Welcome stags and does of all ages to “Regular Dude Talks Bucks Basketball.” I had so much fun rage baiting last week that I’m back for week 2 overreactions. I’ll start this week with a disclaimer: it’s absolutely way too early in the season to be talking about any of this.
- Kyle Kuzma is still the most important player not named Giannis on this roster.
Like it or not Bucks fans (I don’t) our hopes and dreams hinge on Kyle Kuzma. He’s still the only guy on the roster with the physical tools to match up with any of the top wings in this league. He’s been playing well so far this season but it seems consistency is going to be our biggest struggle this year.
- KPJ can’t come back soon enough.
I’m not usually one to want to rush someone back from an injury but with our turnover issues it’s obvious we need a true primary ball handler on the floor. As well as Light Skinned Blade and Cole Anthony have been at times, they are both pretty inconsistent. I don’t personally trust Ryan’s handle at this point and watching him in the starting pg role has only reaffirmed my belief that he’s a 2 guard not a pg. While I feel more comfortable when Cole brings the ball up, we desperately need another ball handler to be on the floor when he’s not.
- Adam Silver should be removed from office. #silverout
I’ll typically be the last person to blame the refs for a loss or even for a players foul troubles (looking at you AJ). With that being said, it’s honestly ridiculous at this point. The first 2 games with consistently terrible calls I chalked it up to human error. By game 3 I started to question my sanity. 2 nights ago I realized I was sane and it’s clear what they’re doing. I don’t know if Adam Silver thinks nobody watches games in his “highlight league” anymore but I think it’s about time we #impeachadamsilver. With the amount of scandals and blatant corruption he must be one of the worst commissioners of all time.
- We are not a championship team.
While we may have some talent on both sides of the ball we’re still missing 2 key ingredients to a championship run. Consistency and taking care of the ball. I’m sorry guys, championship teams don’t turn the ball over like this. We’ll see if this gets ironed out with the return of KPJ and more reps throughout the season. If it doesn’t please don’t get your hopes up. The consistency thing doesn’t bother me as much since we opted for the offense by committee approach. With that being said, we will need to have at least one non-freak on the roster do his job at a high level every night come playoff time.
Don’t worry too much Bucks fans, even off the back of a terrible loss to a beatable team I’m still having more fun watching this Bucks team than any in recent memory. I hope y’all can sleep easy knowing that Regular Dude is here to overreact to every game so that you don’t have to 😘.

Kuzma is complete garbage. He’s not even a good defender.
We’ve had one ugly loss in eight games played. I’ll take it.
Bucks in 6
We need like one more guy who’s 6’7” ish and idk if I even care who it is
Kuzma is not the most important non-Giannis player on the roster. Or if he is, it’s because his contract plus picks this summer can probably improve the team. It’s not to say he’s been terrible. He’s actually been okay so far which is a nice surprise, but something playing as few minutes as him will never be the second most important player.
The second most important player is either Rollins, because having a young, unexpectedly good player on a cheap contract isn’t something they’ve had much of recently, or turner because him and giannis are the only reason so far that the bucks have a passable defense.
Bobby is a problem. He doesn’t fit our defensive style and he ruins the offensive flow. Love the guy but he’s a negative on the floor for this team.
Look at the teams Hakeem Olajuwon actually won with and just try to tell me people thought they were championship teams – especially the first year – Vernon Mawell was a ticking time bomb, and Sam Cassell was too young to guide a team to the top, especially with Shaq, Penny Hardaway and the crew running through the East like a team possessed.
Until EVERYTHING POSSIBLE went wrong.
This team does have the talent to win a championship, but it won’t come easy.
Need KPJ back
Feelin like right now playing both Cole Anthony and Ryan Rollins is needed but having both get minutes down the road makes the team so small. Like GTJ is probably really 6’4″, AJ as well. Lotta players under 6’5″
Bobby P lookin kinda shit so far. Idk if we’ll see him averaging over 12 ppg again.
I actually feel like Kuz is OK. Streaky, not a shot selection genius of course but if we have to have a guy shooting 40% from the field, he’s at least long. Wish he would stop shooting anything outside 15 feet
Why is Myles giving Dairy B a handy j?
We need Kuzma back in the starting lineup for defense and rebounding.
Kuzma is not a good basketball player
Is Kpj’s career over?
The sentiments are mutual. I’ll just add that rather than his ball-handling, Ryan’s biggest weakness is his passing and it shows as he lacks the confidence to make the split-second decisions that it usually takes for a good playmaker to constantly get your best player the ball in space.
I mean, I don’t think we’ve seen much of Giannis-Rollins two-man/pnr game, and definitely not one easy Giannis bucket off of it.
The Bucks need a real small forward. There are some teams whose offense is going to be able to abuse the three-guard thing no matter how good the guards are.
