We’ll see if GLPI really wants to move forward with the hypothetically funded A’s stadium on a weird, half-dirt, half unfunded-construction site project.
And not to get too hopium, but Vital Vegas is adding that he thinks whatever small scale investment is happening by the A’s is for the purposes of [an upcoming sale](https://x.com/VitalVegas/status/1986665753991692609?s=20).
The realistic part of me thinks that MLB will make it work in Vegas regardless who the owner is. Even if they only have such a small amount of fans even though Vegas is Dodger territory.
The part of me that clinging for hope that they come back is hoping that Fisher sells. So far with the economy, tariffs, and the cost of everything going up is bad for us normal people but I’m so glad and hopes it fucks Fisher over. To where he wants to get his hands clean and sells the team to the highest bidder (which if anything the Bay has plenty of Billionaires with the money for it).
The “conspiracy” and hopium part of me is that MLB and all the other owners made it as easy as possible for Fisher to potentially relocate. BUT if he fails then he has to sell the team, if he makes it happen in Vegas well then it happens. My point is, I think in the public eye MLB and it’s owners want to make an example like they’re playing hardball to extort their own cities/states for Public money. If their Governments don’t cough up the money, they’ll point to the A’s situation as a prime example. If Fisher fails then on the record they were willing to stick up for other owners and help them move
I don’t know what to think anymore though. I’m tired of fantasizing if they’ll come back to Oakland, who knows maybe they will or maybe they wont and it’s full done deal. I’m holding out hope but we’ll see. Fuck John Fisher
