Neither has the counting stats or peak to be hall-worthy. WAR isn’t everything, but as a rule of thumb: guys in the 40s just don’t cut the mustard, never mind the Baines and Morris debacles.
The committees are ten times worse than the BBWAA.
If character is held against Clemens and Bonds, it kind of seems like it should be looked at as a positive for both Mattingly and Murphy.
