Seahawks Announce MASSIVE LOSS For Defensive Line Heading Into Rematch vs. Cardinals

Some not so ideal news for the Seattle Seahawks heading into tomorrow’s rematch with the Arizona Cardinals. Defensive tackle Jiren Reed being added to the injury report as out with wrist and thumb injuries. He was questionable last week before the game against the Commanders. Ended up suiting up and had a pretty good game. Practiced this week, but apparently the injury is not getting better and so the Seahawks are going to hold him out for tomorrow’s game. What does that mean up front? This will be the first time all year the Seahawks will be missing one of their big three in the interior defensive line. Mike Morris is going to have to play a lot more snaps, interestingly enough, named a captain this week going into the game against the Cardinals. You’re going to see a lot of Mike Morris, a lot of Brandon Peely, and I would anticipate Quinton Bohana or J.R. Singleton is going to get called up from the practice squad because they’re going to need another body to be able to help make up for Jiren Reed not being available in this game. The Cardinals have not been a great running football team, especially since James Connor was lost for the season. But with that being said, this is a significant loss. Losing one of your top three interior defensive linemen. Again, the first time we’ve seen this this year for the Seahawks or one of those guys has not been available for a game. They’ve been pretty darn healthy at that position. Great opportunity for Mike Morris and the other names that I mentioned to step up and elevate their games to keep the Seahawks defense humming. But that’s going to be something to watch closely as this will be the first time that interior defensive line depth has truly been tested in the 2025 season.

For the first time in 2025, the Seahawks will be missing a piece of their “Big Three” in the middle of the defensive line, as Jarran Reed has been added to the injury report and ruled out due to wrist/thumb injuries.
