[Schefter] ESPN Sources: Micah Parsons’ trade to the Packers included a poison pill that the Cowboys inserted to block a deal in the near future to the Eagles.

  1. Not surprising considering we offered even more for Micah than GB did and Jerry turned us down

  2. Tf is a poison pill? Would Green Bay have to send whatever Philly gives them for Micah or something

  3. I swear sometimes Schefter puts on useless news just to put something out there.

Why would the Packers give up 2 firsts for a guy they were gonna flip to the eagles?

  4. “I grew up a cowboys fan” he so obviously lied about that lol. He’s a beast I’m just glad he’s not in our division anymore

  5. Hilarious if Jerry didn’t even bother with a poison pill clause for the Commanders or Giants, nope just those darn birds 🦅.

  6. Poison pill is a bit harsh. Cause we could also just offer a first rounder in that same year. So kind of a stupid point.

  7. Seriously, has anyone heard of a similar provision before?
And let’s remember that the Parsons trade happened just before the season ended. So, having decided to blow up his defense and waste what promised to be a good offense, the team’s owner was not even thinking about team building or even his team at all. Jerry was scrambling to make sure that there was no way the Eagles would ever get Parsons, no matter how unlikely.

    This made my morning.

  8. Jerry saw what happened with Barkely and would rather tank his own team and future than let that happen again but with Parsons.

  9. So, does it still count if they trade away that 2028 pick? Or are Green Bay prohibited from dealing that pick so it doesn’t break the clause? It’s all very sketchy.

  10. We do just fine showing the cowboys who America’s team really is without him thanks 🙃

  11. Just need a middleman team to broker the deal. Maybe I’m naive, but I don’t think we need him. Too expensive.

  12. … As if green Bay would trade him to the Eagles anyway? Even if the trade aged horribly, the Eagles are the last team GB would trade him to outside of like the Lions.

Jerry is the strangest figure in sports, and I’m so glad we get to experience the pain of cowboys fans firsthand.
