  7. How likely is an Ayton all star nod, if the Lakers remain top 2 and he maintains his numbers around 18/10 with good efficiency (and solid defense)? Wiggins did it, so why can’t Ayton?

  9. What I like about this is it has been consistent throughout the games. Well, probably minus the first game.

    And he’s doing this in different line ups as the Lakers have not string many games with their star players. So it’s not like it’s working only with Reaves, or only with Luka, or he only does this when both are out.

    No, he’s balling game in and game out. At least so far in this young season.

  13. Considering JJ is a coach that DEMANDS a lot from his players that is really good to hear he is singing praises about Ayton.

    For the longest while the ‘narrative’ on Ayton was that he was a player who wasn’t willing to play hard and sacrifice.

    If he stays healthy this is an amazing pickup for the Lakers at $8 million.

  14. Man I don’t think I’ve felt this much joy watching the Lakers in a while. I loved the 2020 squad and the fact that we won a ring, but we knew Bron wasn’t getting any younger and we’re on borrowed time. But this squad
    truly feels special with crazy potential for years to come.

  22. a lot of guys like it when they get yelled at if they need extra motivation. ayton doesnt need like that type of player, he needs loving teammates and a loving coach who all believe in him. maybe thats why ayton and monty williams never meshed together, cause monty was too tough on ayton while ayton just needed words of encouragement

  29. I do genuinely love to see it. Ayton was a dude I watched that frustrated the hell out of me because the talent and physical tools were soooooooo obviously there. He has great touch around the rim, has a very solid midrange game, athletic as hell, he should be an absolute force. And yet he was regressing year after year in Phoenix and Portland and I thought that was really unfortunate. I’m glad to see him thriving with the lakers.
