Interesting Fact: Everyone in the East is at least .500. Out West, not so much…

  1. Somebody pointed out the other night on my message board that the Sabres were one point out of last place and I pointed out there were also one point out of a playoff spot

  2. Framing the standings like that only makes me hate the loser point even more. Get rid of it or make regulation wins worth 3.

  3. Does my heart wonders to see Washington and Florida currently out of the playoff picture. Probably won’t last, but still

  4. Misleading. Not every East team is above .500 wins, just at or above in points percentage.

  5. This isn’t interesting, it’s indicative of a broken scoring system.

    Eliminate the loser point now.

  6. .500 doesn’t mean shit with this goofy ass point system. Most of these teams have more losses than wins

  7. What’s your definition of .500? Because you put up that they are at a points percentage over 500. That is still a nice feat, but also a reason why the 3 pointer is kind of dumb. And should be on a 3-2-1 system if that’s how they won’t to handle it.

First time the east has been better than the west top to bottom in a while. Wonder if it will hold up.

  8. Overtime losses mean nothing to anyone anymore… I hate the point system. It should be 3 points for a win in regulation, 2 points for a win in overtime, 1 point for a loss in overtime, and 0 points for a loss in regulation. Simple math.

  9. And surprisingly enough, both in the west and in the east, there are 4 teams who made the playoffs last year and are currently below the playoff line

  10. “Everyone in the East is at least .500. Out West, not so much” isn’t it because West A) is more competitive B) West better than East.

  11. If all goes right for the Sharks… they may find themselves at a playoff spot tonight! 🤣crazy !

  12. I hate how the NHL defines .500, the Sabres have won 5 games and lost 9. I don’t care how many loser points they have collected, if OT wins are just wins. OT losses are losses.
