NBA LIVE! Los Angeles Lakers vs Atlanta Hawks | November 6, 2025 | Lakers vs Hawks 2K26
And the Lakers starting five. They’ve got Rui Achimura, LeBron James out there with DeAndre Aiden. Then it’s Luca Donuch. And it’s Reeves in at the shooting guard position. And for Atlanta, we’ve got Trey Young. Christophs Porzingis out there with Johnson. And it’s Daniels in at the two. Donic passes to James. These teams feature great front courts. Brent, a little throwback to the old days of the NBA when big men ruled. Well, the game has become so perimeter oriented. These guys have a lot of skill and they’re going to be able to operate inside a phone booth. And we’ll see if these big guys can find a way to dominate uniquely in the way that they bring their offensive crowd. Oh, he muscles it in through the contact. They call the foul and he’s on his way to the line. If Aton continues to use his frame like that and stays active, that’s a good sign. Well, DeAndre Aton was so valuable in that 2021 playoff run for the Suns. Shot over 65% the entire postseason on their way to that NBA Finals appearance. Find the lane. Find the lane. One shot. [Applause] That’s good from Aiden and the former 1-1 the first overall draft pick. Aiden, he he’s just a different matchup. That size VA and that great touch around the rim. He runs the floor. He’s a big presence down there. You just don’t see a ton of centers like him around this league like he once did in the 80s and early 90s. Aiden’s game presents a pretty hefty matchup issue. Now here’s Porzingis. Second chance shot and the shot counts. He’s fouled and it’s a chance for a three-point play. And I think Porzingis is realizing as he gets on in years in the NBA, his size and getting to the offensive rebounds going to help him score. That free throw good from Porzingis. And early in his career, Porzingis was a shot creator. You think he can get back to that, Grant? You know, BA, yeah, in Dallas, his role was more catch and shoot. So, it’ll be interesting to see in a different system how active a role KP can fill, especially going to work inside. Donic no good. Here’s Daniels. That one’s good. And it’s Young with the assist. Just do your work. Try to get open and Trey’s going to find you. And that streaking rack attack is the mobile one drive. And I love the way he played downhill on that drive. Love the attack mentality in a close game. Aimura outside. Five to shoot. The shot comes out. Good D by Porzingis for Atlanta. They’ve gone two of three from the floor and a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. It’s going to be on DeAndre Aton. Well, the closer Porzingis gets to the basket, the more aggressive he becomes. And for good reason, he’s going to get fouled. [Applause] No good on the free throw. Well, a top five pick back in 2015. The 7 foot three Chris Daps Porzingis ushered in a bit of a new era there. The rise of the sevenfooter who could step out and drain threes. Hayes has checked in for Los Angeles. And he sinks the second. Well, since Porzingis was drafted, there have been a bunch of 7 foot shooters going in the first. It’s a good call, BA. You think about guys like Lowry Markin. These guys feel like stretch it out a bit. They can get behind the three-point line and knock shots down. Porzingis opened up a new way to think about the offense from the five spot. They grabbed their own miss. Yeah, better than giving up the layup. You want to go in there and use the hard foul. They did it there. That’s aggressive attitude defensively. Everything right except the finish. Have to keep focus all the way through the play. Donic outside. Here’s James. Tries it from the block. That’s good. His first made shot in three attempts. Well, once LeBron James gets in that deep, two points easy. Outside, Johnson. Some solid defense from James. Got to appreciate the aggressive defense he brings. Well, it’s about the defensive end, and that’s what guys feed off. He gives the effort down there at all times. Now, here’s Hachimura. Pass to Donic. The Lakers got to get one up. Late clock lets a three fly. That one’s good from Ashimura on the assist from Donic. Now here’s Johnson to the middle. Here’s Porzingis. Can’t get it to fall. [Applause] Donic against Young. Here’s Reeves. Hayes. The pass to Donic. And here’s Aimura. Fires for three. Rebounded by Daniels. Pass to Porzingis. [Applause] And it’s out of bounds. They say it was last touch by James. LeBron authorizing another block shot. on defense. The Lakers and there’s the call. It’s going to be an illegal screen. You can get away with one once in a while, but it looked like he wasn’t completely set on that pick. Yeah, quick little lean like that is going to get the ref’s attention. Foul call. A remarkable defensive play. The replay showing once again the tenacity on that end and that kind of rejection early on energizes your squad. The coaching staff just loves this kind of hustle. And the Hawks making a change here. Akongu’s checked in. Pass to Aimura. And here’s Donic. Well, he hasn’t scored yet, but I’m sure that’ll change. Now here’s Hayes. Six to shoot. Atlanta with a rebound. Well, that’s a shot they want just about on every possession if they can get it. He doesn’t make them all, but still very much a high percentage look. The Lakers have gone only three for nine from the floor. Here’s James. And again, no good by the Lakers. The Hawks trailing Atlanta again missing. Good shot gone bad. Got to finish there. [Applause] Here’s Reeves guarded by Young and count that. Two points and a chance for one more at the line. And the Hawks going from the Eastern Conference Finals to the eight seed via playin. A bit of a step backwards last year. Yeah. You know, growing as a young team has its ups and downs. Hawks know they can be better than the eighth seed. They now have an expectation of a playoff caliber ball club. One shot. [Applause] Every trip up the floor gets more and more important. Yes, indeed. They badly want to stop the bleeding here. Now, a timeout called by Atlanta. Failing to find a rhythm offensively. Something that needs to change and change soon. Yeah, they’re like a four day old soda right now. Just flat. They’re missing shots left and right and just not playing their best. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Out to the right wing to the left side wing. Pass to Aangu. Oh, they need this. Up and in on the layup as usual. Terrific effort from him. Unwilling to let the possession go to waste. Aimura outside [Applause] and here’s James covered by Johnson. Here’s Reeves. Clock at six and it’s Achi Mura missing. Just enough of a shot contest to bother him. ABC. That won’t go. Misses his first shot of the game. The Lakers in the lead. Pass to Donic. Here’s Reeves from the ark. He buries it from three. Six points for him. Trust Donic to make smart moves with the ball. He puts it in the hands of a guy with a wide open shot. [Applause] Here’s ABC covering. Takes a 13-footer. Another shot. It’s tipped. The kick out to Young. They get the rebound. Pass to ABC. The kick out to Johnson. Fires the three. That one doesn’t drop. And it’s the Lakers the other way. [Applause] Here’s Reeves. He has six now. Aimura. Pass to Donic. [Music] So, it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. And this team’s offensive catalyst. Donic puts pressure on the defense every possession. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] That’s good from Donic. And when we talk about franchise players, guys who can carry a team, Luca Donuch is one of the few guys in that category. [Applause] Donic hits them both and Atlanta has possession. Trailing by eight, Atlanta calls timeout. Atlanta, [Music] boys. Let’s go. Yeah. Got it. Go. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] pass to Houston. Now here’s Canard guarded by Donic. Donic against Canard. Six on the shot clock. Things just don’t seem to be clicking for them offensively. Yeah, they really need to find a way to get back on track. And for the Lakers, they’re shooting just 38% so far on this one. Throws it up high and finished off by Hayes. Boy, I like their energy coming in. Terrific execution so far. Well, if there were four or five boxes to check in terms of the game plan tonight, they might have checked six. I mean, they’re doing everything out there. Here’s Houston. Ooh, nothing falling for them right now. He may not be the strongest inside presence in the league, but still, he’s got to convert from there. Count it. Building a big advantage early with a terrific all-around performance. Well, if I was baking up a lead, I’d add two ingredients. One would be playing smart. The other one playing selfless. They’ve done that tonight. Serve it up. Here’s Canard after the Lakers picking up a basket just moments ago. [Applause] Here’s Alexander Walker defended by Smart. The shot by Alexander Walker. No good. The Lakers have got seven of 15 to find the net. And he’ll draw the foul. He’ll head to the line for two. I like that. I mean, some physical play inside. He’s not about to give up any easy baskets. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] And that one falls for Smart. [Applause] And so Smart nails them both. [Applause] They’re having very little success right now. And they really could take a different approach, right? Find something that works. Now here’s Canard. What? No scoring yet from him, but that’s likely to change. And he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So he’ll take two free throws. That one on Donic. The steady hand of the lefty Luke Canard there and he’s able to do it with the foul. A chance to catch up on some numbers here. The scoring breakdown for the Lakers. They’re working themselves to the line using great fakes and getting into the body of the shot blocker. Getting to the inside is really important, but it’s how close you can get to the basket. It feels like these guys are all around the rim in their attack tonight. And he makes a first. And Canard out there to help space the floor with that kind of range. It’s both from the stripe. You could tell he’s feeling confident right now at the line and when he’s on, he can be lights out. Donic passes to Smart. Back to Donic over Canard. Goes back up and Donic with the layin and the Lakers lead by 14. When you watch Luca play, you can’t forget he’s 67. He can more than hold his own inside. Here’s Houston. Well, he hasn’t put up any points yet in this one. Shot clock at six. Knocked away. Pass to Donic. [Applause] Six to shoot. And you can’t let Donic get this type of positioning because then you’re pretty much forced to foul him. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And that one misses. Good on the second one. We’ve got 155 left to play in the first quarter. Pass to Houston on the wing. Alexander Walker. Here’s a Kongwoo. Clock at four. The Hawks need to get one up here. Atlanta again missing and the Lakers with possession here. The lead is 15. Canard outside. He’s defended by Hayes. Back to Canard. Lays it up and banks it in. Second chances are a great measure of what a team is doing in terms of their effort on a nightly basis. And that was some serious effort there. Now here’s Smart. Pass to ABC Vanderbilt with it. Fade away. Akongu with the rebound. Akongu’s got his sixth rebound on the night. Here’s Alexander Walker now. Quiet so far offensively, searching for his first points of the game. [Applause] And he’s going to the line for two. The officials saw contact while he was going up. And even from where we’re sitting, you could clearly tell it was a foul. That free throw no good. And the second free throw is good. [Applause] There’s 18 seconds left to play in the first. [Applause] The floater rejected by Aong Wu. Domination in the first quarter. It’s been pretty lopsided. Lakers ahead. They lead by 12. And quarter number two will get underway just after this short break. [Applause] And so far through one quarter, it’s been a lopsided game. We’ll see if that changes here in the second. Guys, the Lakers enjoying a nice lead here. Just excellent first quarter defense. They’ve been really getting after it. Just a a great job really of making the game ugly, trying to muck it up a little bit out there. And when you’re trying to slow down a top scorer, often the game plan is to get physical. Grant, you would know better than anybody. What’s it like in the trenches here? Well, BA, it’s interesting. I mean, it can wear on you. It’s a mental challenge. When you’re in the trenches trying to slow down a great offensive player, it really becomes a battle of wills. You have to stay focused. You have to be disciplined. And most importantly, you just cannot take a play off and allow a great player to get going. So on the floor for the Lakers to kick off the second quarter, DeAndre Aiden is out there with LeBron James. Then there’s Marcus Smart and it’s ABC in a small forward. Now here’s Aiden. Uses the glass to finish the layup. Eightton’s got five now. The defense gets physical, but Aiden doesn’t seem to get knocked off of balance. That helps him to keep the focus. Going all in. That was the 2K drive. Well worth a second look. Yeah, talent is one thing, but it’s about the want to up big but not settling. Continue to press the attack. Young can’t hit and the defense gets bailed out by the miss. He usually converts that. Just over a minute gone here in the second quarter. Smart against Young. He got a piece of it. Pass to ABC. Porzingis with it. He’s covered by Eaton and out of bounds. Los Angeles will have it. [Applause] And for the Lakers, they’re shooting just under 40% from the field. Smart outside the three. James and that one goes out of bounds. Last touch by James. Achi Mura has checked in for the Lakers. Closing in on two minutes played here in the second. Here’s Young. Ooh, he took a hard foul on the shot. So, he’ll head to the line to shoot a pair. It’s on LeBron James drawing a foul down low. Trey Young earning that trip to the line. And you know with Trey Young, he almost embraces being the villain to other teams fan bases. Like he feeds off the fans heckling him on the road. free throw is good. Young and grant as you said with Young, he’s been the villain in the playoffs more than a few times. Yeah, BA players who can embrace that are good for the NBA. Trey Young has fun being a thorn as a visiting player and he always backs it up with his play. And both free throws good for Young. I mean Trey Young, do you love the confidence? I mean he is boiling over with it. Pass to Aimura. Here’s Reeves. The ball’s knocked loose. Clock at six from 18 ft away. No good. Off the back of the rim. and Young will challenge your defense from every distance. Well, look, this guy BA has unlimited range, has an elite floater game, and you bring in two guys defensively, and he’ll find the option that’s open. Now, here’s Aiden. Five points in the game, and Itachi Mura missing out left to the wing from behind the ark. [Applause] The Lakers have gotten nothing to go out of five attempts so far this quarter. Now here’s Smart driving in ABC with a rebound for Atlanta. They’ve gone 0 for four in the second quarter. Come on back. High post Young. Here’s Daniels defended by Smart. Porzingis with room to shoot. Oh, he finds himself wide open and drills it. Porzingis has got six. You got to appreciate the consistency night in and night out. He brings it. Smart finds Aimura. Pass to Reeves [Applause] from 11 ft away. rebound Atlanta. Let’s go now to the sideline and catch up with Alli Leforce. Well guys, the NBA market puts itself behind it star players, but Commissioner Adam Silver understands what makes the game tick. He said, quote, “This is a team sport. In order to truly win championships and compete at the highest level, all the players have to come together.” So true, Ally. Thank you. So, it’s the Lakers now after the Hawks picking up a basket just moments ago. Here’s Smart tries to snap the cold streak and count the basket. He was fouled and he’s going to the line for one more. Johnson, he’s checked in for a Congo. What’s up? [Music] [Applause] [Applause] And that one falls for Smart. The Hawks have gotten just two of six field goals to go in the second. Pass to Johnson to the paint and he takes it in for the layup off a very nice feed. Porzingis showing some toughness that time just cutting through contact. And here’s Achimura. Knocks down the triple. Aimura’s got six and just totally relentless only increasing the intensity level. Yeah, he’s the guy that you want to go go to right now trying to put this one away. Now here’s Johnson still getting warmed up offensively. No buckets yet in the game from him to the inside. Porzingis rebound. The Lakers’s got four rebounds in the game. Oh, LeBron with the slam. Ah, never get tired of LeBron James in the air doing wonderful things. And another look at the Mobile One drive as he put it into overdrive. Yeah, no doubt about it. He’s been a force of nature and that drive just another of his great plays this game. Now here’s Johnson. Young way outside and Aiden pulls it down. Yeah, and the defense has really got to tighten up on him. I mean, he’s just too dangerous from the three-point line. Pass to Reeves. Now Aimura [Applause] Smart with the ball. Hey, from beyond the arc connect. Now two of six for the game. Here’s Daniels. Three-pointer off the mark. The Lakers shooting only 36% during the second. Smart passes to Aiden. That one falls. And you wonder if Aidton’s one of those guys who realizes just how physical and tough he can be. And the Lakers making a change here. Donic checked in. Mind the lanes. Mind the lanes. One shot. Well, Aiden and efficiency go hand in hand. I mean, this guy’s field goal percentage is on cloud9. Atlanta calls timeout and the other team is running all over them right now. The timeout before the timeout here, maybe just to cut off the momentum and have a chitchat with the team to settle down. Come on. [Applause] [Applause] Boy, this Hawk squad is struggling. Pass to Daniels. Here’s ABC. [Applause] Now here’s Johnson. Just five to shoot. Can they get it? Unable to get that one. Oo, excellent D there from Aiden. [Applause] Aimura left side and the officials whistle a foul on the shot. The bucket is good and he’ll go to the line. And going right through the contact, Luca has tremendous strength, especially for a guy who handles the ball so much. Alexander Walker, he’s checked in for Atlanta. What’s up [Applause] That’s good from Donic. Here’s Daniels over to the left wing to the right side. Here’s ABC and so far in this one, two for four. Well, looking into the gaps of the defense there. He’s not going to miss many of those when he gets to that range. Here’s James on the wing. The shot is good. Donic making the play. Donic has got his fourth assist in this one. The Hawks shooting just around 33% since the second quarter got underway. to the wing on the left. Pass to Alexander Walker. [Applause] Oh, it’s stolen by Aimura. Not going to go that time. And Atlanta will come the the other way. Here’s Daniels. The put back controls the rebound and the put back. Getting so used to Porzingis soaring in on the put back dunk. There’s another one there. Donic passes to Aimura. Come to me. Come to me. Now Aiden pass to Reeves. Six on the shot clock. [Applause] Aiden inside. And Aon with the stuff. Defense unable to stop DeAndre Aton that time getting inside and using his frame. Here’s ABC. And it goes as the official calls the foul. Count it. And he’ll shoot one more at the line. And the Hawks make it a change here. Canard’s checked in. And the free throw no good. Well, the Lakers shooting the ball at around 42. 2% for the game. And the three-pointer goes. Nine points in the game. And James and his court awareness is just so extra special. Just whenever a guy has a clean look, they’re going to get the ball. Now here’s Canard Gorzingas for three and Reeves pulls it down. Go look go. Pass to Donic. Here’s ABC. Aiden with it. 10 points for him. Puts up the eight-footer and Porzingis with the block. That’s a forgotten skill as Porzingis able to get up there and throw that one away. He’s finished top 10 in blocks a couple of times. Now here’s Canard. [Music] Oh, a clear foul there on the missed shot. So, he’ll get a pair at the line. First free throw is Good. Vanderbilt’s checked in for Aton. [Applause] And that one goes in. Two from the line that time. The Lakers shooting 45% here. The second pass to Reeves. Back to Donic. Donic is doubled. Here’s Reeves. Just five on the clock. Donic on the wing. And the Lakers hit again from deep. And I know Donic prefers a straighton three shot, but his touch works just as well there in the corners. Canard against Donic. Pass to Alexander Walker. Back to Canard. Up and over Donic. And once again off the mark by Atlanta. Now Vanderbilt defended by Canard. Vanderbilt no good. The Hawks shooting just around 26% for the game. Drives to the hoop. Here’s ABC. And he got the whistle on the way up. So he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. What are you doing? And he drops a first. Akongu’s checked in for Alexander Walker. hits one then misses the second attempt from the line. Los Angeles shooting the ball at around 42% for the game. And you just can’t afford to give up that kind of look very often. Right side Johnson. Here’s ABC. He’s got seven. Well, the fact that he has that many rebounds for a guy of his size and stature shows you he truly cares about grabbing possessions off the rim. ABC. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] and he can’t get the first one. So, both teams making some changes here. [Applause] He hits the second from the line. And for Atlanta, they’re shooting just around 33% since the second quarter got underway. [Applause] Donic against Canard. This one for three. [Applause] Vanderbilt pulls it in. And for the Lakers, they’re shooting about 43% from the field in the second. Got a hand on it. [Applause] Now Canard [Applause] the turnaround. Oh, got it off in time, but it’s no good. And so it’s the Los Angeles Lakers with a commanding 22-point lead going into the break. The hustle they’ve shown on defense has been tremendous. Well, now a minute to check in with Ally Leforce. She’s courtside. Hey, Ally. You dancing. Coach Quinn Snder with us now. And coach, a bit of a lull for this team, scoring the ball. Why? Nothing to do with anything other than us being aggressive. We’re like walking the ball up the court. Whoever’s got it, we’ve got to attack. At least effort is something you can control. Thank you, coach. All right, good stuff, Ally. And we’ll get back to the action at the start of the third quarter. And now, the 2K Sports Halftime Show. Hey, welcome back to the NBA on 2K Sports. This is Ernie Johnson. Kenny the Jet Smith is right here. Say hey to the folks, Kenny. Hey folks. Say hey to the folks, Shaq. Hey folks. Hey, let’s get this party started. Okay, it’s the Lakers out on top at halftime. They are completely in control of the game, leading by a massive amount. Kenny, what’s your viewpoint? Well, when you pass the ball the way they have, Ernie, I mean, this is the kind of scoring line you expect. The guys are in total sync, and the difference is the ball movement. I mean, they’re moving the ball around and it’s striking. And Shaq, what’ you see from Atlanta? Well, they’re not finding good shots and that starts with their ball movement. Too much hero basketball. They need to sharpen up the attack. More motion, quick cuts, get the ball inside. There’s no way they’re coming back with that type of play. And that’ll do it for our halftime report. Stay tuned for the second half about to get underway. [Applause] And as we dive into the second half, we’ll find out if the next two quarters are any different from the first two. So far, it’s been a runaway. Boy, really an incredible game here from Luca Donuch. He’s been a real difference maker today in terms of reeling in offensive boards and the team appreciating all of that dirty work going on. His activity has been phenomenal. And with the second half of upon us, we’ll find out if this game becomes the route that it’s threatening to be. They’ve got Johnson. He’s out there with Kristoff Porzingis and it’s ABC in at the small forward position. That’s the five to begin the second half for Quinn Snder. Now here’s Johnson looking for his first basket. Still in this one. [Applause] Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] The free throw dropped for Johnson Young. He’s checked in for the Hawks. [Applause] And Johnson drops them both. Well, Los Angeles shooting 40% so far in this one. Donic. [Applause] Donic against Young. Out to Aimura. Three-pointer. That one falls. Great setup by Donic. Aimura’s got nine. Ruy working on that hand speed. Excellent. Here’s Daniels driving to the basket. Doesn’t go for him. Ooh, excellent D there from Eaton. And it’s a Lakers ball. The shot by Reeves. No good. And the Hawks shooting only 23% so far. Inside. Here’s Porzingis. That’s good. And now he’s five for 11 in this one. Porzingis not letting anything or anyone get in his way right now offensively. Back to Donic. Aimura right side. Pass to Aiden [Music] over Porzingis. Aiden no good. And so it’s Atlanta with it. Here’s ABC. Aimura covering. Shot clock at six. Outside Johnson [Music] off target with the three. I know he’s on a cold streak, but he can’t let that get in his head. Especially if you’re a player that doesn’t get a lot of shot attempts, but otherwise the mindset is I just got to get the next one to go and you don’t want to put that much pressure on yourself. The basket drops and he gets fouled on the shot. One free throw coming his way. So Ashimura will go to the free throw line. Christops Porzingis picks one up. [Applause] Hachimura being able to step out and shoot threes. That’s huge for his development. Pass to Daniels to the left wing. Here’s ABC the three. Buries it from three. 10 points for him. Defensively, you can’t afford to get stuck on the pick. That’s one that the coaches will watch tomorrow with that player. You hate to see him give up in that situation. Here’s Reeves. Nine points in the game. coming. [Applause] Porzingis grabs the board. Porzingis has got his seventh rebound of the game of that last one. Pass to Daniels. Outside Johnson over James and too long on the shot. Donic outside. Now here’s Aiden. Guarded by Young, shoots a fadeaway and Aiden gets it to go. Eightton’s got 12. Well, hitting that mid-range shot. This is right now probably the extent of Aton’s range. Pass to Daniels. Outside Johnson. Here’s Young. Rebound by the Lakers. Aiden’s got a rebound number 10 tonight with that last one. Here’s Reeves. [Music] Oh, poked away. Aimura. The pass to Aiden. Shot is up. The Lakers with the rebound. Johnson against Donic. Back to James. Good. Second chance effort and it’s in off the glass. One of the league’s best rebounders when he really wants to get the ball. LeBron James could get in there and get his hand on it. And we just had to see that mobile one drive one more time. Great stuff. And you know, BA, even with the game well in control, he’s going right at the rim. I love it. Now, here’s Johnson [Applause] out to the right wing. Here’s ABC. Aimura covering beyond the ark. The Lakers have gone four of eight in the third. Pass to James. Out of bounds as Los Angeles keeps possession. Just a millisecond late. So close to coming up with a steal there. Real close. And I’m sure next time you might time that a little bit better and get a hand on it. Smarts checked in for Donic. We got to see that one again. That block was all out effort. Yeah, just some terrific effort there. And you know the whole team will get an energy boost off a block like that one. [Music] Aimura outside. Pass to Smart. James against Johnson. Four on the clock. The shot by James. No good. The Hawks have gotten only two of seven shots to go in the third quarter. They’re searching for a way to score. Yeah, buckets have been very tough to come by. Tremendous effort on the boards. He’s been playing big all night. Down low. The rebound by the Hawks. Johnson’s got five rebounds in the game. Porsing is high post. Back to Johnson. Here’s Daniels. Pass to Porzingis looking to end the drought. Count it. That’s his sixth field goal in 12 tries. Yeah. Almost impossible to stop down low at 73. Porzingis over the top. And here’s Aiden defended by Porzingis. [Applause] And there’s a whistle. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. All right, guys. What do you think so far on the offensive approach for the Lakers? Their offensive game plan has been simple. Look to shoot it often from outside the ark. And the results have been outstanding. Well, they’ve also put an emphasis on driving inside in this game. The defense hasn’t been able to stop them from finding those gaps. [Applause] And he knocks down the first one. The Lakers making a switch here. [Applause] Aiden hits them both for Atlanta. They’ve gone cold here in this third quarter. Just three of nine. Back to Alexander Walker. Pass to Young. [Applause] [Music] Jacks up a three. Rebound the Lakers. Smart for three. And again, the Lakers no good. The Hawks shooting only 30% in the third quarter. Back to Porzingis on the wing. Alexander Walker. Pass to Akangu. Back to Alexander Walker over Ashimura. Misses off the right iron. Well, Los Angeles shooting just 36% on the third. Oh man, putting points on the board. The defense being tough on Hachimura. [Applause] And the first one at the line is Good. And both free throws good for Aimura. And for Atlanta, they’re shooting only 25% from the floor. Not great. And the Hawks call time here. Trying anything now to get them out of this slump. Well, they can’t find the net right now. And all they need, I think, is just to get one to go, get back on track. Heat. [Applause] Heat. Heat. Heat. up. Let’s go. fires the three. Rebounded by the Lakers to the paint. Here’s Vanderbilt. Off with the layup and Atlanta has possession. And here’s Canard on the wing. Alexander Walker. That one’s wide left. The Lakers dominating the game. Smart outside. Pass to Aimura. Clock at six. And here is Vanderbilt. And he converts the layup. Well, Hachimura not known as a playmaker, but unselfish play. That is part of his game. The Hawks shooting just 24% in this one. Not great. Trying to find a spark here. Yes, indeed. A rough stretch offensively. They could really use a basket. Pass to Alexander Walker. Parked it down low that time. Got hit with the 3second call. Ooh, talk about a way to deflate the team. Yeah, he knows he shouldn’t have made it. And that’s just really overall a frustrating sequence that hopefully doesn’t stick with him. Now Los Angeles with it. They’re on a 16-7 run. Smart passes to Aiden. Aimura outside. Pass to ABC. Aiden with it. Six to shoot. Now here’s Hachimura. [Applause] And they’ll get another chance. Here’s Vanderbilt. They shoot again. Here’s Aiden. No good. Not a friendly rim at all this trip down. Over to the wing and he lobbs it up to the rim. Here’s ABC. Pass to Aimura. The jump hook. He nails it. That’s his fifth make in 11 tries. Feel like Ruie has himself locked in and right now making a big impact offensively. And Marcus Smart picks up the foul. That’ll be a second foul of the game. Get open. Get open. Now here’s Canard. It’s off his leg and the ref saying he kicked it. Hayes has checked in for Los Angeles. Get over. The Lakers on D. Here’s Canard and you can count it. He’ll go to the line with a chance at a three-point play. And the team likes to use Canard as a floor spacing kind of player, but he decides to do damage that time inside. [Applause] The Lakers dominating the game. Pass to ABC. [Music] 144 left in the third quarter. Aimura outside. Shot clock at six. Here’s ABC and he gets it to go. Hitting off the back of the rim. He means business. Unlikely to be a comeback on his watch. Well, he’s grabbed a tea and a blanket cuz he’s putting this one to bed. Here’s a Kongu. Some solid defense from Hayes. Here’s ABC up again. Oh, he hangs in there and cashes in on the second chance points. And really aggressive on the O glass as Hachimura put that one right back in. There’s 53 seconds left in the third. Here’s Alexander Walker. Atlanta again missing. That’s a tough rebound if you don’t have the length that he does. So, the size paying off. That’s just a lapse right there. No matter what, somebody has to be there and get a hand up in the shooter’s face. Here’s Houston. Boy, he’s been patient so far. Nothing yet on the scoreboard. Here’s Canard. [Applause] Oh, that one’s off. Still out of sync. Pass to Smart. can’t cash in the 10-footer. And so it’s Rui Aimura making things happen for the Lakers. He made a big impact, scoring 12 points in the quarter. All right, stick around. We’ll be right back after this. And a moment now as we take a look at our State Farm assist of the game. You can count on him to deliver a few assists like this one each and every night. Sometimes it happens when the offense is struggling, but every now and then this helps with the offensive uptick right there. Great job of setting his teammate up. And one quarter to go in a game that to this point has not been an evenly fought contest. And so in the game for the Lakers, Jared Vanderbilt out there with Ruy Mura. Then there’s Jackson Hayes. Then it’s Gabe Vincent. And it’s ABC in at the two guard spot. Here’s Vincent. Here’s Aimura. It’s down. his seventh make in 13 attempts today. Great balance as Hachimura takes that hit and still converts. Here’s Houston. [Applause] On the wing, Alexander Walker. [Music] That three is off the mark. He didn’t make them pay for that weak defense, but they just can’t rely on him to miss those kind of shots. Can’t get it to drop. So, Atlanta will take it the other way. [Applause] Fourth quarter. Still young. Just over a minute played. Tipped away. [Applause] On the break, here’s Hachimura. And that one drops. Hachimura’s gotten four this quarter. And Hachimura not letting the aggressive defense hold him up from that opportunity. And the Hawks shooting only 23% so far. Out to the wing. Here’s Houston. and stolen by Vanderbilt. Last quarter play about two minutes in now. Here’s ABC and the Lakers hit again from deep. Now, you have to extend that defense. I mean, you really have to stay connected to him at all times. Yeah. I’m not sure what the defense collectively was thinking there. You got to know where he is at all times. Pass to Alexander Walker. to halt the run and he dunks it down. Just great offense. The screen freeing him up for the slam. Hey, without that screen, he doesn’t get a clean look at the rim. Yeah, why that little po or the layup when you can attack the rim and rise up like that. Here’s ABC. [Applause] And he was fouled in the act of shooting. Opportunity for a three-point play here. That’s how you draw it up right there. A screen to shed the defense, a quick move to the bucket, and you get the layin. [Applause] And that That one misses. Here’s Atlanta with the ball. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. shooting two. He misses the free throw. That one’s no good for Los Angeles. They’ve gotten four shots out of six attempts to drop so far in the fourth. pass to Hayes. [Applause] And so he draws the foul. Headed to the line to shoot a pair. Heat. Heat. [Applause] No good on that one. And the Lakers making a change here. Reeves has checked in. [Applause] and he ends up missing both free throws and the Hawks shooting only 25% from the floor. Not great on target from range. He’s going to punish you if you leave him open. He’s more than willing to take the open three when he’s got it. Pass to Hayes. Six on the shot clock. Back to Vincent. Lets it fly from 18. The offensive rebound. Hey, shots good. Oh, just an easy reverse for him. He has nice feel and touch around the bucket. Here’s Houston. Knocked loose. Here we go. One-on-one. Here’s Vincent. And he goes up strong with a one-handed jam. What a two-way play. Just tremendous. Yeah, the steal was slick. The slam topped it off. And we say it time and time again, so I’ll repeat it. have to be careful with the ball or this is what happens. The officials were right on top of that one. Shooting two. That one’s off. And he’s good on the second. The Lakers have gone six for nine here in the fourth quarter. Pass to Reeves. [Music] Back to Vincent. [Music] Here’s Reeves from deep. [Applause] Pass torch and there’s the whistle. Illegal screen is the call. The screener was leaning a bit right there. His feet may not have been planted. Pretty obvious call by the officials. Got to hold firm or or you’re going to get a call. They’re enjoying a sizable lead. And what I like BA, they haven’t stopped pressing the issue. Pass to Cleba. Hayes in the high post and finished off by Hayes. He knew exactly where his man was going to be. Outstanding lead pass. Here’s Houston. Out left to the wing. Here’s Crerachche. Shot clock at five. Clea with a steal. Pass to Hayes. Tries again and it’s good. Fought through contact. Hit the shot and will go to the line. [Applause] [Music] The Hawks have gone two of three to open the fourth quarter. Pass torch and he’s going to the line for two. The official saw contact while he was going up. It’ll go on Maxi Cleba. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. The first one falls. He’s perfect from the line this time for Los Angeles. They’ve gotten eight of 13 shots to find the basket in the fourth quarter. Back to Vincent. Here’s Reeves. Pass to Hayes and they pick up two. Hayes has got nine points here in the second half. And trust me, when the D’s slow to react, he’ll be the first guy to make them pay. Well, I know they don’t have mobile devices out there for texting, so they might as well talk to one another. Here’s Crerache. Can’t connect from short range. And for Los Angeles, they’re shooting 44%. A pretty decent clip. Benson can’t hit. Atlanta is shooting a poor 25% for this game so far. Here’s Houston. They get it back. And that one’s drained from the low block. Here’s Vincent. [Applause] with a nine-footer. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. [Applause] [Applause] That free throw no good. Smarts checked in for Reeves. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] He’s off on the second. The Hawks have got three of six shots to go in the this fourth quarter. Here’s Houston and the Hawks with another three. Two teammates connecting right there. Slick feed. Here’s Vincent. Smart outside. Clock at six. Pass to Cleba. Fires. Top of the key. That’s got to frustrate him. He knows he should have made that one. Yeah, you can’t make them all. And you for sure you’ll want him taking that kind of shot. right wing from outside off the mark. Hey, sometimes you miss even under the best of circumstances. No good with a layup. Hard to convert against that kind of defensive pressure. Those are all the little things about effort there. He just gets out there and contests and that’s just enough. One shot. [Applause] And the Lakers shooting around 53% in the fourth. Pass to Vincent. Smart outside. And there’s the lob. And the lob disrupted. Not to be. Here’s Houston. laid it in with a nice touch off the window. Of all the action happening there, it’s the assist that jumps out to me there. That’s just a great look and a great setup for the bucket. Now, here’s Smart. Here’s Vincent [Applause] trying to get back on track. The rebound by Crree. The Hawks have gotten six of 10 attempts to drop in the fourth quarter to the middle. Here’s Money and they’re going to count that bucket and they’ll send him to the line. It could be a three-point play. One shot. And the free throw no good. Unfortunately for them, they’re reeling at this point. So true. Very little going their way right now at either end of the floor. Back to Vincent. The rebound by the Hawks. defended by Smart inside. Here’s Money and that one’s long. One side has dominated tonight. Yeah, they’ve done a fantastic job of imposing their pace and style of play. One more. Pass to Smart. Down to five on the shot clock with a nine-footer. No good on the shot. The Hawks shooting 58% from the floor. Terrific here in the fourth. Defended by Smart. from 13. No luck on that one. Well, if you believe in the numbers, that mid-range shot is not a high value shot. Even with little or no defense on you, it’s safe to say they have dominated this game. The game wasn’t even as close as the score says in a great win for the Lakers. And the disparity in the talent was obvious by the end. Sometimes you just don’t have enough ammunition to compete. Yeah, BA just a total beatd down. And the next time these teams meet, I can’t imagine it’ll be any different. And while there were some guys out there that played well, what really stood out was the production for Rui Aachimura. We saw him get a lot of touches tonight and he wasted very few of them. Really made himself the backbone of their offense. Here’s Houston. The Lakers getting their last shot to go to the inside. Oh, a great one-two punch. Beautiful pass and a nasty jam. He just rises up and throws it down hard with one hand. That is such a go-to move for him. He holds nothing back on those. Back to Vincent. Pass to Cleba. Floats one up. Deflected and he’s able to get it back. And another shot. So it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. Everyone in the building saw the obvious contact. [Applause] First one falls for him. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] that misses. So he splits the free throws. Here’s Atlanta with the ball. They’re on a 16-5 run. Here’s Crerache. Drains the triple. And where was this type of effort earlier in the game? Unfortunately, this run will be all for nothing. Consistency definitely is a a key to some of the playoff performing teams. And tonight, they just did not find it in this contest. So, we see the Lakers taking the W here. A statement road victory. So impressive. Statement indeed. BA. It was in enemy territory, but they controlled the game and took the crowd completely out of it. That’s how you win on the road. All right, now let’s check in with Alli the Force. Ally, what do you have? Luca, you played well tonight and your team got the win. Those two usually go together, but what else made the difference? Yeah, I think we had a had a great game. You know, we had a I think it was a great game today. you know, we step up together, play good defense, and it was a great win. Team defense goes a long way. Thanks, Luca. Thanks, Ally. Great interview once again. Thank you for joining us. That’ll do it for now. Alongside Brent Barry, Grant Hill, and Ally Leforce, this is Brian Anderson with our entire 2K crew thanking you for watching. So long, everyone. [Music]
