Yeah not quite
I hate when OCs and HCs are like this. Clearly, we are NOT a running team. As much as we want to be, or try to be, it very obviously isn’t working. Stop trying to force a square peg into a round hole and maybe rework what our “DNA” should be?
It’s so frustrating because Caley talked in the offseason that he wants to work with our current strengths and build off that, and not force players to do things that aren’t working…. Yet here we are. Great example of saying what we wanna hear then doing what they wanna do.
A simple Punnett square is just a cross between Bitch and Ignorant that birthed this offense.
Fire him! This is delusional gibberish, if he means it.
The Texans are most definitely NOT a “physical outfit that wants to run the ball downhill”. If we were, we’d be able to punch the ball in from 2 yards out with four downs to do it. We can’t, so we ain’t.
That doesn’t mean the Texans can’t get more out of this roster. We need to be an up-tempo, pass-first team with quick action. That HAS to be the foundation for anything the Texans do on offense because it’s the only thing that (with Stroud at least) will work regardless of opposing defenses. Once the Texans have other teams on the back heel, the rest of the playbook becomes more available because you’ve first *established an advantage*. Wishing, hoping, and proclaiming nonsense will not magically allow a soft o-line to play tough.
Give that o-line success with something they can manage and later … maybe … hopefully … we can talk about that swagger we want, but sure as hell ain’t showing.
He said wants to… Not that they are capable
my brother in christ that is not our dna
We have the one of the least talented RB room in the league, one of the worst o lines, and one of the worst blocking TE rooms, and this goober wants us to be a physically dominate run team? JFC
Can anyone help me? Was the Patriots under Brady ever a run first offense?
The root of the issue is Demeco. This guy is doing the same garbage Slowik did.
Now, it’s either Demeco and Caserio have no idea how to hire an OC, or Demeco is heavily influencing the OC to play a certain style.
Either way this organization is ran by idiots
He “wants” the Texans to run the ball downhill, just like a kid “wants” to make the NBA before growing up to realize they have average height and ordinary athleticism.
At least most people realize that they aren’t cut out for pro sports when they get to adulthood.
A complete and utter disconnect between the personnel and the game plan. Running out of time to adjust before you’re chased outta town
Just rip the bandaid off and fire this idiot. Enough of the humiliation ritual and forcing this guy to lie to the media.
Im starting to think Caserio’s boy is a bit of a dumbass.
My six year old daughter who spends three out of four quarters giving her doll a “spa day”, knows that we can’t run the ball worth a shit… what is this guy talking about?!
Every time I will ask this: Why does anyone put stock jnto what a coach says during media conferences. This is a contractual obligation, where 9 times out of 10 they say nothing burgers.
We need Kliff Kingsbury
Just because that’s what he thinks is the best offense type, doesn’t mean that’s what we are. That’s what makes an OC bad. You can’t force a team into your idea of what should happen on the field. You play to your strengths. Design your offense around your team instead of forcing it to be something it’s not.
Stupid shit.
I wasn’t even on the Fire Caley bandwagon, not yet, because we can’t just fire everyone every time the results are a bit disappointing without giving things time to flesh out. But this is top tier stupid. Especially after he specifically said that he wasn’t a square peg into a round hole type of coordinator.
Fuck it, fire Caley, fire Caserio.
This stubborn idiot. Lets keep trying the same thing we are terrible at.
There are multiple times this season where we failed to pick up 1 yard on multiple tries… That is not a running team.
Holy hell, I get not wanting to change oc’s mid season, but with what we’ve seen and the total incompetence, how can they not make a change.
Dudes off his meds
I’ve been thinking with the mindset, he’s a new OC and maybe he can improve. After this quote though…. hard to have faith when this is obviously not our DNA and not where our strengths are. Wow, this is shocking
Organization doesn’t understand its own personnel. It is so sad to see. This means that nothing will change this year.
This is the root cause for coaching failure in many sports: trying to fit a roster into a system instead of using their best abilities in a system.
