So, please subscribe or you’re going to make oo cry. Oo. The Titans have fired by uh Brian Callahan just six games into his second season as head coach. His team was 4-19. The Titans were three and4 in Callahan’s first season, finishing with the number one pick and selecting Cam Ward with Callahan firing the past four quarterbacks drafted number one overall. Six of the past eight see uh seen their head coaches fired during their rookie season. Trevor Lawrence, Urban Meyer, Bryce Young, Frank Wright, Caleb Williams, Matt Eberloose, Cam Ward, Brian Callahan. Oo. Yeah. Who do you think? It’s not It’s not the coaches. It’s It’s not the coaches. It’s It’s the owners. Hey Chad, stay with me real quick and and understand this. The owners have to understand that when it comes to football, right? The owners are businessmen. Huh? and the stuff that they do, the the the stuff that they’re passionate and enthusiastic about outside of football in the business world, the one way to fix it is you throw money at it. You throw money at it and that return on investment, it happens right away. When it comes to the game of football, this ain’t this ain’t a microwaveable play. You don’t you don’t draft a quarterback, have a new coach, and put him out there on the field and think you all are gonna have success right away. That’s not the way it works. That’s never been the way it works. Now, sometimes you get a quarterback like you get a CJ Shrider, you get lucky. You get a Jaden Daniels and you get lucky. You get a franchise altering quarterback right away. That changes the trajectory and speeds up the process of being a consistent team that can win. But listen, I Brian Callahan getting fired obviously first year with Cam Ward. It it’s it’s not the microwave. This ain’t food. You can’t just put in there and heat it up and all of a sudden thing you going to have success. It just doesn’t happen like that. It never has. They don’t have patience. Oo. They’re not letting anything develop. You know, I have I used to have a saying I get my chickens by smashing the eggs, not by letting them hatch. There’s a process in which an egg hatch into a chicklet. These what these owners are doing. They’re smashing the eggs. They’re not They’re not going to let it hatch. They fired the general manager. They fired Brabel. They firing Ran Carthon. And guess what? Now they fry Brian Callahan. And what what are they doing? They don’t know. Do they do my my my point exactly. So obviously they’re not football people. They’re not. They’re businessmen. They need she is Amy Adams. Okay. I think I think the last is pronounced skunk. Skunk. Okay. Her father, Mr. Bud Adams. Bud Adams. Yeah. Okay. I know who that is. I know who that is. He He passed away and turned it over to her. I don’t know how involved she was at the time, right? So, you inherit this business and if you haven’t invested or spent a whole lot of time in it, you don’t know a whole lot about it. you’re trusting other people to run the business. Now, at least when Jerry passes away, hopefully that’s not for another hundred years. His kids have been in the business from day one. So, they’re going to understand how this business works. Yeah. So, they they have been a part of it since he purchased the team in 1989. They’ve been a part of it. I don’t know how involved she was with it. So, and you’re trusting other people. I don’t know how involved they were with it. So, it’s it’s it’s it’s it’s it’s tough. Oo. It’s tough. And it’s not like a another business because, oo, if your business is not doing well, you just don’t you just don’t sell it. You just don’t scrap your Hey, start buying the CEO, start buying the VP, the COO. You don’t start firing a whole bunch of people. You give it time. Yeah, you have to. You don’t have a choice. You have But but those that are in positions of power, I don’t think they understand how the game of football works. You’re drafting number one for a reason. Yeah. You’re terrible. You’re drafting number one for a reason. That quarterback is going to have his ups and his downs. Yes. I mean, that that’s just that’s the nature of the business. Oh, but they say, “Well, but these young quarterbacks go into dysfunctional franchises. If they was functional, he wouldn’t be there. What the hell? There there’s a reason why you got an opportunity to pick first, right? You’re bad. How would that be fair that Kansas City win the championship and then they get the first pick in the draft? The Eagles win the champ win the Super Bowl, they get the first pick of the draft.” We talked about this the other day is that the Lakers won the championship in 82 and guess what they got? They got to select James Worthy number one overall. Okay. How is that fair? Right. Damn. Yes. No. So, normally the best So, normally the collegiate best player or what is deemed the best player goes to the worst situation because we want that guy to catch up. If we just put the the worst the best players on the best teams, they would stay bad. I just I I they just they’re not going to give it time. Oo. They’re just not going to give it time because you’re going to have to pay these quarterbacks. These quarterbacks are going to be getting $3 million. Three, excuse me. 300 million. Yeah. Absolutely. And so there’s like But this is the problem. This is the problem that scares me. If you only gave Callahan two years, right? You you got you drafted Cam Ward. I’m not sure how much time he I’m not sure how much how many years are on his rookie deal. Do you have the patience with him? They got they got they got four plus to fifth year option. Do you have the patience with him as well? So I I I I don’t know. Stuff like that scares me. It scares me especially when you fire coach that early knowing that you’re drafting or you’re picking in a position you’re picking for for a reason. bringing another coach and still not having the players is not gonna change a goddamn thing. Um I I’m trying to think a quarterback that didn’t I mean hey Baker Mayfield wasn’t uh uh um Freddy K fired doing Baker’s rookie year, right? So it this is not this is not new. This has been going on. You go back the last, you go back the last decade plus and go back to look at them one overall picks and see their quarterbacks get fired during that first year. That’s crazy because a lot of times he was there uh uh the year before and they get the working quarterback and they get you got to go. Yeah. Okay. Hugh Hugh Jack. Okay. Okay. So, see, it’s this is this is not this is not something new. It’s been going on, but I think now we’re starting like, damn. What do you expect from a team that that let Derrick Henry go, you didn’t get anything for him, and you traded away AJ Brown for Trillin Brooks? Trill Brook. Yeah. And now he’s in the dark. He’s in he was in Denver, I think, today or last week working out. So, do you think that is a team that is equipped? No. You let Derrick Henry walk out the door scotfree. You traded AJ Brown. You the be You got You had one of the better coaches, Mike Brael. Yeah. And you fired him. Damn. Who Who going to be the next coach? Well, Mike McCoy is was on the staff, so he’s taking over. He was the head coach at uh the Chargers. So, he’s the interim. He was in he was the offensive coordinator in Denver when the Denver went to that Super Bowl and they got the doors blown off him. Um uh but he uh he’s the s he was at the he I think they were San Diego then and they end up moving they went to the playoffs his first year but then he ended up losing his job. So he he’s the interim um coach at this point in time. I just don’t think I just don’t think uh uh they have an idea. You trade your best player, the best coach you’ve had in a very very long time. You fire him, you’ve gone through two, three general managers in in a span of five years. That’s not that’s not the the continuity that you need in order to build a winning program. I just don’t I just don’t I don’t know if they’re going to get it right this time around either, Joe. Well, listen listen. If they don’t if they don’t get it right, we might as well put our goddamn name in the hat and see if we can come away with. Give us a little opportunity, you know, diversify and we we can diversify our portfolio. No, I’m good. My port portfolio is diversified. Okay. Okay. It don’t it don’t hurt to add a little more now. Can you imagine Shannon Sharp, manager, Tennessee Titans? I I’ve I’ve made it abundantly clear. I want no part. I want to cover the NFL in this capacity. I don’t want to work for an organization, okay? In any capacity, okay? [Music] today. [Music]

  1. Yall should sit this one out. Yall not watching the games or that invested to give a real opinion on the matter. This a headline yall speaking on with very little insight.

  2. Everyone saying he was the worst HC in the league isn’t really informed… the team is @ss there’s hardly any talent on both sides.. the browns however are stocked with talent offense and defense and still they suck??? Who’s worse?

  3. I’m in Nashville I’m Titan Up Fa sho 💯💯. But he was not calling the right plays. Y’all done sold out for the internet foreal capping for views

  4. I would NEVER pay someone to sit at home and make money. They should give a coach the contract to make a team good! Give them a 2 year contract with an team option.

  5. agree w/Och: it's a team game . . . it's not simply about dropping a #1 pick on a team and expecting a complete 180° . . . ya gotta have all the other parts, from the supporting players, the coaches, their game plans and schemes, the front office and ownership.

  6. If im a fan, name me one reaon ehy i should be excited to come to go to a titan's? Other than cam ward & jeffrey simmons i don't see any players that could be a pro bowler anytime

  7. As a first-time HC, and offensive coordinator (who actually calls plays), Tennessee was not a good place for him to start. In addition, he came to a team in rebuild mode. That's too much weight for a person to carry who has no experience. I wish him & his Family the best. He appears to be a good person.

  8. His scheme was bad. His play calling was bad. The man couldn’t lead to save his life. After he gave up play calling duties, there wasn’t anything left for him. Terrible game management. Questionable roster decisions. Thing that does suck about firing him is paying him for the next three season regardless

  9. He wasn't qualified to be hired in the first place. He was never a hc or oc and he was going to do both. Why? In 23 games the team got worse not better. Their was no improvement. Look at the Broncos when Sean Peyton came in. You saw improvement each week.

Callahan didn't know one elbow equals 2 feet. So he doesn't know simple rules.

  10. More conversations like this need to take place in sports. Too many terrible, inept owners and executives out there and it needs to be talked about

  11. Read an article yesterday that said there was family at the game and that "Amy doesn't like to be embarrassed". Article went on to list other actions made by the head office that they felt were made emotionally. Don't know what actually happened, but we'll see the results soon.
