  1. Yeah, this was one of the most embarrassing plays in Saints history (and oh boy do we have a few), but it really served to a purpose of forcing Kellen Moore’s hand.

We’d be going into the bye week 1-9 and with nothing to be excited about right now.

  2. As much as I agree, let’s not shit on Rattler too much because he was working with a skeleton crew of a team. We all agreed that Rattler wasn’t the problem, so let’s not get too excited that Shough is the answer.

That said, Who dat, I believe.

  3. The plan was always to play tyler this season, They just wasn’t rushing it. The fact that some of you just shit on people to shit on them is stupid.

  4. To be honest I think the staff has probably been ready to switch to Shough for weeks. But we had a bunch of close games where the narrative was “rattler is playing well” or “qb is the least of our problems.” Once Rattler finally did something bad Kellen yanked him out mid game to pass the point of no return – which just happened to be before the Rams

  5. Stats don’t lie. Rattler just isn’t a very good QB..

That being said, he could probably shine as a backup for the Eagles.

  6. I think it goes without saying that Shough still has a lot of work to do. He’s going to look good for the first few games since no one really has any game film on him but DC are going to figure that out quickly and he’ll need to adapt. Hopefully then we can really see his football IQ

  7. How do I pronounce it?
When I first saw his name I assumed it was “Sh•Ou” like shout without the T and the gh was silent. But then the Fox announcer pronounced it “Shuck” and it thoroughly confused me. Another announcer pronounced it “Shugg” and another as “Shouge” please send help, I think a said his name 50 different ways trying to make sense of it all!

  8. He struggled against their defense last year as well. Probably seeing ghosts out there

  9. Super dumb take. Maybe this play primed the fans but the coaches see these guys 6 days a week and know what they have.

Rattler’s role as the 1 year vet was to always be the starter and give space for Shough to work on the scout team – exactly as Mahomes did in his first year.

We can’t act like Shough now is the same guy who would have played week 1. If you recall, he wasn’t outstanding in the preseason.

  10. I was a Rattler defender (until his last 2 games) bc the coaches made him the starter so I trusted their decision.

But is Rattler a practice player god? Like in game, it’s pretty clear Shough looks way better so why was the decision made to start Rattler then? Doesn’t matter now but I find that a bit interesting.

I will say, if Shough keeps it up, we might need to put Rattler back in so we dont throw away a Top 5 draft pick lol jk jk unless…

  11. They didn’t expose shit! It was clear to anyone that knows ball that Shattler wasn’t it. He’s low-tier backup quality at best

  12. Tank for most of the season to get Arvell Reese or Reudebn Bain then get Tyler some practice so he can sweep the Falcons. I like this script Kellen Moore is writing.

  13. Give teams a few more weeks of Shough film and see if he can repeat before we shit on Rattler.

  14. I really don’t think you can hang all of the losses 100% on Rattler except for the last few when he made a bunch of bad decisions and was intercepted a bunch. Most of the games we were in the running to win, and penalties and dropped passes were the difference. The first 6 games looked like preseason games there were so many penalties. I do think that Shough gives us a better chance of winning, I think Rattler puts a little too much on his passes and the ball is harder to catch. I think it was the right decision to give Rattler a chance to show what he’s got, as well as now Shough. That way we know what we have at QB

  15. If Shough is our guy, then great. But let’s not dismiss what Rattler did. I’d love him to stick around as back up if that’s the way it all works out.

  16. hey he had one good game against the panthers a pretty good one no doubt but lets at least let him play one or two more

  17. Timing was right for Shough. He is still learning and I am not a fan of throwing rookies right into the grind. Let them observe, study and learn first. It’s one game, but the timing was good
