Jets UNEXPECTEDLY TRADE Sauce Gardner to Colts + Seattle’s newest WR 👀 | NFL Trade Deadline Special

More can you say about S Gardner going to the Colts? I think this was the one that caught people by surprise. Quinnon Williams there had been a lot of chatter about. This was the one that all of a sudden came out of nowhere. Sauce Gardner tweets out that it was great being in New York and people thought it was a joke. They thought it was a joke that he was saying like you weren’t expecting S Gardner to be dealt. But the deal is that the Colts felt like they had a window now. They’ve got the best record in football. They’re sitting there on top of the AFC. They have a chance to win the division. They have a chance to get homefield advantage. They have a chance in the first season without the late great Jim Ersce to have a memorable season. And so this reminds me a little bit of the Commanders last year when the Commanders had an unexpectedly great year. And right at the deadline, they traded for Marshon Latimore. They went out and did that. Now, the Indianapolis Colts have gone out and traded essentially the price that the Packers got or the Cowboys got back from Micah Parson, which now the Cowboys use some of that capital. It’s kind of interesting. He wants in a player to get a frontline defensive starter. There aren’t many quarterback quarterbacks, if any, that are much better than Sus Gardner. And to get a player of that stature, that magnitude, the Colts felt like they had to give up double ones. and AD Mitchell and they did. And not only is he a frontline player, he’s a perfect fit with Louis anaruma. I work with Lou in Miami. He wants to play man-to-man. Actually, we drafted Xavian Howard, who ironically was with them for a couple weeks earlier in the season. It’s that same prototype. It’s length. It’s somebody that could have really good ball skills. The Colts were 29th guys on third down defense. It wasn’t good enough. This is a frontline player in the prime of his career that’s a perfect scheme fit. So when you check all those boxes, it’s allow it allows Chris Ballard to take this calculated risk. And to your point about them being surprised, I was texting with AJ Vaynerchuk of Vayner Media, who uh represents Sauce Gardner, and his words were shocking and stunned. They had no idea this was coming. So not only were are we surprised, but so was S. S’s brother is his agent, and they said they had no idea anything was going to happen, but they did hear, I believe, from some of the coaching staff once that had already happened. Now, there had been a lot of chatter across the league that the Indianapolis Colts were making a lot of calls and checking in on frontline defensive players. And there were a lot of names that I thought of that could wind up in Indie. But of all the names I thought of, if I’m being honest, S Gardner was not one of the names that I expected to wind up in Indianapolis. You were probably thinking pass rush. Someone to go opposite Liatu Latu. Even though right now in terms of sacks, they’re what they’re top 10 in the NFL in sacks. They’re 11th in QBR allowed third interception. So they still Louis has still been able to kind of hold it together, especially in the back end with a very, let’s just say, less than star-studded secondary, but now, as Mike just alluded to, they’re in the top half of the league in terms of, you know, the frequency with which they like to play man coverage, that’s about to go up, especially with this dude cuz this guy is a lock down chess piece. He is a guy who you can move around and see. So now as they get into the meat of their schedule and they get into the postseason and you’re dealing with teams that have absolute game breakers in the AFC, Sauce is one of those movable pieces now that you can move around. Now if they still have enough, do they still have enough pass rush? Is pass rush going to still be an issue for them once they get into the postseason? We will see. But Lou has done a fantastic job this year after last year being like unceremoniously just dumped out of Cincinnati. Bengals defense still stinks. So you know, you know what I’m saying? I mean it it kind of tells the tale. Yeah, as far as how that goes. But yeah, this is a heck of a move for Chris Ballard. This is a heck of a like a redemption year for Chris Ballard and the Colts overall. And speaking of redemption, the other thing this trade screams to us is Daniel Jones is the Colt quarterback for the foreseeable future. It’s amazing. A couple months ago, we’re sitting here in August saying, is it Anthony Richardson or Daniel Jones? Now trade away all these draft choices, it’s Daniel Jones who doesn’t have a contract for next year. So either they sign him to a deal that I think is probably in the Baker Mayfield range or I’m sure they’re going to franchise him. Obviously, this is a strong signal that we are set at the quarterback position. Yeah, it it looks like they’re going all in. The Seahawks also doing that. We’ll talk about that in just a little bit. And a reminder that Adam Schffer has told us this is one of the wildest, most significant trade deadlines we have seen. There’s still more time for things to happen, right? Look, the these are two veterans of this sport. Have you ever remembered a trade deadline where there was more significant action than this one? I’m asking. We’ve done a lot of shows like this, dude, in our time. Never. I mean, especially I’m s sitting in the green room. I mean, I’m hearing people in the studio here before we come on air screaming, “Whoa, what?” They’re doing what? I mean, so that just tells you right there, this is there’s a lot of juice going on today. There is a lot of these teams that believe they can be contenders. They said, “We hit November. We’re going all in. We’re going to make something happen.” Go ahead, Mike. And I know we’ll get it later in the show, but I think this has massive impact of in April in terms of next year’s draft and what some teams are going to be doing. Well, as Adam said, the Jets have set themselves up to control the draft already. Jets to the Cowboys. We’ve also seen S Gardner go to the Colts. But how about this? Rasheed Shahed going to Seattle. This is a massive move, Adam Shepard. Well, the New Orleans Saints had three receivers who are up in the air. Rasheed Shahid, Chris Olavi, and Brandon Cooks. Brandon Cooks is a veteran. Chris Olavi is a player they want to resign and keep in New Orleans long term. Rasheed Shahed, his contract was up after this year. And so the Saints looked around and the situation they’re in and they decided, you know what? If we can get back two draft picks the way they did today, a fourth and a fifth round pick for a player who’s set to become a free agent who we may not be paying in the future, why would we not do that? And so New Orleans goes ahead. There had been a lot of speculation and expectation that Shahed would be the one receiver that the Saints would trade today and they did. I think the surprise was that it was the Seattle Seahawks. Like you heard the Pittsburgh Steelers, you heard the Buffalo Bills, you heard the Denver Broncos. Was anybody talking about Seattle who has Jackson Smith in Jigba who’s got Cooper Cup who’s got double tight ends? Got Tory Horton, the rookie that emerged on Sunday night again. Was anybody expecting the Seahawks to add a deep threat like that to Sam Darnold’s arsenal? Yeah, I think look, their GM John Schneider is all in right now. He realizes he’s at a quarterback that it’s not by accident that he is number two in total QBR, number two in CPOE, completion percentage above expected. Sam Darnold is playing out of his mind right now. And he’s got two just stud tight ends, a running game that needs to get going. But right now, look, he has built this wide receiver room absolutely perfectly. Think of what JSN brings to him as far as a guy who can play inside and outside. Rasheed is a vertical field stretcher. when Cooper comes back and he’s healthy, he is the best, one of the best slot receivers in the entire NFL. And then Tory Horton as a youngster now, he’s the guy who’s a three position three tool player, too. So, this offense right now is willing is able to deal with any team in the NFL in terms of pure firepower. But there is no question that Sam and the way he is playing is the driving force behind why now they you feel comfortable just adding and picking and choosing pieces to kind of continue to add to this offense. They need to solidify the middle of this offensive line for sure and get the running game going because it’s yards per carry is not where it needs to be. But wow, just Seattle’s loaded now. I I want to hear what you have to say, but just quickly when you think about you already thought Seattle’s a contender. How much of a difference do you think this makes? Is it that dramatic to where you say, “Okay, this pushes them over some sort of edge.” Or did you already think they were there? Yeah, they they were there, but I mean, you’ve seen the highlights on Rasheed. You’ve seen his whole whole career. He is a game breaker. He he will win the game on one play for you. And now you got two of those guys because JSN has shown that he can do that too. And Tory Horton’s no slouch. And when Cooper comes back, I mean, come on now. It’s a lot to deal with, especially when the quarterback is sitting here playing. Don’t forget about me. I’m in MVP race, right? So yeah, I I agree. It’s it all makes sense. I’m a little surprised we’re not talking about Bree Hall to the Seahawks because that’s the one thing they don’t have is Wait, really fast. Bree Hall, you think he’s going to be traded? The Seahawks or just to anywhere? Well, my point is here here’s another young explosive offensive player in the last year of his deal. Kenneth Walker is a good player. Zack Charmin is a good player. They’re loaded at receiver and if you get a home run threat contracts up after this year, too. So, they have three players on expire. That’s what No, my point is like if you’re the if you’re the Seahawks because you already have all these really good productive players at receiver. If you’re going to take a shot at an expiring contract, why not someone like Bree Hall? But I totally agree with what Luc said. This team is complete and this just makes them better. The one question is going to be their I mean we’re nitpicking here. Their right guard and and running back position. I feel like that was a no about Bree Hall potentially to the CE. Well, look here here’s the deal. Here’s the deal. Good idea though. I think I think a lot of players in New York right now are saying, “What’s going on here?” You got Quincy Williams tweeting, Bree tweeting emojis, a lot of questions. You know, you know what’s going on there. I mean, Mike, we were just talking about in the green room. They’re sending a message to this football team overall like, “Hey, look, these guys were a pillar players.” They were cornerstone players. S is a cornerstone player. Yes, Quinnon is a cornerstone player, but something has to be done dramatically to shake up the fabric of what’s going on there because it’s almost like it’s almost like woven too far like into it that they can’t really like they can’t extract it without just like taking everybody and saying, “Look, we got to start over.” And that’s what they’re trying to do. Exactly. It definitely does. Um, all right. Let’s leave this here because I want to get to Jacobe Meyers going to Jacksonville. Jacksonville continues to make moves. We saw them doing this in the draft to go up to two to get Travis Hunter. This is obviously a different situation, but Jacobe Meyers comes in less than a week after they announced they were placing rookie wide out Travis Hunter on injured reserve. Well, as my friend Brian Winto would say, you know what’s going on in Jacksonville here that they’re trading for another wide receiver. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Do that again. Let’s put a camera on Adam because we need we need to see that in real time. There we go. What is going on in Jacksonville right here? They’re trading for another wide receiver. you insiders, man. I know. I love it. And and again, here’s the situation as I think it is playing out right now. They also are in position to win that division, potentially make the playoffs, have a great season in Liam Con and James Gladstone’s first year in charge in Jacksonville. They have an opportunity. And last week, Travis Hunter goes down and practice. It’s a knee injury. Thanks. Yeah, he’s out indefinitely. He is out indefinitely. He is on IR. And there are questions about when he’s going to be back this season. Mhm. Brian Thomas Jr. suffered a lowgrade high ankle sprain on Sunday. Now there’s a chance he’s going to be able to play as early as this Sunday, but now you’re missing Travis Hunter. Now you potentially could be without Brian Thomas for a game or two or not. You’re a little short or a little light at the wide receiver position that they care so much about. Liam Con loves his wide receivers and so they see a guy in Jacobe Myers who other teams have really liked, really been interested in and he’s going to be a free agent after this year, but I think they felt like the opportunity was too great not to trade for him and give up a fourth and sixth round pick. Last thing, they had 13 draft picks the upcoming draft this year entering today and still after the trade for Jacobe Myers have 11 picks in seven rounds. One other interesting aspect of this, this allows Travis Hunter, maybe you focus a little bit more on corner because you have Jacobe Myers who’s a really good receiver with Brian Thomas and Travis Hunter obviously he has to get healthy, but maybe this is a way you could solidifi solidify two positions. Receiver with Meyers and Hunter at more at corner. Yeah, look, I think you got to continue to take care of Trevor, too. Now, you can’t have all of his weap. Um, you got to continue to take advantage of the players that are available to make sure that your quarterback is now all of a sudden not just devoid of talent. I mean, [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music]

  1. Who wasn’t expecting him to be dealt???? If the cowboys would come off Parsons what makes you think Jets wouldn’t come off Gardner if he was unhappy with that garbage franchise?

  2. Mike T has the absolutely worst takes I have ever heard I have no idea how he has gotten to where he has. The shock on Adam’s face when he said Breece Hall to the Jets was so perfect😂

  3. Colts are really good and will be next season, at best these are very late 1st rounds, so almost 2nd round picks. Colts also don't really have any positional needs that are worth taking in the 1st round, outside of maybe pass rush. No way they pick high enough for any of Bains Jr, Faulk or Parker and no other pass rushers are worth taking in the 1st round. Ballard has also been a bit hit and miss with 1st rounders, had more success with later picks tbh.

  4. I rlly wanna know who’s the king of being dumb in NY atp is it the Mets for giving Soto 765 giants for not signing saquon then Danny dimes balling out or jets for trading for Adam’s last year and signing the coach this year and trading sauce

  5. I’m sad to see Q & Sauce get traded, but gonna trust that the Jets organization knows what they are doing.
For the few players we got back, let’s see if they can find their role on this team the rest of the year, and for the future.
Just want to win as many games as we can the rest of the year, play hard, create team chemistry & forget the tank mindset.
    Go Jets.

  6. Took me a second, but the fact that the draft pick that the Cowboys got from the Packers in the Micah Parsons trade, they essentially flipped that to get Quinnen Williams for.
So basically, they lost a defensive star for 8 games & got his replacement the rest of the season.

  7. HE AIN'T GONNA WIN ANYTHING WITH THE COLTS.. SHOULD'VE JUST STAYED WITH THE JETS💯💯💯
IF HE WANTED A CHANCE TO GO TO THE SB FROM THE AFC SIDE.. HE SHOULD'VE WENT TO THE CHIEFS OR THE BILLS IMO!!!!!

  8. Sauce is a great player started off amazing but you can’t lie last year he took a slump and he does not tackle so 2 firsts & a young receiver is a steal! Hope the best for sauce though enjoyed your time here!🙌🏾

  9. There was a interview online where a kid wearing a Jets jersey said I hate this team after another lost. I feel like the Owner felt that Boys pain and decided to break the Jets up. Now they get so many 1st round picks and the free money up. They can now draft Archie Manning, and Defensive players. It was a reset and a punishing the players who keep losing. They kept their Offense Breece Hall and Gerrett Wilson and all they need is a consistent quarterback. Meanwhile the Colts have Sauce Gardener on Defense & The best runningback in football on Offense. Thats a start to Winning big. Guess CJ Stroud is not as good as we thought he was. Because the Colts may not have any resistance in their division

  10. Wow the weak before the chargers game smh. 😊how do the chargers not pair him with Derwin James !!!!!!

Jags need to give the ball to Travis more. My goodness. He touches it and will bust for 7 yards and get taken out on 3rd and goal. …. or they'll let the qb sneak it 3 times and get stopped. Feed your runnng backs sometimes. It's ok.

  11. I hope this doesn’t get removed …. But I f*#%ing HATE the Jets YOOOOOOOOOOOOO 🤬🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
