TJ was frustrated that the Lions didn’t make offensive adjustments against the Vikings last week

But offensively, one of the most frustrating game plans that I have watched. I didn’t get through much of the film before I got on with Costa and Jansen. Finished it up kind of Monday. Went back and rewatched it again yesterday. Even more frustrating than I remember being in the booth on Sunday. They are literally showing you what they’re doing every single time and you are making zero adjustments. You’re just saying, “Jir Gibbs, I know they’re blitzing through the A gap. Sorry, buddy. Go pick it up 20 times.” I felt so bad for him. Why not put him up in the A gap and then you stone him without the running start? That’s what I was saying during the game. That’s what I was saying the next day. It’s like you can come up with formations and ways even if it’s a tight end where you motion him and you park him right inside that a gap between the guard and tackle just if they do blitz, you’re not getting a 5y head start at our 195 lb running back. Minnesota was doing a lot of the similar things where it’s we’re going to slant our line, we’re going to blitz the a gaps, we’re going to move our linebackers, we’re just going to try to stunt and twist on you. And there were opportunities to have some big plays, but there were no adjustments. And the one big adjustment, even watching the game Sunday, I we need to start running some counters. We need to start, you know, kind of pinning these linebackers that are blitzing up the middle and the three techniques that are slanting. If you can catch them on a couple of those plays where they’re slanting and you pull opposite and get a kick out and lead up, like you’re looking at home run plays. I did not see any adjustments. The one time I think they pulled an offensive lineman was the third down where you looked like you were going to have a big play in Montgomery fumble. the best offenses that I played in, we’re able to adjust on the fly. We’re not just limited to the plays that we put in the install for this week, right? If there’s a play that we haven’t ran maybe in 4 weeks, but it was really good against, you know, Baltimore when they were shifting and blitzing through the A gap, we can always adjust to

  1. The most concerning thing to me was that all of the offensive linemen said this same thing, and Morton blamed all kf the issues with the offense on the offensive linemen. Idt anyone on this team likes Morton.
