Literally a lifetime since this team has been good, I’ve talked to a few people who were there in attendance for the last Sabres playoff games and it just sounds like some made up land of fairy tales

  1. I started watching the Sabres my Freshman year of highschool. I graduated from university 6 months ago and have never seen this team be good.

  2. I feel for you. It was the same thing for me and the Bills. It’s going to be an amazing feeling when they get there. Someday, friend…

  3. Check out classic sabre games to see why us older fans really have a passion for the franchise. I know it sucks but atleast we aren’t Colombus, Arizona never turned a profit and was a drain on their city. I really do believe the league has a bias towards Buffalo and not just with hockey. Its obvious Bettmans expansion babies are a priority otherwise there would’ve been no goal on a skate in the crease. Or the missed goal during Calgary/Tampa, you could compile a whole list. The sabres have always been a gritty underdog

  4. I’m 32, got into it during the 05-06 season and have suffered since. If I hadn’t gone through those seasons idk if I would be into it like I am not, so kudos to you for being a fan without those good years

  5. I watched this past Little League World Series and it was mind boggling realizing none of the kids have ever seen a Sabres playoff game.

  6. I’d rather not know what it was like to be good. You don’t know what you are missing. Full energetic arenas. Chants not boos in the halls (ooooo ahhh, sabres on the warpath). Parties in the plaza. Overflow watch parties. Away playoff games showing on the jumbotron for fans. A team that gave effort all year long.

  7. I know I’m really showing my age, by I have the fondest memories sitting my grandma’s couch watching the 99 finals. Even at the age of 10 I remember being so glued into the games with how exciting it was. That was the only reason I got into the sport at all. I can’t fathom how a whole generation hasn’t seen team success.

  8. I look forward to the day I can forget the sinking feeling in my gut after that last playoff game, sitting there in the arena and just knowing it would be a while until we were back.

(The worst part is at the time I just thought we were going to lose the series – not our sanity)
