CONDENSED GAME: Boston Bruins vs. Ottawa Senators – 11/6/2025

Live from TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Welcome to Boston Bruins hockey on Ness. Tonight, the Bruins look to extend their winning streak to five games and get a little payback in the process. 10 days ago, the Ottawa Senators handed Boston its worst loss of the season. Now, the Bruins are back on home ice, hungry for redemption and ready to settle to score. Hello again, everybody. Along with Andy Brickley, I’m Jud Surat. Thanks for joining us. As we mentioned, the Bruins about a week ago were up in Ottawa. They got shellac 7 and2 at the hands of the Senators and Sean Caralibrick said this morning that we learned a couple of things. One, if we’re not ready and our details are not dialed in, that’s what can happen after that game. The Bruins wheeled off four consecutive wins and their head coach, Marco Sturm, expects a response tonight. Keep the good times rolling. You’re at a very important part of the season. You’ve worked really hard to get your record to eight and seven, the next five against division opponents. This is a big stretch of the schedule. You can tell how head coaches feel about certain players if they put them out at crucial times. And lately here in some of those key situations, we’ve seen we’ve seen Marco Sturm go to two youngsters, Fraser Mitten and Moratinov, and they’ve delivered. Good teams, playoff teams, you need young players to be impactful. You know, they’re not going to make a ton of dough, but they’re going to have to play because it’s a cap league. So, you’re waiting for a couple of young guys to pop. And I’ll tell you, we’re witnessing a couple of young guys in the growth in their game. Morat Hustadinov had a terrific game, especially late. Made a great play on the tie in goal. He was playing with Panaki. He was playing with Fraser Mitten. And he had the shoulder shake in the uh in the shootout to win the hockey game. Get the extra point for the Boston Bruins. Shrew now. Pinto to the middle. They score. A twoon-one coming in from the blue line off the rush. Senators won. Bruins nothing. Yeah, break down and coverage on the back check. There wasn’t really much going on in terms of the rush. The Bruins should have bodies. People should be picked up. You try to stand up at the blue line, but the back check is late. The twoon-one develops and it’s well executed. Nice little lead pass by Pinto. Catch and release by Mario. Short side, glove side. Heat. Heat. So stop sweeping in for a finish off and behind the head you have exchanging a couple of shots with with Castle and Jano also on the ice. The second time we’ve seen him gone down the runway. He’s had a couple of tough falls, one in each corner of the offensive end early. Gave away the puck. It’s cranked in and held it long enough to generate a whistle with 6 seconds left. I mean, overall, when you think about a Jud, pretty good first period for Boston. You know, a little bit of luck for Geek. You got a tie hockey game. They were victimized on on just a bad back check when they try to stand up at the defensive blue line on the two-1 goal by Amayo. But overall, the two shots on goal allowed on a team that likes to play fun and fast, you know, you’re doing some really good things. A little bit better puck management, a little bit better finish in terms of completing their offensive plays. Glen Holm in the corner and that’s going to do it for the opening 20 minutes of play after Lenholm got locked up briefly in the corner with Drake Bathson. Michael Amario with a game’s only goal in that opening stance as Brick mentioned. Bruins out shooting the Senators nine to true but trail it one- nothing. I don’t know if you saw that little shoot pass to get beyond which look like maybe a twoon one from Boston sweeping the stick. He fires the score took that rebound off the plumbing and stuffs it home. Bruins one, Senators won. This is what you were looking for. Shot volume shots from everywhere in the offensive zone and second chance opportunities. Bruins win a punt on a for check. That’s the goal scorer right there. Morgani forces the turnover. The Bruins defense are awake. They’re after it. They shorten up in the offensive zone. It’s an accurate drive. Walker side gets under the arm of Lenus Wmark. Good stick. Good determination by Morgan Gates back down Castle and here we go. So we really won’t get a chance to get started. [Music] Boston 47, Ottawa 23. 2 minutes each for Ruffing. Yeah, they never really got to the fighting aspect of it. They both wanted it. Happened right between the benches and that’s always entertainment to the teammates. You see the left side of your screen taken down and then right back up. The BS were flying. They were ready to go. keep their balance. Two minutes up top redirect for you. on his way in back almost second holds that down low making Ottawa defend rockets one on the crossbar. That was a heater and over the glass it goes. This is what the throws talked about. Offensive zone time. Big bodies. Protect pucks. Win your battles. Get pucks and bodies to the net. When you have the opportunity, as you know, just cruising through that slot. This the redirect of a very person purposeful snapshot by changing direction. Changes on it across. Quick up for Cousins. out in front stuck out the right toe and not a chance there for the sl back on the ice. That’s a good sign. He said it had been too long since he crashed into that glass to celebrate all with a snipe. Bruins two senators one. He’s been really good tonight. His lines going and he’s the catalyst. He had an opportunity shooting the puck in a similar area back in the first period off the rush. Highlight stayed on side. He kept that right. Skate out into the neutral zone to make sure it was a clean play coming in the offensive zone. And there’s the Senator overcommitting to the puck. That means somebody’s open for the Sean Corali coming right down the slot. Protect the pup. Find the open man. Top shelf, glove side, short side. That’s a thing of beauty for Cari. It’s his second of the season. The first was an empty net. And after the Bruins have trailed one- nothing, they have rallied for the last two. ahead. Castle behind everybody walks in shoot on edge. Knock down top. Sanderson shoots and Corposell gloves it down and Mackoy makes sure he takes care of Greg. That’s a good save. You know, it’s a wrist shot from distance, but there’s three guys right in front of you, two senators in your defenseman, and you got to track this puck through what’s going on in front of you. You don’t want to leave a rebound. 30 seconds left in the second. Sador across to Makavoy taking his time to sort it out. Reaches the red line, got it in. is making a change. Amio, he’ll open the scoring in the first. 8 seconds left in this period. Yoki Hardy stays with his check. Centers get it back and the slide tapped over to M and the horn’s going to sound as Aspro finish his check right at the tail end of the period. So the Brews break a lean on Ottawa in that second period and they break through with a pair. Yeah. And the penalty killer is getting the job done in this nice stretch, this nice winning stretch of hockey for the Bruins. And this is a team that scored four times. I know it was a different kind of game, a different kind of attitude, but the PK late in the period and 2-1 games got to be huge. You need saves, you need structure, you need commitment, you need shot blocking. All of that evident in the Bruins PK to keep this a two-1 game. away driving set out in front and it’s lifted over the crossbar by Iowa’s leading scoreer. Similar to the look that the Senators scored on to open the game, we’ve got a whistle. I think it was that was changing now. just almost went back to back shifts with the absence of Johnny P. I think it was Castle that was coming out to replace him on the left side of the screen. Just didn’t have the time where to get out there and be the back checker on the weak side and at least his champ side over the crossar drops for Arbitson. Arbitson tripped up. Here’s Greg the other way. Blocked by Mackoy and Greg will throw it back out to center ice so they can waste a little time. The points couldn’t snag it otherwise they might have been wasting it to the referee. [Applause] Yeah, he wanted to trip well before the penalty against the Boston Bruins. It’s an 18 two-minute minor flashing. Well, the Bruins mismanaged the puck even when they defended and the puck became free. It took a funny bounce, a bad bounce. They finally had something to go on offensive and now it’s back in their own zone. But again, a second opportunity to manage the puck and they mismanage it right here. They It’s one versus three and Pinto wins it and then he gets a scoring chance that Kopasano has to make an unbelievable stop. Here’s the trip that I was looking for. Not coming. Charging ahead. Here’s Lyn. Stops. The same rebound up top. He escapes up top. Haran fires down. The rebound set wide. Here’s Shabbat. Karan Jeru shoots the same he and the Senators just as the penalty was expiring even the game of two. You feel like the Bruins put themselves in this spot. You know, we talked for the first six minutes they were allowing Ottawa too much punt possession, too much time in the offensive zone, you know, and then they get a little something going. They draw the power play. They mismanage the puck with the power play and then they end up getting into a fouron four situation and was able to tie the game by just getting a puck to the net. Shot from the half just as the power play was winding down and it just had eyes. Not a sticky center. Oh, the save point blank in the slot. Yeah, Yuki Haru drifted right in there. Says he had an opportunity for a scoring chance. Good recognition by the Dino to rotate back to that right point to make sure that’s coming in the two two game third period. Geeky with his eyes up, head up. That’s a nice catch and release looking far side. Nice stop by the right path looking for his first goal. Just barely in by it. reflected in by charging after lost it into the corner. 15 guarded off the glass lost in right circle. This shot is fired by Giru and over the glass it goes with 6 seconds left. Yeah, good block by uh Castellic’s [Music] just trying to get this game to OT right now. That puck just kind of squirts out into a shooting area and Castle gets right in the shooting lane. Gets a piece. Drew is going to exit. He tied the game here in the third. [Music] Cousins is going to take the face off against Zaka. [Music] Back to the net it goes. Sent out in front. It was here for Pinto. Dribble to the net and the horn sounds. That was dicey. [Music] [Applause] Right off the draw. looked like the Bruins are going to get possession. It goes by Mack Boy and all of a sudden Otto was putting pressure on from a slot area. We said the Bruins just trying to get this thing to OT. Well, all right. We’re there. Three on three. When we return, changes. DG21 stopped over the far post. We got a penalty on the Senators with 42 seconds left. Keep regrouping. Keep regrouping and then find an open man where you have the advantage with Pace coming across the blue line. They set up the twoon one. Ottawa penalty number 71. Two minor flashing your two offensive guys you want on that twoon one DKA nice lead pass take the tape there’s the diving slash from the puck area will go to the box and the bro 41 almost 42 seconds gets possession fl kicked out by three Heat. Heat. Heat. [Applause] [Music] Face off up for grabs. Uh the Senators are going to get it from off the wall and they almost have Pingo by himself. Well, they do have him by himself in front of the net. Unfortunately for Boston kind of jumps over the plate of the stick and then the Bruins defend well enough to get possession but offside the offensive board. Now someone has called the timeout. We believe 22 seconds left. Iowa led this game one nothing. The Bruins with two in the second period on goals by Geeki and Corali took a 2-1 lead. Then Clo Jeru scored at the 1152 mark of the third period to force the extra session. And there’s 22 seconds left in the [Applause] show. Get an opportunity to see the Iowa Senators again next week. We will be done before Thanksgiving. [Music] Saka repositions back taking his time to drop the puck. Bruins have it. 20 seconds. Here’s Mackoy to the middle of the net. Shoots. Just blocked by Saka. 14 center with 6 seconds left victorious in over time three to two absolutely Absolutely dominant last shift by Charlie M. Got it right off the bottom in the back

  1. I don't mind the refs calling the initial major. Never do if they have the intent to review it and after a hit that looked like that, I'd WANT the refs to review. It's that they gave it a long hard look and STILL fucked it up. Blows my mind.
