NHL Highlights | Panthers vs. Sharks – November 8, 2025
the right. Denil Tarasov set to go as he backs up Sergey Babroski tonight. And we’re set for a tilt that we’ve been looking forward to since the schedule came out. I don’t know if anybody was that excited to have it happen on the second game of backto backs. But the way last night turned out, it’s very tanalyzing to think about this one tonight as we’re underway. Sharks and Panthers. Here’s Tim Ligren working against Etu Luster Rainan for Florida. Panthers work it to the blue line. Nico Mika’s shot knocked down by Ascarov. Getting guys healthy with Barkov and Kachuk being the two keys. Sharks into the attacking zone. Jeff Skinner a shot and Tyrus flashing out the leather. Got the left pad on it. Never when you’re have that drive, shooting the puck is the smart idea because that maybe kicks out a rebound. A good job by Skinner to get the puck on the net. Sharks have not defeated Florida in a while. Panthers have a 12game win streak against San Jose. Skinner shot again to the glove side on Tyrus and he got his leather on that one as Ligren for Good Row. A twotime winner for the other Florida team. Good row with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Drew, what are your keys tonight? That up to this point has been offense. They’re averaging 2.7 goals per game. You compare that to the Sharks. They’re at 3.3. Skinner’s shot. Tarasov got to that despite a screen in front of him here in the first period. Skinner with a nice look. Sharks win a face off. Will Smith now for Mario Ferraro. Puts that to the side of the net. A battle and then a shot by Celabbrini and Tarasov with his best stop of the first period. That’s a terrific stop. Where the Panthers are is that it doesn’t matter who’s in net. Doesn’t matter who’s playing. It’s next man up. Terrific job by Tito to be able to win the puck along the board. And that’s what you’re going to have to be able to do. Win the puck. At center drops for Smith. tried to go back for Mlin and now it’ll trickle through to Tarasov. No choice but to cover that and take the face off with the Sharks. Loses his helmet. Picks it up and he’s going to put it back on. Doesn’t need to buckle that strap to stay on the ice, but he needs to get that lid back on and he was able to. Here’s Petri and a shot from the right wing side. Room 79 Cole Schwint, the former Vegas Golden Knights center. Here’s Reeds. Twoon one with Goodro. Reeds shoots. Teras off the save. Revo with a chance here. Sharks with 10 shots in the period. Bird and back. Celebrini loads up. Wenberg gives it back for Smith off the high cycle. He’ll shoot it. It skips wide to the net. Mcorsling couldn’t clear. A knockdown by Wenberg. Here’s Clingberg. Brook looks one-time. And that one’s blocked by the Panthers. Wenberg trying to advance it, but it’s swept away by Lucen. Now the always dangerous Sam Reinhardt forcely shot saved by Ascarov and he covers the loose puck in the front of the net. His sixth stop of the first period. [Applause] Calder Trophy winner drafted first overall back in 2014. One rookie of the year that season and then had to wait 10 years till the top. Here’s Smith and they score. Celebrate. Sharks take the lead. Double digits now with 10 goals. Aaron Ecklad misplays the puck, but he’s got pressure by Will Smith and the Mini does this so well. Look at his timing. He’s all by himself. Nicola doesn’t get over there the missed puck. Look at right away. Head up cuz he he heard Will Smith that heavy tap on the ice with the stick by is Ryan Warsovski. Talk about two guys at the opposite spectrums of the coaching business in the NHL. Porsoft, youngest in the NHL in his second year as a head coach. He’ll run it hard to the far side. Waiting on it. There is the defenseman Sango Cardwell. Won’t give many leads away. That’s the one thing rough many things that they do well, but they can run and they score. Dmitri Or his first goal as a Shark. It’s two to nothing. Mandel with a bid at the near side, but Ascarov there to keep that post covered. Now Orof grinding it out back there with Anton Well. Marshian with a shot. Ascarov stopped in. Rebound and they score. Brad Marshand a wide open yawning cage to make it two to one. Now Ascarov is looking at the referee here. There he does. They get to the net. They work it out of the corner. Now watch the traffic in front. Ascarov gets clipped by gets clipped by Orof. His mask is off. His mask is off. But in this situation, this is one of the things they talked about in this situation as there’s maybe eminent now they’re going to have Ryan Warski maybe eminent there was a goal and this one this one is like the last one. It’s a good it’s it to me he gave it up and the Panthers Yesper Bquit come ahead now with Greger and a save by Astra high low and then to Reinhardt [Applause] Jones Marian Reinhardt saved by Asterov and the rebound controlled by Delria down one touch pass And that boy, one touch pass just changes everything. But look at again Vincent De Arane. So good with the stick. He’s got to make sure he pressures. But then as the puck comes down to Marian Dickinson there, he lifts that Smith’s way and Smitty almost knocked out on the fly. He gets it out wide to who missed it in late in the period. A minute 10 to go. Long shift now. Gus Forsling over to Rodriguez now. Bhagi and that’s caught by Ascarov. Reached around Sam Reinhardt and grabbed it. They broke their stick off the draw. It’s Wenberg. Bad timing here in the defensive zone. Jones in the final minute of the period as Florida tries to push through here and get a tie. There’s a shot. Reinhardt with or Marshian rather with a net. Yaraslav Ascarov. He’s got to contend with the traffic in front and he also contends sometimes with your own guy. But boy, Ryan Rosski is giving it to the official right now. Huge backto back with a win over the team that carried the Stanley Cup through the elbow room a second straight year on Fort Lauderdale Beach last summer. Play with it. Now Reinhardt intercepts and neutralized. Let’s roll it back in for the Panthers. Sharks hanging on by the skin of their teeth or what’s left of Celini’s teeth as that one is saved by Ascarov out of play. Stick now. Delandrea looking for Reeves. Good stick by Verhagy. And now a threeon two for Florida. Carter Verhaggy and a save by Oscar off Rodriguez. What a stop by the Sharks Goender. Four tiny concepts all in a nonmoking environment. Your home for four. Celbrini in the penalty box as Marant feathers a path back to Jones. Here’s Marant. He’ll slide it deep. There’s the one-time they were looking for from Reinhardt. Saved by Ascarov. Take this draw to Foley and Clingberg also along with Will Smith. Celbrini one-time rebound back to the net and it hit the post. To Foley carries behind the net to Tofoley. Smith goes up top again for John Clingberg. He shot tipped and Terasoft got to it. That was close. Good save by Terasoft. A little flick from the point deflected. Terasoft doesn’t see it. But steps up on Jones. Here’s Lell as we come up on one minute left in the third. One minute left to play. Smith and now ground. He has the up and they score. They’re doing a great job. The Sharks missing wide, but Alice Wenberg beats everybody up when he gets the foot to the stick or to the puck to the skate. I’ll try that again. The skate to the puck to the stick and into the net. The crowd Cup champion the next in 35 years it’s never happened. It happened tonight. [Applause] [Music]
Will Smith dished out two assists, Macklin Celebrini extended his goal-scoring streak to three games with a tally, and Yaroslav Askarov stopped 38 shots to lead the San Jose Sharks to a 3-1 win over the Florida Panthers.

Gotta love the worst team two-years running beating and now being ahead of the best team two-years running
Those empty seats will be filling up soon. This team is irresistible.
Karma for Marchy taking a pay cut trying to chase another Cup
When you realize the Sharks are playoff contenders right now…

I am blind, I am Def, I think I am a ref!
Feck the refs in this game, especially #23
He was staring at penalties and didn't call a damn thing!
Sharks won against the Florida house cats! But they had to play against the refs as well!
These refs need to be promoted to the beer league!

you love to see the tank poppin
Sharks are 7-2-1 in their last 10. Took care of the Jets in back to back games. They are for real. The other 31 NHL teams have been put on notice. GO SHARKS!!!
We had a solid "ref you suck" chant going 😂
Despite some bad officiating, Sharks persevered. It's what they do now with a defense that really works.
Sharks are finally starting to benefit from the presence of Macklin. Happy for both him and Sharks Nation.
Strange and nice to see both SJ and Chicago not residing at the bottom of their respective divisions. 👍
What a game for Askarov. And another points for Celebrini and Smith
Okay at the end what happened first time 35 years? Sharks havnt beaten the defending Stanley cup champs?
