NYR vs NSH: Mike Sullivan Pregame Media Availability | Nov. 10, 2025
Well, he’s um I think he’ll give our team a jolt. I just think, you know, just his presence alone from a leadership standpoint means a lot to this group. Um you know, the the hockey side of it goes without saying. He’s a terrific hockey player as we know. So, it’ll be nice to get him back. How does that change? I just think it makes us deeper, you know, it makes us deeper. It gives us more balance, you know. um the the thought process with Gabe, he’s you know, he’s had a he’s had a pretty decent start, especially most recently um in Hartford and he’s an offensive player that has really good instincts uh on that side of the puck. So, our intention is to try to set him up for success so we can play to his strengths. So, in other words, I don’t know that it makes a whole lot of sense to call a player up like that and and put him on a in a bottom six role where do you understand what I’m saying? So, you know, I think uh you know, I think he’s a guy that potentially could help us if um you know, if if we can get the best version of him. So, um it’s a great opportunity for him. We’re excited to watch him. You talked about how well he Yeah, they the reports are that he’s played really well and um especially most recently I think you know there was a little bit of a slow start. I think it that was the whole group, but I think um since then I think uh I think Gab’s game has evolved um in in a lot of ways. So, you know, he’s had a number of games there now and and we’re hoping that um you know, he can he can bring that confidence to this group and we obviously know what his strengths are and uh you know, potentially could could help us build a little bit more offense. How much of the conversation is wanting to jolt the offense a bit and feel like he can help you there versus, you know, wanting to make sure that he’s ready, that he’s had ample time in to work on the things you want to work on. Yeah, I think that’s the balancing act, you know, that’s the balancing act is is, you know, we want we want to try to put players in positions to succeed. And um and so, you know, ideally we we were trying to give Gabe some time down there to build and develop his game physically and otherwise. Um in the hopes that when he does get called to New York that, you know, he has he has the ability to be successful. And so, um, you know, I’ve talked obviously talked to Chris, uh, after the game the other night, yesterday, uh, when the decision was made and, you know, was a lot of it’s based on Gab’s own performance down there and what we think the needs of of the Rangers are here at this particular point in time. No. Well, I think I think the challenge is is that, you know, we we’ve got to we’ve got to find a way to put the game on the ice that we’re capable of playing, you know, and I think, you know, there’s there’s a number of reasons, I think, behind uh performance and how that how that evolves. I don’t think the game that we played the other night was characteristic of this group overall throughout the course of this early part of the season. You know, um, as I said to the group this morning, going into that game, we won four out of our last five against some pretty good teams. So, we won four out of our last six. You know, our challenge is I think our guys want to want to win at home so badly that sometimes they’re trying too hard and and that can cloud judgment, decision- making. It has a ripple effect on players and that’s the human element of sports. It may appear as though, you know, hey, they’re they’re not trying hard when my experience has been with players is it’s just the opposite. But it’s not instinctive because they’re they’re they’re trying to force things. They’re pressing and that’s our challenge is to help each other through that process. I would like to believe it would I’m sorry. Well, I think, you know, I think his biggest strength is are his offensive instincts. You know, he sees it pretty good, you know, and he can make plays. He has the skill level to execute. um you know, he’s a he’s a good playmaker and um you know, he’s playing with two pretty good players and so I think those guys um can help him in the other elements of the game, whether it be uh his play away from the puck or some of those details associated with that. Um but I think Gabe will be able to help those guys with his offensive instincts. I think he has the ability to get those guys the puck in uh in the right areas. So, you know, we’re we’re hoping that he can he can give the give our group a boost from that standpoint.

Need a win today boys
Sullivan is like Belicheck. Crosby and Malkin made him great. Outside of a very talented penguins team, Sullivan sucks and is just another average coach
Maybe Trochy being back will spark something
Why is no one pointing fingers at Dolan Drury destroying this roster
Why did Kreider have to be traded ?
Why is Connor Sheary recently went from 3rd line to first line because he is married to Sullivan’s Niece ?!? Sherry is a forth line player or just be released waivers ? I bet any money they score tonight but still lose against Nashville.
Sew the Away jersey underneath the Home jersey……
Rangers roster is inept. Watch when they shoot puck directly into goalie bread basket area . No one stands in front to block deflect puck . Don’t if these guys can play North South style instead of East West .
i'm still baffled by this coach's line up choices. (projected for tonight)…I don't think perreault should have the pressure of being on the top line w mika n JT…he won't play freely and will force plays.
it should be:
panarin, mika, JT (best players)
laf, troch, perreault (responsible center w. young playmakers)
edstrom, laba, cuylle (young, good size, speed and toughness)
sheary, carrick, raddysh (experienced, hard working, feisty)
Please pass this along to Sully!
Oh boy, it’s a home game. If we lose again at home things are looking really bad…… also those seat prices better start dropping. Who wants to pay to see your team lose again and again on home ice
