AND the team PDO isn’t even that high. Team shooting percentage not on a crazy heater, this performance is sustainable.
For me, the high danger ice protection is the biggest improvement. Last year but ESPECIALLY during the Georgiev era, this team was garbage at protecting high danger ice. Folks would be like “Avs limited them to 20 shots and Georgie sucked” – yes and yes, but of those shots HALF were high danger. Limiting shots doesn’t matter if those shots are all breakaways and net front tap ins.
Sooooooo not the case this year. Team is protecting the blue paint and the Lumber Yard like they haven’t done in years.
The difference is going to be the power play. It’s why we didn’t win in the playoffs last year (big part of it) if you don’t score on the PP against good teams, you will not win the best of 7.
It’s looked better than last year but we’ve got work to do. Hope the boys can figure it out because if we get that going….i pity anyone who gets in the way
All hail our lord and savior, Scott Lumberyard. Hope Mackenzie Lumberyard can add to it.
Snow team good.
It’s different from the previous years as everyone on this team knows and understands their role. We have competent goal tending. Landy’s leadership is tremendous.
It’s also the first time in awhile that we’ve gone into a season without any glaring holes to upgrade by the deadline.

Well, the 1st line is scoring. The second line is not. The power play is not, but I don’t recognize a solid power play, I guess, I just look to see if they score or not.
Was this before last night’s game?😂

21-22 I thought we were pretty well balanced, too 👀

It’s not just balance. The Avs are coooooking at every advanced stat.
58.5% Shot Share (1st)
59% Expected Goal Share (1st)
62% High danger chance share (2nd)
