The following players would cost the Giants draft pick compensation if they sign here:

  1. Would like to see Gallen in the orange and black, worth the loss of the trade chips (I mean prospects)

  2. Tucker might be the only person on this list I feel strongly we should try to get.

And even him, I’d be happy if we aimed for Belli or a trade for Robert or something.

I hope the Giants push right back up the luxury tax. But I would rather see the money split between several high/upside mid rotation starters like Giolito.

What the Dodgers did with their “bullpen” in the playoffs is clearly a good way to handle it.

The goal should be to have at least 1-2 aces on your roster (which we already have) and then at least 4 more starters that would slot in as a 2 or a 3 on an average team. It’s rare to have every starter be healthy at once, and the upside from them is always higher. Plus, when your starters can eat a lot of innings the fringe bullpen guys can be used much more effectively.

  3. It’ll be interesting to see if any of them accept. I think they’ll all reject it.

Gallen might be the only one to, but even then his previous track record should land him a multi-year deal

  4. Whomever picks up Framber is going to have a fun ride…or just pissed at their catchers.

  5. I’d suggest the Giants are out on all these players. The Giants did not hire Vitello just to give away farm picks.

  6. Bo Bichette would be awesome, but I’m not sure the Giants want their entire infield to be guys with big contracts going into their 30s (Devers, Adames, Chapman)
