Just me maybe, but Imai sounds like the kind of competitor who’d want to take on former NPB icons in the postseason, not play alongside them

  1. Wishful thinking I’m sure but reading this interview he doesn’t come off as a “send me to LA to be Shohei’s fourth supporting castmember” kind of guy. He wants to face the best, and he wants to win games. It doesn’t mean he’ll be a Yankee but it feels like if we want him, we have a much better shot than we did with Yamamoto or Sasaki, just going by vibes.
