I know it's not going to happen because of money and also the Brewers tend to focus on Latin American talent, but hey we can dream right? Lets see how good Rickie is at his new job!

Unfortunately I’m unsure if there’s much Rickie can do to help here beyond pulling extra millions of dollars out of his pocket
Nine figure deal yep we’re out already
There’s another guy who might be cheaper, but I don’t think we’ll get either
Murakami plays first and third and some argue he’s not MLB caliber in the field quite yet. He’s almost certainly gonna end up a DH first wherever he goes. And he’s a lefty so you can’t really platoon him with Yelich. I’d love to see him on the Brewers but you almost have to do some serious shaking up of the current team to fit him in (which i am perfectly fine with, for the record)
He is a Dodger
Plus those fees to his club? Yeah right brother
He’s going to end up at 1B or DH.
Only like 6 realistic teams that will pay what it takes to get him.
Incredibly risky signing because you are counting on his bat speed and power to translate like Ohtani and not the historical trends of previous season international power hitters.
He’s gonna hit .220 with 25 HRs and a million strikeouts next year, pass
Pretty sure this guys K rate is UNREAL. Wayyyy too much risk involved. I’d be skeptical as to how he’s going to make contact period stateside.
Especially for that price tag
This guy is gonna be the Japanese Keston Hiura. Pass.
Dodgers, Red sox, Yankees.
Hard pass. I’d rather see the Brewers find a collegiate level HR hitter in the draft from one of the elite programs. Someone who can maybe start at AA or AAA and make the jump to the majors in 2027. And yes, I know that such a player is rare and might not even be in the draft this year, but that is realistically the best way for the Brewers to get a 35-40 HR player on the roster. If there is baseball in 2027 you are looking at a core of Chourio, Frelick, Turang, Durbin, Made, Pena, maybe Contreras, maybe Mitchell. A young power hitting first baseman would look really good in that mix.
There is so much talent in Japan and Korea, but I like how the Brewers differentiate by pumping resources into Dominican/Venezuelan scouting. Like with Hook’s pitching philosophy, lean into your strengths.
Books already written on him in terms of scouting. Not much Rickie could or would even do in this type of situation. Dudes gonna get 9 figures somewhere, and it won’t be us.
Murakami’s hit tool is incredibly suspect. He has a hard time with velocity… which is the exact same report that was on Keston Hiura. Obviously Hiura was a draft pick/prospect rather than an international signing, but the point stands.
Our minor league system is chock full of infielders and our current 3B (which Murakami arguably can’t play and should instead be a 1B) is a rookie of the year finalist.
Unironically we will sign basically no one and we will be happy.
Sorry, that’s only for the few special chosen teams.
Hard pass. He hit .095 against fastballs over 93mph last year.
Fangraphs rates him as a 30 grade fielder. No thanks.
