That’s a lot of money to throw away.
Like I get it’s not ideal for him, but plenty of players have gone down to the AHL without causing a fuss.

Is this common behaviour for someone sent down to the AHL? I understand he’s been in the NHL quite a few seasons but… seems a bit bratty
Just to add some more context, Friedman said on 32 thoughts that *“I don’t know exactly what was said…but Kampf did leave players with the Marlies [Leafs’ AHL affiliate] with the impression that he was going to terminate his contract.”*
Friedman went on to say that Kampf has been thinking about his future and considering where he may want to go from here. Does he just end up in a European league?
I’ve never heard of a pro hockey player just quitting their team like that. I guess you could say Roy in 1995 but that’s a different context and also a while ago before I was even born. Crazy situation.

Not a great move on his part. A player that wants to be in the NHL would work tirelessly to be there. Kampf should understand that no one just gets handed their spot on an nhl roster.
