[Charania] The Indiana Pacers are waiving guard Mac McClung, sources tell ESPN. The reigning three-time NBA dunk contest champion signed a multiyear, non-guaranteed with the Pacers last week and scored 6.3 points in 11.3 minutes per game over three contests.

The Indiana Pacers are signing veteran point guard Monte Morris with their newly open roster spot, sources tell ESPN.

  1. I get the wanting to live in America thing but this guy is a dunk contest merchant who could be playing meaningful basketball overseas

  2. I can’t imagine being a professional ball player with no job security and so much change of scenery. It almost makes it feel depressing to do what you love with no place to call home.

  3. I don’t know how many times I have to say this. Mac is not an nba player.

    ‘But he can score well’

Okay so can 500 players. He is 26 and not going to get better. He is an undersized microwave scorer who are easy to come by. He doesn’t do anything else well, can’t defend.

Sure there are players worse with spots. They are 18 and have room to grow.

Mac is what he is. And what he is isn’t a serviceable nba player

  4. They only waited 3 games? Did they really expect him to make a huge impact right away? The guy has been toiling in the G League. They should have given him more chances, its not like they are going anywhere this year.

  5. God damn did they find a Draftkings app on his phone or something? That was quick.

  6. Every time I get a Shams notification I pray that it’s “Nico Harrison has been fired.” Disappointment again smh

  7. I was able to go to the Hawks Pacers game and the coaching staff looked fed up with him all game. So this doesn’t shock me

  8. Mac could make a very good living if he just swallowed his pride and played overseas.

I know his dream was to make it in the NBA. But more people know Mac than they do lots of guys who are in the league. He has made an impact on the NBA zeitgeist. He can take pride in that.

Now go play some ball in Italy or something and make some money, brother.

  9. Just go to Europe at this point, Mac. Make some actual cash before you’re 30 and kick your feet up after.

  10. There once was a guard named McClung

Whose name just rolled right off the tongue

He could dunk like no other

    But the GM said, “brother,

Your time here in Indy is done”
