Nothing surprises me or can hurt me after the Arson Judge/Carlos Correa debacle
EDIT: IMO that offseason was so humiliating and embarrassing for the Giants and the fan base. Judge was literally teased to us the entire season, every media outlet said Judge was coming here, and I honestly fully bought into all of it. The Giants had a ton of money coming off the books with plenty of holes to fill. Then the Heyman tweet came out, and for seven minutes, the fan base felt like they won the World Series again, just for our hearts to ripped out and stepped on. Then they pivoted to Carlos Correa and gave him 13/$350m, which every pundit, expert and fan said that was a horrible deal, and it just felt like the Giants were playing damage control.
Then came the day of the press conference, which got called off right before it was set to begin, stating that the Giants found something in his medicals. Is a medical record not looked at before a contract of that size is even offered?
After that whole catastrophe, there were no more impact players left on the board. So instead of Aaron Judge or Carlos Correa, our big gets that offseason were Mitch Haniger, Michael Conforto, Ross Stripling, Sean Manea and Joc Pederson (who the Giants decided to give the qualifying offer of $19.6m, a VERY generous raise from the $6m he made the previous year)
I feel better now.
Way to summarized how it’s been going for the last few years in free agency
Wait we’re already linked to someone? lol The season’s been over for like 5 days.
This is missing “FA is a massive bust with their new team, Giants fans breathe a sigh of relief”, but then that’s only like 90% of the time.
* farhan cycle.
Go posey
Greg Johnson took the playground rhyme 1st the worst and 2nd the best to heart
Would like to see the Giants make a surgical strike to bring Tyler Rogers back to the team. Does 2 years/$18M get it done? Sabean used to pride himself on those market-setting deals for relievers, and always make one of the first off-season free agent signings.
