the field. So, we appreciate you. Thank you. I think I’m ready for class now. [Music]
