Tennessee Titans fan is absolutely baffled that Jarvis Brownlee has been traded to the Jets…

You know, I I was traveling all day yesterday, really busy, when I got the news of the Jarvis Brownley trade to the New York Jets, and I said, “You know what? I’m waiting till I get back in the office to do a video about this. I’m waiting till I get back in the office because I got too much to say. There’s too much on my mind to do a video in the car or something like that. I’m waiting till I can have that microphone in my hand and do a video in the office.” While I’m in the office, the Titans trade Jarvis Brownley and a seventhround pick to the New York Jets in exchange for a sixthround pick in in the 2026 draft. It’s a headscratcher. Like I don’t like this is just like baffling. Of all the players that I would have expected the Titans to try to shop around and trade at this point, Jarvis Brownley would not have been one of the people I picked. He’s a young player. He just got drafted last year. He was a starter. I don’t know if he would have been a starter at a lot of other teams in the league, but he was a starter for us. And I’m not going to sit here and be like, “Oh man, he was just a stud.” Like what a great player. Like this isn’t like the AJ Brown trade or anything, but it’s pretty good to be a fifth round player who had to play a lot last season because of injuries in the secondary. And yes, he had his issues with penalties and things like that, but like there was a lot to like about Jarvis Brownley. There was a lot of things about him that you could look at and say, “Hey, that could be a building block for this team that’s looking to find building blocks on both sides of the ball.” You’re looking to find guys that you can build around. And a lot of people thought it was a no-brainer that Jarvis Brownley could be one of those guys that you could coach him up, that you could mold him over time and turn him into a pretty darn good corner. Now he’s a New York Jet. I just realized he went from an 0 and3 team to another 0 and3 team. So that sucks for him. You know, it’s a it just I want to know why. Like I really want to know why. If you had asked me like like if you had told me the Titans are going to trade a player this week, who do you think it’s going to be? I would have said Chicka Conquo. I would have maybe said Calvin Ridley. I would have thought about veteran players, you know. I would have thought about veteran players or players that are on the last year of their deal and not playing well or not doing enough to merit coming back next year like Conquo. I would have thought guys like that. Jarvis Brownley was not even a thought and it makes me wonder what’s going on. Some people have said the Titans are trying to send a message with these penalties that he’s been committing and they’re sick of penalties. They preached it all summer that they’re sick of penalties and he’s one of the main culprits that always gets penalties. So, they traded him. They’re sending a message. Number one, if that’s the message they’re going to send, if I’m a player on this team, I’m going to start committing more penalties because I’m going to be like, I want to get traded, too. I want to get out of this out of this crap show, too. I gota say crap show. I don’t want to ruin my Christian witness. You know, I don’t want to be here either. Trade me. I’m going to start committing personal fouls. But also, like, is there not a better way to like, can you not just coach him up? Could you not just like coach him to not commit the penalties? And that’s where I think the issue comes in. I have to believe because this is such a headscratcher because this is so weird. Not only that you traded him, but that you traded him for so little. I mean, a sixthrounder is what you got back for him. I have to believe that there’s something we don’t know. And and everybody’s saying this, so I’m not it’s not like a groundbreaking thing that I’m saying here. There’s something happened that we don’t know. Something behind the scenes. Maybe something as simple as they tried to tell him that he was being too aggressive. You got to stop committing penalties. And he defiantly told them, “I’m not changing a thing.” And they just said, “Okay, well, we can’t we can’t coach you. We can’t have a guy like that in our locker room that’s going to going to openly say he’s going to keep playing in such a way that he’s going to commit penalties. So, we’ll just get rid of him.” Maybe because we heard Jarvis Brownley after the Broncos game in the locker room, he rather defiantly said, “Ain’t nothing wrong with the way I’m playing. I’m not going to change the way I’m playing. I’m playing good. It’s the referee’s fault. It’s it’s somebody like,” and maybe that’s where the disconnect is. We’re trying to coach you up to help you to stop committing these penalties and stop hurting the team, and you’re saying you’re not changing a thing. So maybe that’s the catalyst behind what led to these issues. I have seen some people I heard him talking about it on the Buck Rising show this morning talking about how you know the Titans are just trying to get rid of as many Rancarthon guys as they can because they want their own kind of guys in this new Borgonzi Brinker regime. Maybe there’s some weight to that. But also I don’t think they’re going to be trying to get rid of Peter Scaransky anytime soon. I don’t think they’re going to be trying to get rid of JC Laam anytime soon. I know those are first round guys. Those are a little different than a fifth round corner, but I I don’t think they would be trying to get rid of Tavandre Sweat anytime soon or or some of those other guys. So, it’s just I don’t know. And also, you got to keep in mind while Ran Carthon’s not with us anymore, Chad Brinker was a big part of that and Chad Brinker’s still here. So, Brinker owns some of those, you know, the Jarvis Brownley pick. Chad Brinker was was in the building for that. So, I I don’t know. It’s just weird. If you’re going to try to say, “Well, we’re just trying to get rid of all the guys from the previous regime or administration.” I just don’t know if I buy that completely because this guy was a a fine player and and seemed to be a building block for your future. So, I have to believe if something like if you decided to trade him, there had to be something that happened behind the scenes. And they’re going to do a press conference today in about 30 minutes from when I’m recording this video. And it’s going to be Brian Callahan. I don’t he’s not in charge of the roster. So, I don’t know what he’s going to be able to tell you. I would love to hear from Mike Boronzi or Chad Brinker about this because you’ve already got a fan base that is about to revolt after what we saw on Sunday. You’ve got a fan base that is actively starting petitions to fire the head coach. You’ve got a fan base that’s fed up. You’ve got a fan base that’s on edge and about to go crazy and now you trade one of the guys we viewed as a building block for the future for a sixth round pick. Would love to hear an explanation. And I don’t think we’re going to get one. I don’t think we’re going to get one. I mean, when they fired Vreyel, they had Amy Adams in a pre-recorded, edited together, spliced video on YouTube. Like, I don’t think you’re going to get much from the organization in in the way of an explanation. And Brian Callahan’s not going to be able to give you one. I I highly doubt. But in other another side of this, you have people who are saying, “Well, this is the beginning of the tank. The Titans are about to start off, you know, trading as many guys as they can and they’re already looking to 2026.” I don’t know if I’m willing to say that yet. I think we’re going to get to that point relatively soon. I think we’re a few weeks away from that. But I don’t know if that’s what this move signifies because if that’s what you were going to do, you would already be seeing Calvin I mean Calvin Ridley would be the type of guy you would start hearing rumors about Jeffrey Simmons. You would start, you know, hearing rumors about Ardan Key or Chigga Conquo or guys like that. for it to be Jarvis Brownley of all people to be the first guy out of here. That just tells me that this is something different than just the Titans sitting down and saying, “All right, let’s start selling. Let’s start selling as many of these guys as we can for draft picks.” I just don’t think that’s what this was. I think this was a case of something going on in the locker room, some kind of a disagreement between him and coaches, and they finally just had to say, “We got to we got to get rid of him.” And I don’t know why they couldn’t get anything better than a sixth in return. But like they were saying on Buck Rising this morning, if you’re trading a player that young, most of the other teams in the NFL are going to be like, “Why are you trying to get rid of him?” And they’re going to be hesitant to give you too much because they’re going to be like, “What’s the catch here?” He had obviously dealt with injuries. That’s another thing. His last thing that happened with the Titans is he was in a walking boot on Sunday and he didn’t play against the Colts. So, it’s just a weird situation for the Titans. And and regardless of why it happened, it sucks that it’s happened because I hate to already look to the off seasonason, but if you do, the Titans have so much work on this roster to do. We know edge rush remains a huge need depending on what happens on the interior defensive line. I mean, I don’t think it’s impossible that Jeffrey Simmons could be shopped around at this point. I don’t know if I’m confident that Devandre Sweat won’t be shopped around, but like interior defensive line depth is still going to be an issue. Uh, now corner because I don’t think Legious Sneed’s going to be back next year. So now your top two corners are gone and and you’d like to think that Jaylen Omar Davis or somebody’s going to emerge with the rest of this season like a Marcus Harris who was a sixth round pick last year, but it’s like do we really think that’s going to happen? Like I mean nothing’s impossible. Nothing’s impossible with the Lord. But like there’s just a lot of holes to fill. And I’m just talking about defense offensively. You need wide receivers. Like you need a hole in the head. You you need uh offensive line help like you need oxygen. You need you’re going to need a running back. Assuming Spears is not able to give you everything you need from him. You’re going to need a running back. I mean listen, they might try to trade Tai Spears. He’s a Rancon guy that has been injured a lot. They might try to trade him. It’s just it’s a weird time, man. yesterday with Brian Callahan announcing that he’s giving up the play calling duties and then this trade of Jarvis Brownley. It’s just a weird time. It’s a It’s a strange You can feel the fan base is like on the verge of a riot. It feels like the fan base is on the verge of rioting. Ain’t nothing that a win over Houston on Sunday wouldn’t fix. But I don’t know, man. I don’t know if I can envision us beating anybody right now. Tighten up.

  1. Based off Brown Lee comments after the game it sounds like he was becoming more and more difficult to deal with. I’m just guessing, but he probably lashed out at Dennard Wilson being disrespectful. In in order to save the locker room couldn’t allow that! And I agree we don’t need another Cortland Finnegan on this team! Someone who’s undisciplined difficult to work with despite any talent he may have had!

  2. Yes it's a bad trade I get it but I've heard hear and their and he seems that he has a very firery personality and if that's true you don't want that on a good team or a bad team. Sad to see him go because he had potential.

  3. Not a titans fan… but I do know a lot about the Jets. 😂 I can tell you this- THEY DONT MAKE SMART DECISIONS…. Like ever. Since he was traded specifically to Jets/dumbest organization in the league, I’d feel confident there is some sort of legit issue with him. The jets traded for Reddick last season, after he refused to play until he got a new contract, and then refused to give him the contract after 😂 so traded away a draft pick for a dude who refused to play for them… Brownlee must’ve been an issue behind the scenes

  4. people need to take a step back and think about the why before running onto X, reddit or youtube and just voice their emotional opinions.

he was a below average player who gave over 120 QBrating when targeted while also inflicting penalties. he wasn not someone that is a top future starter, mold him, or whatever. he was out there, he played, it wasnt good. Now we dont know what happened behind the scenes, maybe he was dismissive after the fact, arrogant, you name it. we dont know. we just see players play, from time to time an interview but thats it.
He was not the cornerstone of our team, far from it. This trade is irrelevant.

Whats relevant is that we need to ship out aged players like pollard, ridley, sneed, key, etc. who are just not chaning anything. This team needs to kick off a rebuild and push the age down for once. Get all the picks, tank for #1 overall, trade back for more picks, and hope that Brogonzi isnt an idiot.

Fire Callahan, Fire Brinker, let everyone go from the past regime, and rebuild this team around Ward. It's enough, and while many are calling for amy to sell the team already, im questioning too as to why a guy like Chad Brinker is still employed after the shit this team took over the past years.

  5. The Titans alway hire the worse head coaches with very limited skills for the job like the former coach here and current head coach of the Patriots who is really bad

  6. This really ruined my mood, somehow even though I was already miserable as a fan. Like what? You trade a young starter for a 6th round pick? What are you hoping to get out of that 6th rounder? A potential young starter? Like holy shit this team continues to just get more and more ridiculous

  7. Yeah I don't get it also… but Brownlee was a decent player… he hasn't been coached up… cause why did we get Sneed… n KC he played well n now he get's here n all of sudden he can't play… can it may be not a good DB Coach…

  8. Also why do u think all of sudden Ridley can't catch… he was b4 n to all of sudden everyone wants to ask getting rid of him… as a fanbase we r so freaking finkel n u can say want u want… there r dedicated fans n finkel fans… we r so quickly to jump the gun so to speak… having opinions to do this n do that… maybe it's just being impatient… just seems always to jump the gun to me… I've been a fan of this Franchise since Warren Moon… yes u get frustrated absolutely… u gotta sometimes take step back… mostly wit comments as a fan it's so emotional… n really looking at things…

  9. Dumb move after Dumb move !!!! Ever since aj trade we have been a joke!!! And keep making dumb decisions!!!! Period!!!! At this point I should be the coach!!!!! I couldn’t do any worse!!!!! 😂

  10. Without speaking on the merits of the player, who as a Colts fan I do not know: a player plus a 7th round pick for a 6th round pick is basically the same thing as cutting a guy.

I suppose there is a salary cap benefit, assuming the Jets pick up the tab on his contract.
