Some familiar fringe names from years past on this list. AJ seems to unearth 1 or 2 guys from here. Hope he's got it in him this year!

You all see anyone interesting? I'm curious if Eloy Jimenez has anything left in him. Righty power at the DH/1B slot would be nice if so

  1. This is where Preller is going to cook. I don’t think the org is even going to bother with the big name free agents

  2. Livan Soto as an infield depth piece, Quantrill as a AAAA arm, and Chadwick Tromp as a backup catcher seem interesting. I’d like to see us sign Hjelle (the 6’11 guy that pitched with the Giants for a while) and see if Ruben can convert him into a starter; that body type as a potential backend of the rotation piece with Niebla coaching is worth a shot.

  3. They should try and get Joey Meneses. I remember him being pretty damn good with the Nationals in 2023, and I was wondering why HE wasn’t included in the Soto trade. He can play 1B, outfield, and righty DH. Victor Gonzalez (not who you’re thinking) of the Angels could be a good cheap option for a lefty pitcher.

  4. Wow, there’s a lot of interesting players on this list.

Players I hope we at least look into:

    – Enoli Paredes
    – Tom Cosgrove
    – Cal Quantrill
    – Elieser Hernandez
    – Livan Soto
    – Eloy Jimenez
    – Brandon Drury
    – Cavan Biggio

Basically, a punch of bullpen depth, some reclamation project starters who have looked amazing at their best, and some respectable bench pieces with high upside.
