I’m giving the Dolphins trade deadline a C. I was heavily disappointed by only trading away one veteran in Jaylen Phillips. But I do like that trade. Like I think trading Phillips and getting a day two selection was a very good and smart move by Miami. I actually applauded Champ Kelly for making that deal. Although some people didn’t like that trade because they converted some of Phillips money into a signing bonus which spans that across uh multiple years which means there is a little bit of a dead cap hit for Jaylen Phillips next year but it’s not going to be anything significant less than I think $2 million at this point with some of that money being this year of course but this being the only trade shock disappointed I thought you could have maybe got a third round pick for Minka Fitzpatrick I thought you could have got a fourth or fifth for Bradley Chub but probably closer to a fifth round pick, but Phillips ultimately the only one. Why trade away ALL the veterans to bring in veterans next year who don't know the city, facility or the culture? That's not smart, imo. It's the SAME crap we did last time, and look where we are now? Can't keep doing the same thing and expect different results. I'm glad we're (at least for now) keeping a core of solid, proven veterans to help usher in the new regime. Replace Tua and we're rebuild the front line on both sides of the ball, sweet talk Darren Rizzi into coaching special teams again, and we're in business for next year
I don't know if they could do anything with the contracts we owe everyone. Who would trade for those bums

Gave up Philips for a bag of chips tbh but he has missed so many sacks this season it’s not a surprise I really like Philips and hope he does well but I’ll wish he played great this season with us and for the seasons after this one
