The Bulls Might ACTUALLY Be Really Good

Yo, what’s going on y’all? It’s Con and the Bulls might just be really good. I don’t know. I don’t know what is going on over there in Chicago at the moment because I thought they were going to be a lottery team. You know, maybe they end up in like their usual 10 or nine seed. That’s kind of like what they like to do, but they’ve been one of the stories of the season so far. Start off the year 5-0. lost only their first game recently to the New York Knicks to move to 5-1 and came into tonight with a match up against the Sixers who have also been red-hot to start the season. Also 5- one with the winner ending tonight as the sole possessor of the number one seed in the Eastern Conference. A sentence I don’t think I could have said to you about the Bulls and the Sixers when we went to the start of the season, but here we are and Philly was annihilating Chicago. Like they were up, I believe, as much as 24 points. Looked firmly in control. Max is going crazy and beat is looking pretty good. VJ’s doing his thing. Kelly UB is continuing to play well and the Bulls just couldn’t really get anything going. But second half, third quarter, really into the fourth quarter, they just start chipping away and getting bucket after bucket and getting some stops. And suddenly we’ve got Josh Giddy passing to Nicole Vousvich in the corner. A great wraparound pass after he drew in the defense to hit a three to go ahead and win the game and make the Bulls six and one as the best record in the Eastern Conference through seven games. And listen, do I think the Bulls are going to be the ones seen in the East? No. But have they reached a point where I’m impressed enough to say this could be a playoff team and maybe even a top six team in the Eastern Conference, especially the way that some other teams are looking? Yeah. Like I think there’s a world where the Bulls are just good. And there are a number of reasons why this is the case, but the biggest one is Josh Giddy. And I’m a Thunder fan. Watched Josh Giddy with the Thunder for a few years. And I felt like there certainly was still a lot to be unlocked with him here in Chicago. But I can’t say I really saw this coming. So far this season, 23.1 points, just under 50% from the field, 41% from three, 10 rebounds, 9.1 assists. He’s nearly averaging a 23point triple double. He is really close and just became the first bowl since Jordan to have back-to-back triple doubles tonight against Philly. 2915 and 12. It’s crazy how good he looks to start off this season. And there are a number of things that have been super impressive. The top thing is, of course, the efficiency, but also the aggressiveness tied in with that. Giddy isn’t just, you know, knocking down a few shots here and there. He’s the guy they were going to. They’re putting the ball in Josh Giddy’s hands. And one of the big issues in Oklahoma City was, of course, you more so want the ball in Sha Alexander’s hands, but also he wasn’t an efficient scoreer. And playmaking only goes so far. Passing only goes so far if you cannot score the basketball. That is a major limitation. You cannot be a real legitimate plus playmaker. If you have no scoring gravity because teams aren’t going to respect you, you’re not going to be able to like draw on the defense and then kick out to shooters. It just limits you a lot. But now that Giddy is utilizing his size well, he’s going into contact. He’s making these crazy off-bounds finishes. The floater is going, the three-point shot is falling. Everything is going for him. He’s clicking in every conceivable way. Now he’s able to leverage that very easily into his elite playmaking and create opportunities for a variety of guys who are just balling right now for the Chicago Bulls. Guys that are shooting lights out, whether it’s IO Dunu, who he didn’t play tonight, but has been phenomenal all season. It’s been amazing to watch him continue to be a mainstay with the squad and honestly one of the most underrated players in the NBA on both ends. Uh Nicole Vousvich, who hits the game-winning three last year after it seemed like he might be washed, had one of the best seasons in his recent career. And right now, he might be one upping that season. He’s averaging 19.3 points, 12 rebounds, and almost four dimes on 58% from the field and 48% from three. And listen, I do think some of these numbers are going to go down. The balls aren’t going to shoot this red-hot, and it’s part of why I don’t see them as the one seed. But the fact that Vu is still capable of even putting together a stretch of this level of dominance is completely mindblowing this late into his career. He is 35 years old and it felt like in 2024 it was just kind of over for him. The three-point shot disappeared. The defense was of course it’s never been a big strength of his but that was now you know becoming more of an issue. It just seemed like we saw the best of Vuch and now the Vucci main renaissance continues on into this season. Modus Bzelis has been great. He’s been one of the best sophomores in the league. Didn’t have like a crazy game tonight. 10 points, five rebounds, an assist, and two blocks, four of 11 shooting, but knocked down two of four threes and is giving Chicago an efficient 15 a night while being one of their better defenders. He’s been really solid as kind of a connecting piece. Isaac Aoro was three of six from the outside for 16 points and his defense has been awesome so far this season. Trey Jones has been so good as well, eight points and three steals. Uh Kevin Herder has been big for them. Patrick Williams has looked fine. Jaylen Smith, like Kobe White hasn’t even played yet. And I think if you ask most just casual fans, like, okay, who is the best player on this Bulls team? They would probably tell you Kobe White at this point, you know, from now the stretch that we’ve seen from end of last season till now, it is Josh Giddy until further notice. But Kobe is also such a big piece of what they do. another offensive engine to have him be able to come in and be that extra score, someone that you know can go get you a bucket in the late game situations like Giddy’s been capable as well as a number of other guys. But Kobe has that like go-to kind of ball handler, play creator, and especially now that Giddy can shoot and is way more effective offball. He’s learned a lot better how to play off ball. We saw that to end last season between him and Kobe White. That’s going to create such a a devastating dynamic for Chicago offense that has already been sick to start this season. Like, it’s crazy that they haven’t been healthy. Zack Collins when he comes back is also going to be helpful as a big. Like, he was really good for them down the stretch of last season. This is just a talented team that’s putting it all together. Shout out to Billy Donovan. Uh he’s just consistently been a good coach. He was good over at Oklahoma City. I think he’s been good this whole time with Chicago. There have been some teams that probably didn’t, you know, belong in the playin that have managed to move that way up and it’s felt like it’s hurt the Bulls. Like I have continuously been a proponent of the Bulls still need to tank. They got to find their cornerstone guy. And maybe that is still the case. Maybe it’s not Josh Giddy. Maybe it’s not Modest Buselis. And they don’t have that guy yet. But I mean, if those guys are at least like say Giddy keeps playing at this level, he will thousand% be an all-star this season. Booze I think could get there within the next couple of years. And if you can then maybe flip some pieces for a star alongside them, suddenly you’ve got like something real brewing in this Eastern Conference. There are not a lot of powerhouses, not a lot of teams that are like looming. There is no like Oklahoma City Thunder where it’s like, “Yeah, this team’s just going to be a dynasty and be dominant or you know, Victor Webbyama, the San Antonio Spurs, the Houston Rockets, a young team rapidly on the rise.” There are no like seemingly long-term main stays in this Eastern Conference. like Cleveland is maybe one, but they’ve got to go ahead and get over a hump, you know, and we’ll see what happens there. The Celtics, nobody knows what they’re going to do this upcoming off season, it feels like if they like land a top pick or use their salary cap, right, alongside Tatum and Brown, like they’re going to be really good, but you know, it’s going to be a kind of hodgepodge situation. The Knicks have been very up and down. The Magic are supposed to be one of those teams, but like they’re maybe my most disappointing team in the entire NBA this season. Got blown out by the Trey Youngless Hawks tonight. Like I I I have to make a whole video here soon about how disappointing the the Magic have been. The Hawks don’t have Trey Young. Like there was no team that is kind of like a main stay at the top. So maybe the Bulls just kind of sneak their way like the Indiana Pacers when they come back next year I guess are maybe the closest thing to that led by Hallebertton. But even still like it’s such an open Eastern Conference both this year and I think still going forward. The East is going to continue to be the weaker of the conferences. So maybe there is a path here for the BS if these guys keep developing and getting better and clicking the way that they are to add a star at some point soon. Maybe Giannis becomes available. He’s mentioned before that he likes Chicago. And this is not me pushing Giannis to leave. I have to feel like I have to say this every time because Bucks fans get mad at me. I’m a fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder. I like small market teams. I don’t want to see Giannis leave. I’m just saying there is a possibility. And at one point he did mention that he wouldn’t mind playing in Chicago at some point. So maybe someday Giannis becomes available and this new version of Josh Giddy and Buzzelis and Vousvich is still good at like 47 years old and suddenly you’re one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. I mean, they already are the way that they’re playing right now. It’s only been seven games. I think I’m titling this video that the Bulls might be really good or something along those lines cuz I I still don’t know. They still have had some really good luck uh with opposing team shooting. Like I do think the Sixers also kind of just sold this game. Terrible offense down the stretch. It was like, “Hey, Tyrus Maxi, go cook.” and he wasn’t really cooking in the fourth quarter and beat had an abysmal last stretch of the game after I felt like he played pretty well to start off. They really never put the ball in the hands of like VJ Edgecom or Quint Grimes. Although Quint Grimes did get a wideopen three to try and win this game on the final possession, just didn’t end up falling. I didn’t think that was a bad play. I thought Nick Nurse drew up a good one. It just didn’t work out. But like they kind of sold, but I also think part of that is just the Bulls defense and the Bulls had to still get buckets on the other end. And a lot of that is generated by Josh Giddy who just looks really really good right now. Like it is crazy to see that development, that growth, and it makes things, you know, look a lot better over there. In terms of the Alex Caruso trade when it was made, a lot of people were like, “Damn, the Thunder fleeced.” And, you know, the Thunder won a championship. Like, I wouldn’t reverse that trade for absolutely anything. The Thunder are a winner in that trade 100% cuz we don’t win it all without Caruso. But the Bulls could also become a winner and this could just be a win-win. I mean, it already seems like it is. if Giddy keeps playing at this level and is able to produce into the playoffs. And obviously that is still the storyline is when we get to the playoffs is, you know, this type of shooting real, but now that we’ve seen at the end of last season, the start of this year, I don’t know. It’s starting to seem like Giddy might just be an efficient player. So yeah, shout out to the Chicago Bulls. I’ve been very, very impressed uh by what they’ve done so far this season. Again, I don’t think they’re going to be the one seed, a two-seater, or a three seed this whole season, but seven games into the season being seventh in offense, 11th in defense, and seventh in net rating is like legitimately impressive. it. I just think this is at minimum a pretty solid team and at best maybe they’re just straight up good. We’ll have to wait and see. But I’ve loved watching Chicago Bulls basketball and I think that’s the first time since 2021 2022, you know, that season where they were redot with like Lonzo Ball uh that have said that sentence, so it’s cool to see. Uh let’s talk about some of the other games in the NBA. Of course, I want to hear your thoughts on the Bulls. Do you think they’re actually good or what’s going on there down below in the comments? Let’s go ahead and check in on the rest of the games real quick before we go ahead and get on out of here. Yeah, the Magic. I mean, it’s just painful to watch Magic basketball right now. 127 to 112 uh to a Trey Youngless Atlanta Hawks team. Like this defense is nowhere near what the defense was the last year and a half. Uh the offense has been, you know, better, but it’s not nearly enough to keep up. Uh again, still feels like they can’t really shoot the basketball. Uh they’re not stopping anybody like Jaylen Johnson 17 20 from Male Alexander Walker 18 from Dyson Daniels who is eight of nine seven of 14 shooting for 21 points from Ree Sache 14 from Meka Kong Woo they sent the Hawks the free throw line 42 times like they they just can’t really play defense without fouling sometimes it feels like this has been an abysmal disastrous start. The record isn’t even like that bad. They’re currently sitting at three and five but this was supposed to be a team that won like 50 plus games. I picked them to be the three seed in the Eastern Conference. Just an absolute nightmare. Paulo has not been as good as I wanted him to. Uh Desmond Bane, I I thought he was just going to be such a seamless fit. Tonight he gets, you know, ejected from the game with nine points, three turnovers, two of six shooting, just kind of a non-factor overall. Minus 13 in his minutes. Not that single game plus minus means all that much, but it just goes to show that it’s just not worked up until this point. Jamal Mosley may not be the coach for this team. I picked him to be my coach of the year and he might not even make it through the season. And Atlanta, credit to them for getting a win. Um, even if the Magic have just been bad without Trey Young, they’re going to need to continue to do that because he’s out for like a month. Uh, which really sucks. The Raptors annihilate the Bucks 128 to 100. Uh, Raptors just have looked pretty decent to start. You know, not insane, but Scotty Barnes has been great. 236 and four for him. RJ Barrett 23 points. He’s been really solid. Another rough shooting night for Emanuel Quickley. continues to really struggle there. Uh six of 12 from Brandon Ingram for 13 points. Yaka Purle had uh nearly a double double eight and nine. Like they they’ve just been solid and they just really blitz this Bucks team. One of the better defensive efforts that the Raptors have put together so far this season, which is great because there have been big time question marks about that defense so far this season. My Thunder annihilated the Clippers. It was close. They were down two to 12, I believe, to start this game. And then third and fourth quarter, it’s just Thunder basketball. blitzed them for the best start in Thunder history. 8-0. Shay fourth straight game where he doesn’t have to play the the fourth quarter, which is absurd, and still has 30 points. 30 points, four rebounds, 12 assists, three blocks, four five from three. Uh he just had a heater. He had 18 points in the third quarter alone. Isaiah Joe since he’s come back has been one of the best shooters in the sport. 22.6 assists, 22.6 threes. Case Wallace, you can just go ahead and write him in on your all defensive bout right now if you have one or you know, you make award list at the end of the year like I do. Kase Walls is going to be a lock if he plays enough games. I mean, he’s been the Thunder’s best defender, best guard defender so far this season. Aaron Wiggins had 12. Another saw game from AJ Mitchell. Isaiah Hartstein, Chad Homegrren threw each other like 47 lobs this game. Uh just unbelievable stuff from the best team in basketball. Net rating of 13.7, which you know would have them as the best in NBA history. They’re trying to do that again. 8-0 undefeated and Jaylen Williams hasn’t played and so many other guys have been injured. Just unbelievable. And for this Clippers team, another game where they just kind of feel like they peter out. No, there was no Kawaii and Bradley Beal, so I don’t think they were going to beat the Thunder. But start of the game, they’re redot. James Harden’s playing great. And then anytime Harden was off the court, the team completely fell apart. They just don’t have a lot of ball handling on this team. The defense has been super underwhelming to start this season. They look slow. They look old. I think it’s a problem. I I think the age is catching up. They show this one graphic on the Peacock broadcast where Alex Caruso, you know, is the oldest player in the Thunder and there’s like seven players in the Clippers that are older than him. Like this is the oldest team in the NBA and it shows like it is something that is legitimately shown to start the season so far. Chris Paul doesn’t really bring a lot anymore. Zubots has been nowhere near the guy that we saw last season. I think Chris Dunn is like kind of one of the only reliable ball handlers, especially if Bradley Bill is not going to play games, which he’s really struggled to do. So far, I still think there’s something here, but it’s it’s been very underwhelming. Uh, the Pelicans won a basketball game. They did it. They won a basketball game 116 uh to 112. Zion is out for about a week with a hamstring injury, which sucks. Gun Z, but 21 points from Trey Murphy, a bunch of other guys scoring in double digits. Derek Queen played only 18 minutes, 12 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, four steals. A lot of people, me included, have been talking about the pick that they trade away to move up and get Derrick Queen, which is their own unprotected first round pick. Still a terrible decision, but I hope Derrick Queen can at least be a really good player to go ahead and erase some of that. Um, so yeah, shout out to Derrick Queen. Love to see him actually get minutes. He should be getting minutes. You gave up a massive asset for him. I don’t know why he’s not playing, especially on your terrible anyways. Uh, and for the Hornets, uh, this is a game without Lamelo Ball. So, I’m not super surprised that they lost or Brandon Miller as they continue to deal with some injuries, which is just kind of the Hornets experience. And finally, uh, the Warriors beat the Phoenix Suns. They bounced back after a few rough losses recently. Book had 38. 16 from Mark Williams and Grayson Allen, but it’s not enough. Uh, 28 from Steph Curry, 24 from Moses Moody, who was awesome. He should continue to play a lot of minutes. See what happens when he plays a lot of minutes. 13 from PMsky, 12 from Buddy Heield, 14 from Quinton Post. Uh, yeah, that’s the NBA. That’s what was going on. But let me know down below in the comments mainly your thoughts on the Chicago Bulls. forgot what team we made the video about today, but let me know if you think they’re for real. Do you think Giddy’s going to be an all-star? Could he even be all NBA? Like, what is his ceiling? What happens when Kobe White comes back? Could this be one of the top three to four teams in this Eastern Conference? Do you expect them to fall back down a little bit? And if you do, do you think it’s like a playoff team? Is it a playing team? Is it still a lottery team that they’re going to just completely crash back down to earth? I would love to hear your thoughts down below in the comments. But for the moment, uh, leave a like and subscribe if you enjoyed. Hit the notification bell so you don’t miss out on future videos. Yesterday, y’all support in the Lakers video was unbelievable. It has like 60,000 views in less than 24 hours as I’m recording this. So, I really really appreciate that. Continue to show the love. We’ll continue to drop videos as frequently as I can. I want to do them every day, but you know, sometimes just don’t have the time with other stuff that I do. Um, but yeah, appreciate you watching. I’ll see youall later. Everyone say it back.

The Chicago Bulls are one of the biggest stories in the NBA with the East’s best record behind Josh Giddey, Nikola Vucevic, Matas Buzelis, Ayo Dosunmu, and despite missing Coby White. They beat the Sixers in a major comeback and after wins over the Knicks, Hawks, Magic, and Pistons, it’s starting to seem like they might actually be kind of legit. So, are the Bulls good or are they an early season fluke?

  1. What's crazy about GIddey is that he is still making dumb mistakes (Getting into the air with no pass and turning it over) and badly missing shots, leaving free throws super short, etc. and then you look at his stats and he has 18 points 7 assists and 8 rebounds or something, shooting over 50% overall. Like he still has very obvious areas to improve, he's only 23, and is already playing at an all star level. Progress isn't guaranteed but is he takes a couple more steps he can be in MVP conversations.

  2. That move at 3:00 feels like a new trick, don't think I saw him last season able to create for himself with deception like that, reminds me a lot of what Coby does with the ball to create scoring opportunities for himself

  3. Coby is the only player on the whole team who can consistently create shots for himself, it's hard to believe the Bulls are scoring as much as they are without him, he is by FAR the best scorer on the team. When the offense stagnates it is usually on Coby to take over and get some momentum back, create drives, or step back 3s, what have you. Somehow the Bulls are finding a way to get it done without him and I just can't really fathom that. I think he will fit right in when he returns as well, considering Giddey is the defining piece of the offense, Coby can just score.

  4. As a Sixers fan, it’s hard to tell if the Bulls or the Sixers are good. The Sixers played well first half, (bulls missed a lot of easy shots). Bulls played better second half (Sixers missed a lot of easy shots)
They won by 2 points. Unfortunately last nights game told me nothing lol

  5. Honestly, I kinda saw this Magic situation coming. Didn't see the defensive fall off coming, but the offense…I mean, this is the same strategy they tried last year: add one really good shooter and that will fix it. They're just trying that again with Bane instead of KCP. Their offense is not well run, period. Part of that is the coach and part of that is their PG is still not good enough at running it. Bane and Tyus Jpnes were never going to fix that.

  6. This Bulls team is playing like just that: a TEAM. No hero ball, no one taking all the shots, no one standing around watching because they don't have the ball, none of that. Player movement, ball movement and an unselfish team-first mentality. THIS is what the Bulls need to build on. Even if they come back down to earth and end the season as a lottery team, I'd be okay with that if this playstyle/mentality carries onward. Everyone has been crying for the Bulls to "rebuild" since Lonzo got hurt in 2022 (immediately after we put that team together), and It'd be nice to see it all the way through this time. No Vucevic-like trades to "speed up" the rebuild this time…just build from within.

  7. The reason theyre good is because everyone isnt playing selfish and getting other people the ball that can score efficiently. They dont need an all star they need another big that can replace vuc in these coming years that can score efficiently that isnt selfish on the ball.

  8. Keep the ball in Giddey hands frfr it's working we are playing winning basketball I'm just concerned how Coby will fit that will take the ball out of Giddey hands man idk but if white can come back and accept taking a back seat to Giddey and play more off ball then I can Rock wit it but I want the ball in Josh hands when he's on the court Coby better get better in his catch and shoot Cuz it's the Giddey show Right Now 6-1 baby Bulls basketball

  9. Thee bulls have:

2 point guards (Giddy & Trey Jones). Most teams dont even have 1
2 Bigs that can score (Vuc & Matas)
1 Legit wing scorer (Coby White)
Lots of 3 and D players (Okoro, Ayo, Pwill, Heurter, Smith, Phillips)

They also have size at every position

When are you big, tall, can shoot, defend and are super deep then you can win a lot of games.

  10. Bulls have been a top 4 team in the Eastern conference since getting rid of DD and Zach. They have now won 21 of their last 27 games. He has turned into a legitimate all star. If he continues to be a 20-10-10 type of player, they’re going to win between 45 and 50. He’s the best player they’ve had since Jimmy Butler and they have a ton of depth as well. Super fun team.

  11. Their One Or Two More Pieces Away From Being LEGIT Contenders, Can’t Wait To See What This Team Looks Like When Coby Comes Back, And If They Can Be Consistent Throughout The Season…..

  12. Starting five: Josh Giddy, Matas Buzzels, Nikola Vucavich, Coby White, Tre Jones
Bench: Issac Okoro, Zach Collions, Kevin Hurter, Ayo Dosumbu, Jalen Smith, Patrick Williams

  13. On the positive side, the Bulls have been a welcome surprise for the start of this season (maybe not surprising if you ask Bulls fans based on their late-season run last year). Giddey's elevation has been excellent to witness. Vucevic look rejuvenated. The rest of their crew has stepped up admirably, and it's going to be interesting to see how far they can go this year in an open East. HOWEVER, any objective person can see that they're not truly on that level, and with one of the more promising draft classes on the horizon, it would behoove them to move Vucevic, tank, and position themselves for a high pick.

  14. The same thing happened before the bulls owner Jerry traded DeRozen, Lavine, and Caruso. Once a player is valuable he will trade them away. Jerry doesn’t care about winning, just money. He’s still riding the glory of Jordan.
