If the Mets replace Pete Alonso with a Mark Vientos/Jeff McNeil platoon, Sal is going to LOSE IT:

The Mets know they can’t be dumb enough to think that if they let Pete Alonzo walk, for whatever reasons they might have, and I can’t disagree with that. Yeah. In no way, shape, or form, under any circumstance whatsoever, can you let Pete Alonzo walk and tell the fan base that you’re going to replace him with Jeff McNeel and Mark Ventos as a platoon. I don’t care who you sign. I don’t care if you sign Bregman. I was gonna ask you that. Even if Bregman’s playing third base, BT, there’s not a world that I would accept ever. Jeff McNeel and Mark Vientos platooning at first base as a replacement for Peter Alonzo. I again I don’t care who you sign. Unacceptable. So get that thought of your minds. There’s no way that should be a possibility. I’m not even saying that they do.

Sal doesn’t care who else the Mets sign. If Pete Alonso signs elsewhere and isn’t replaced by a solid first baseman, it is a total failure.
