Okay, look.

I get things are rough with this franchise at the moment. I will be the first to bemoan the state of things given the opportunity.

All of that said, today is a glorious day.

It is a day that I have been waiting for over the course of years and years as a Sabres fan. A day that I thought may never arrive in my lifetime.

Today is the day that Alexander Mogilny finally takes his rightful place in the Hockey Hall of Fame, which he would have deserved solely for being the first player to defect from the USSR, even if he hadn't had such a prolific career, imo.

I legitimately cried tears of joy when this was announced.

For all the times as Sabres fans, especially over the last decade and a half, that we get proverbally smacked in the face, you have to celebrate the good times even more, imo.

Congratulations to one of, if not the, most prolific goal scorer in franchise history for FINALLY getting inducted into the Hall of Fame this evening. πŸ«ΆπŸ’
