Avalanche Mailbag 1.0: Fixing The Avalanche’s Center Depth
November 6, 2025
What kind of center, if any, should they target before the trade deadline?

What the fuck? We don’t have a center depth issue that needs fixing… are you kidding me?
Personally, I want to wait and see how Bardakov does when LOC comes back.
I think Kelly is doing a good job being the veteran presence on the 4th line, but it’s still an AHLer on the other wing. While I think Brindley and Nielson pass the eye test and will be good NHLers relatively soon I’d like to see how Bardakov does when he’s surrounded by more experience. I
I think also think Drury is doing really well at 3C.
I’m good with Jack at 3C so far, especially having Landy with him to bring some toughness. If we can get a good physical 4C for nothing- meaning no asset loss- then it’s worth looking at. But the all the pieces aren’t quite in place yet, I want to see how things look with LOC, Kivi and Sammy G are back in the lineup.
Bring back Coyle
Center is fine. Would like better 7Dman. Team is pretty complete
Is this a post from last year? Or just a post from a “journalist” trying to get clicks and couldn’t think of a better topic to write about? Either way, I ain’t clicking it.
The Avs success at the center position hinges on Brock Nelson getting his shit together and producing on a consistent basis
I feel like we need a 2nd liner winger more than a center.
The avalanche need to fix playing to their opponents level and then going into overtime. Also, they need to fix how the fuck they play in overtime
no issues on center…but…if a certain player whose team is not falling out of playoff contention right now like they should be wants a chance at the cup one more time I would be happy to have him be our 2C for the playoffs.
Colorado hockey now posting cutting edge reporting of nothing. LOL
The entire idea that the Avs have a center depth problem to even talk about at this point instead of talking about something valid like lack of power play production or inability to close in overtime is completely asinine and pure click bait. The fact that it has generated even this much conversation is proving that it works, you no longer need quality journalism or intelligent analysis to generate revenue in reporting.
