I'd love to get a shot of Staal's face. My guess is it's a glazed look as all he's seeing at that point is red.

  1. The dad strength Jordan had in that fight was insane. Chased him down, swung him face forward, choke held until he could get his glove off, and landed some shots right to the ear.

  2. True captains leadership from Staal right there. Ridiculous hit by Shitlick. Dunno that he has a reputation so idk if he will get suspended but that was ridiculous. One of them where you don’t need to see the replay to know it was a high hit with head as primary contact

  3. I’m still thinking 10 minutes for Staal is stupid as hell. He should have had 2 mins in the box for fighting. Hope Chatfield is okay.

    Bro found out why you don’t mess with papa bear’s cubs

  5. Pitlick has been a nothing player since getting into the show, something like 7 different teams in 10 years and spending a lot of time sitting on AHL rosters. He went to execute on this “it’s a clean hit” and because he’s bad at the game he fucked up majorly. Fucked up so bad he could’ve permanently injured another player. This is exactly the reason you have a hearing. It’s not about just calling out the ones who are intentionally going out and injuring, it’s also about recognizing that you can’t allow people to fuck up so badly that they permanently injure someone. At least, I thought that what the depart of player safety was for, you know, to keep players safe out there.

    It’s right there in the rulebook, in case anyone cares;

    “Per Article 18.2 in the CBA between the NHL and the NHLPA:
    “… In deciding on Supplementary Discipline for On-Ice Conduct, the following factors will be taken into account:
    (a) The type of conduct involved: conduct in violation of League Playing Rules, and whether the conduct is intentional or reckless, and involves the use of excessive and unnecessary force. Players are responsible for the consequences of their actions.”

    What would have been “just a clean hit” executed poorly doesn’t fucking matter if it’s “just a clean hit”. Homeboy is responsible for his actions. It’s exactly why Chatty’s actions mattered last season. He was responsible for his on-ice actions, heated game or not.

    He looked at the ref to stop the beatdown like this.

  7. There is another funny moment where Staal is punching him and he looks at the ref with a “please help me” look on his face…

  8. I see time slowing down and “Nearer My God To Thee” playing in his head, the song concluding just as the first punch hits his stupid face.
