  1. It feels like a re-gen from MLB the Show getting ready when Vlady Jr. retires πŸ˜‚

  2. Little league is hilarious. When I watch my son’s team play, it’s half rooting for them and clapping and half being amused at the horrible defense. It also makes you realize how difficult fielding is.

  3. So my kid is a pretty good athlete but soccer is his primary sport. He’s been playing in a travel club at the elite level for several years now. He’s extremely fast but on the smaller side for his age.

The thing about soccer at that level is that it’s year round, 3-5 days a week with little downtime. Leaves little room for other activities. Last Spring I asked him if he wanted to try baseball and he said ok. I told the coach we would barely make practice. It was just a town league anyways, but the rest of the kids were also little Leaguers.

My kid started at the back of the lineup (13th?) but was actually hitting very well. I think it was due to the martial arts and soccer training, he has great coordination. Ended up hitting several “home runs” similar to this video where the speed caused numerous errors. By the end of the season he was in the 5 spot.

Anyways one game he hits a slow roller to 2nd, beats the throw to first and just keeps going to 2nd. Beats that throw and keeps going, and the throw to 3rd is errant so he ends up scoring. He goes to the dugout (it was the last inning) grabs his stuff and comes out. He tells me his stomach is hurting and he has to leave, so he didn’t want to stay on the bases lol. I tell the coach and we head out.

I really wish we had the time to play more baseball as he seemed to enjoy it.

  4. Looks like he finally reached a coach who told him to stop. Probably a blowout against a team that’s been struggling to get outs.

  5. Love that he tilts his head back when is running. Gotta watch out for whiplash at such high speeds.

  6. I coach 9-10 year olds, rule is only 1 extra base on errant throw. We can’t have this happening every inning because it definitely would.
