He was a bit rusty on he first got on the floor but soon became impactful on both sides of the ball with a final statline of 16 PTS, 2 REB on 6/7 FG 1/2 form 3 and 3/4 from the line

On a nore positive note Jeremy made his season debut tonight

  1. As someone who hasn’t been the biggest fan of Jeremy, one thing I can say is, I see one thing with Jeremy this season, which really, has been a fairly pleasant thing:

    His maturity.

I mean.. even the hair dyed to a more “natural” color. The switch to a more “traditional” freethrow. Either he’s really trying hard to get that next paycheck, or he’s really matured.

Either way, I’m happy the Spurs get to change up looks when he’s on the court. He seems to provide more of an inside, cutter presence. We may not need him to shoot so many threes, but really, just cut, have some different looks around the basket, and defend. I still don’t think he’s starter material, but a back-up four who can give us different looks besides the traditional 5 man-out setting is something I can go with.

But yeah, it’s one game, but he showed well today. Hopefully that continues.

  2. First game back and immediately plays backup 5. This man must be tired of playing out of position for 2 straight seasons now lol

  3. Don’t forget Olynyk and Waters III also coming out for the first time (of regular season)!

  4. IIRC Sochan was like the Spurs second best player in the early parts of last season, then had the back injury + then had to play backup 5 in the second half. A very useful player to have available when healthy.

Sochan and Harper are really the only ones that cut effectively in the squad, which helps alleviate some pressure on Wemby when he is driving or stuck. Castle did it well at UCONN so maybe with Fox back he rediscovers some of those off ball instincts.

  5. I missed the game, but I’m so glad our menace is back on the court and playing well. I swear he will be an important part of a playoff series where he gets night after night to mentally screw with the same people.

  6. he was great! him and stephon locked up luka. luka’s stats look good until u see the dude had almost as many shot attempts as points and that’s with the fact he made 13 free throws.

  7. So so glad he’s back, also always fun to see dorks crying about him talking shit in the NBA sub

  8. Sochan is as good a point of attack defender as Castle. Those two plus Wemby are a nightmare defensive lineup for other teams, especially if you have a big point like Harper out there too.

Just need to make sure you have enough shooting in that lineup, either by adding a Barnes/Vassell/Champagne at the 4 spot or getting 2 of them improved enough to be above average from 3.

If you could get Harper and Castle/Sochan to be average to above average shooters we could run Kornet, Wemby, Sochan, Castle and Harper which would probably be the best defense in the league.
