We got their 3rd round pick who turned into Jaylen Noel and Aireontae Ersery has been a solid replacement. On top of that we get their 2nd round pick and washington hasn't been good this year (same record as miami to put in perspective) which would give that pick better value. Tunsil hasn't played bad but washingtons o-line as a whole hasn't been good.

In hindsight this was a good trade, however at the time people were very worried (rightfully so to an extent due to the risk of the move) that this would further regress an already poorly performing offensive line.
its always a win getting rid of the most overrated lineman in the league
Win is obviously subjective but he’s going to want a ton of money and we probably didn’t have it anyway. Trade for high value, it’s been a win-win. Commanders stink but he still doesn’t.
Y’all, that 2026 Washington 2nd rounder is going to be decent
At least he wasn’t here to false start that game winning drive Sunday.
Yes, without a doubt. Tunsil is a highly skilled OL but what their fanbase failed to realize when they were celebrating the trade was that Tunsil’s shortcomings as a leader/communicator on the line and his propensity for penalties are a huge detriment, especially for a player eating up as much cap space he’s taking. And this is before their team collapsed making that 2nd round pick even more valuable next season
Ask that in 2027. We may get the next Derrick Henry or Jarred Allen in 2 and 4 of 2026. Now I want the Wash to tank for sure!!
Depends on if they re-sign him and if he can continue playing well. Also need to see who we get with the pick.
Though the pick is going to be better than we thought it would be.
50/50ish right now. Nick has been pretty good at finding talent in the second day of the draft so having more ammo there is always good. If we get a starter out of one of those 2026 picks I would say we won.
still too early to say, Commanders have had really bad injury luck lately, we have not made all of those picks yet, etc.
You have to account for Tunsil being the most expensive player on our team when we traded him. We made some huge draft home runs and they needed to be paid.
I think this was a good idea for the team.
If the Texans leave the draft with Nick Singleton/John Coleman, OG Vega Loane then the offense will look disgusting
LT Ersey, OG Vega, Center, Ingram, Howard that’s a nice line
100%. We won just getting him out of the locker room and off the books

Not bad, now a fan of anyone v Wash.
Commanders 2nd rounder keeps getting better.
A 2 and a 3 for an expensive, ageing veteran? Yeah, we won the trade. Tunsil’s contract reflected his value fairly, which is to say that two day two picks in return is a haul.
That 2nd rounder is looking nice
Yes, but only because Ersery is looking like he will develop into a mainstay at LT for years to come. All of the concerns when the trade was made were valid but it has worked out great so far. And we haven’t even spent the 2nd yet!
What was frustrating was the non Texans fans looking at his TOTAL penalties to defend him and ignoring the TIMING.
Still too far out to tell. I think we gotta see how our picks turn out and what the commies do in the next few years. So far I am feeling good about it
The Commanders OL appears to be very similar to what they were in 2024. Our OL does as well. Ours is moving in the right direction theirs is seemingly regressing. We have the picks, a brighter longterm outlook at LT and dont have to pay him a 3rd time. Also he wasnt a leader and wore a C.
Obvious win. The logic worked out exactly as Caserio envisioned and he deserves his flowers from some of yall on this one.
>Tunsil hasn’t played bad but Washington’s o-line as a whole hasn’t played well.
Funny how that keeps happening.
This trade would look better if the Texans did a better job with lineman in FA last season.
Absolutely. Tunsil refused to be a leader and was a drive killer. He was an above average pass blocker, as long as he wasn’t asked to aid his guard. He sucked at run blocking as well. I’ll take Ersery every day of the week…and so would Washington.
I want to say yes, but i think a fair assessment will come after those 2026 draft picks come into fruition.
